How It Works:
Prepare the Bottle: Clean and dry your PET bottle to remove any contaminants.
Cut the Bottle: Use the built-in cutter to remove the bottom part of the bottle.
Strip the Bottle: Create a small initial strip from the bottle to feed into the machine.
Feed Through Hotend: Insert the strip into the machine's hotend, which molds the plastic into a 1.75mm diameter filament. The plastic doesn't melt but is shaped into a round filament.
Automatic Pull and Cut: An 8nm torque DC motor powers the spool, which pulls the filament through an automatic cutter. As the spool pulls, the bottle automatically feeds through the cutter, ensuring a continuous process.
Colorizing: As the filament is pulled, it passes through a chamber where it is colorized using a permanent marker.
Wind onto Spool: The finished filament is wound onto a removable spool, making it easy to start printing without winding into another spool.

How It Works:

Hello, thank you for your video. Please don't add subtitles because when you don't speak English and you're using CZcams's translator, the subtitles in your video interfere with subtitles in other languages, so please let those who need subtitles activate them in CZcams ;o)

Instead of pulltruding, why not just enlarge the whole hotend to fit the oval filament? Assuming a PTFE-lined heatbreak, all you'd really need would be PTFE tubing with slightly wider internal diameter and a conical Dremel abrasive bit to slightly enlarge the entry point at the nozzle. I might try this myself, if I can get ahold of the agricultural filament cheap enough.

Its a normal 0.4mm nozzle but i used 1.7 drill bit to make a hole equivalent to diameter of the regular filament.

I have just launched a kickstarter of the updated version of this machine, you can check that out - kck.st/3KIqqmP
Instead of wasting time and energy cutting the bottom off dozens of bottles manually just to make a usable amount of filament, you can instead glue sandpaper on a circular disk, attatch it to a motor and some gears, secure the whole system on a solid surface, and sand the bottom much more cleanly and consistently. All you have to do is press the bottle down on the sandpaper and watch as it does its thing. You can even salvage the dust for further recycling.
I've built a sensor a while back which can measure the diameter in real time while the filament is moving with a precision of +-0,01mm. This can be used to control the motor speed for more precise filament. I tried thinking outside the box when constructing the sensor, the total cost is about 15€ for building it.

You could make a small version of this that uses the printer as the heat source make a small single roll version that slides over your heatbed and then just use usb to power the 2 fans thanks for the proof of concept ill be trying my own design and ill be uploading it

People. All this stuff, all the added cost and time, all the upgrades cosmetic and performance wise can have just got you a better printer that could do faster and more accurate speeds to start with with a lot less tinkering and less money spent.

You can weld them together after the filament is made.
