Thanks
Congratulations on reaching the 1/2 way point. Wow, you really completed the 1/2 gallon challenge and didn't get 'brain freeze'. 🍨 Rest well.
Thank you!
Thank you so much for going over how you pitched your tent on the wooden platform. How awesome that you just happened to come to one this evening as well, so you could video while describing what you did. I call that a God- incidence.🤗 Thank you again for taking the time to go over the pitch on a wooden platform. That shelter looked awesome.
Halfway! Well done gentlemen.
Ice cream!!!!
Now it's official. The glass is now half full. Has the trail actually gotten longer or did the measuring improve. Oh yeah good job on the ice cream. I would need a nap haha.
Congratulations!! You guys made it!! I'm enjoying your videos and am hoping all goes well the rest of the way!
Thanks

Hahahaha. I get it!!
Thank you for the videos, we love following along on your journey. At the 7:19 mark of your video, you mention seeing a new kind of fir tree. I am wondering if these could be the Eastern Hemlock trees?
Not sure. It looks kinda like a weeping spruce if there is such a thing
🎉congrats on both ice cream challenge and 1,100 miles. Enjoy the second half heading north. 🥾
Thank you! Will do!
I think your trail name should be “ice cream”
Hahahaha. No no and no.
Congrats on the halfway mark! No way could I eat that much ice cream, but it did look good. The trail was really pretty with the Mt Laurel in full bloom and then the pines Just makes a person want to be there.

You bet! I think a lot of folks haven’t heard of the other Washington monument
There wouldn’t be a cat hole big enough if I did the ice cream challenge lol. I can only imagine what hiking felt like after this. Thanks for sharing
Hahahahhaa. With hiker hunger fully set in, it really wasn’t that difficult
When I went by that cabin, a family actually had it rented. Momma wasnt happy she had to hike in to it. The kids were having a blast lol. Thanks for sharing your journey

That’s kinda what I’m thinking

So good to hear from you!!!!!!!! We got behind and hard to catch back up. We were doing well, then I had to leave trail due to a death in the family. Trying hard to catch y’all, but doubt we’ll do it. We’re in Duncannon right now.

My husband Jim (Stormy Weather) started carrying six small screw-in i-hooks that he got at Lowe’s for the platform tent situation. He pitched on several wooden platforms, mostly in the Whites, and they worked great. All 6 could not have weighed even an ounce.
We did this too. Also, some of the platforms in the Whites hold multiple tents, and you may end up in the middle.
Thanks. I might pick up a few
So what are you doing to protect yourself from Poison Ivy
I just watch for it and try to avoid it
I am a newer subscriber. Love your content. I was curious if you have ever come across bears, the other hikers I follow have not. So glad I found this video. Stay safe! ☺☺☺
Yes I have. In fact I’ve seen 3. I point them out on the thumbnail on my earlier videos
@@ChuckHowell-Outdoors Thank you. I saw the one in this video, in the tree. So awesome. Thanks! Safe travels. I will check out the other videos. ☺
We’re enjoying coming along with you on this epic adventure! Our hats are off to you for sure. Have you talked about what you buy when you resupply in previous episodes? I’d be interested in knowing what you include for your trail meals and if you keep calories in mind. Blessings to you and Bluegrass. May your trail be smooth, water pure and trail magic plentiful.
We have, but there is very little to speak about. I even did an episode where I prepared a meal. Our meals are calorie rich but not necessarily good for us. A lot of Ramen, instant mash potatoes. Chicken pouches, spam pouches, candy bars, trail mix, and oatmeal. Anything that won’t go bad.
Hi
Great halftime show, guys.
Hahahaha. Thanks
Looks like those rocks are brutal!, I imagine the trekking poles gets a beating on those rocks. Glad you got to resupply some at the Dollar General, and a Thumbs up to the guy that helped yall out! That is a beautiful shelter which is uncommon, pretty cool how you hooked up the tent on the platform! Great Video!!
Thanks. Yeah the rocks wear down the metal tips. I’ll likely need to replace them soon
