I've never understood why people think 6-volt is such a bad thing. And to work on something that someone converted to 12-volt from 6, is a nightmare! Just leave it alone and the 6-volt works fine. My '49 Studebaker truck starts up just fine when its -14°, which generally happens often in a Indiana winter. Great video! 👍
Interesting how the auto industry went from aerodynamic to square boxes Then made its way back to aerodynamic. Difference now is cars are lighter and boring.
Please show the interior in the back seat area for all the extra room there is???
Yuuuppp. My buddy had one ..burn rubber and move like hell. Fun fun fun
🙀😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
Door xd
men driving around a rainforest
Nobodys gonna talk about how that door just came off when he opened it XD
Stay way from the triton 3v....ford 150s worst engine to date
This was my first car!! It looks just like it!!❤️❤️💃🏼💃🏼💃🏼
Nash made some of the coolest cars. If you want to see the ultimate, look up Nash Ambassador Brougham. It has two "theatre" seats in the rear that are like armchairs, turned slightly inward to each other. Fantastic!
Bought my red '85 in May 1990, with just over 100,000 miles on it. Only car I've driven all that time.
Bella curiosidad!.
My dad had a 65 69 and a 74 I sure miss him taking of at the lights on everyone with that torque monster the 69 would burn rubber foe a straight block until he got out of it.
How many miles does this old gal have on it? And how many would you expect to get on that old straight 6? Wondering what the reliability of these cars was if they were well maintained considering how dead simple that engine looks
This one has a bit over 60,000 miles. As a general rule with cars this old I would expect 100,000 before a rebuild, but oils have improved dramatically since then so a rebuild would likely last longer now.
That is a lot of work to go through and not fix it
*Chick magnet... Hubba, Hubba Hey Buddy, got just a bit too cute playing the music over the engine sound? - FAIL! We wanted to hear the engine...*
Wow ❤️
Look at the gas gage dance. Nice car
That car deserves a complete restoration especially the engine!!!!!
The passenger side is likely starved for oil due to the timing chain tensioner gasket blowout. Recommend replacing tensioners and upgrading oil pump along with rollers.
Thats defintly a Oldsmobile. The only car that can set 20 years and fire right up at the turn of a key i bought an olds that sat in a field so damn long weeds were growing out the hood. Tossed a fresh battery in it turned the key and that sonbitch fired rught up. The fan turned on and chewed up a huge horse weed that grew through the hood. Drove out the bushes and off to my house. Got home cleaned the hens nest out the back seat and got about 5000 miles outta her before the block cracked. Paid 60 bucks for it.
Be nice if the music stopped when you accelerate....would like to gear the mechanicals thru the gears
What are you using to remove that paint
its called "aircraft paint remover". I bought it at my local auto parts store.
Yes you can replace the roller fowlers without removing the cam check with this guy, FordTechMakuloco
Your car is old 😂😂😂😂
Great old car. I enjoyed your video. Serious power and luxury. 7:43
I was born in December of 1955 and have always Loved these old Nash cars ! Even though longevity runs in my family my Grandfather on my Mom's side past away when I was young and he Loved Nash cars and later Ramblers. As a successful business man in Worthington Mn he had a Chrysler Imperial for his primary car and a Nash or a Rambler for the around town errand car. In fact my Grandmother when I got my driver's license gave me my first car her 1960 Rambler. It was so much Fun, straight six with a three on the tree ! I somehow got the Nash and Rambler bug at an early age. I'm now ready to retire and am Blessed to be in a financial position to start acquiring affordable Classic vehicles, and a Nash or Rambler is high in my list. I think to start off I'm ready for the most lovable Nash in my opinion the Metropolitan ! I would Love to own an Airflyte and yes my 1960 Rambler as well. Thank you for reading and I will let you know when I buy my first Nash or Rambler !
She actually has some pretty good get up and go for it is . I love old cars I haven't bought a new car sense the early 90's they cost a fortune and are made so cheaply like a new house.
His demented face while watering the plants in his Chevrolet made me die laughing
He took it apart and put it back together and told his friend I found your problem.. 😅😅😅
I swapped out the cam follower at a later date, after he ordered the parts. Only required a screwdriver no special tool.
@@rustyoldchevy1149after you swapped out the cam follower, did it fix the problem? Was it only that one follower that was making the sound?
@@HPX584 it was the only source of the sound, so it fixed the problem and stayed quiet since the cam was still in good shape.
@@rustyoldchevy1149 was it the rocker arm that you replaced or cam phaser?
@@HPX584 the ticking sound was the cam follower, the phaser makes a lower knocking sound
Che wins
OH AND EVEN THOUGH IT NEED'S AN ADJUSTMENT IT SHO IS A SMOTH RUNNIN LIL BUGGER JUST AS SLIK AS CAN B SMOOOOTH SOUNDS LIKE IT'S RUNNIN AROUND 600 RPM MABY A BIT LESS NOTHING RUNS SMOOTHER THAN A WELL KEPT FLATTY
I CAN HEAR ONE OF THEM TALKIN A BIT A BIT OF AN AWKWARD REACH TO GET INTO BUT DOOABLE IN ANY CASE LUV A FLATHEAD BETTER LIVING THROUGH LOW COMPRESSION 😉👍👍👍
Bentle,lol.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Mine makes the same noise followers seemed fine and lifters were stuck in the up position.. replaced all three in cyl 8, and waiting on new cam set screws to finally see if this fixes my problem.
did it? i have same issue and figuring it’s my lifters
It was a broken valve spring@@austinbell-
You don't try to go thru a laminated glass dood
Paint it like the LGBTXYZ rainbow , and let Michelle O'Biden drive it in the parade
i saw this thing on insta earlier lmfao
😂
You can rent a spring compressor and do it by hand and put the new cam Fowler's in also check the lifters well the fowlers are out
That thing runs, you truly are a warlock.
It always has run well! After all it really only has 36,000 miles!
Just always saw it way back in the corner like yard art. I guess it’s functional yard art.
To hell with the body panels, clean the frame.
I can use this. It's more than I can say for the girliemobiles of the here and now!
The thing effin working 😂😂😂
It turns out there are even worse cars than our Russian Zhiguli VAZ!!!!!!
This was the first car I ever owned. Bought it from the company I worked for when I was 19 years old. Cost me $300.00 plus ten hours of free labour. Leaded gas was still available for it and it was a beast. Loved that car , black vinyl roof on navy paint. Thanks for showing us your 68 Olds.👍👍🇨🇦
Its not cheaper than a Tesla. A quick google search would've shown you that. $8 for a full charge on a Tesla, besides, the wear and tear on your engine will pile up, this isnt a 7.3L.
But I can rebuild this engine 10 times for the price of 1 Tesla. The 6.9L engine is simple and has no computer. They are not nearly as powerful as a 7.3 power stroke, but just as reliable. I really don’t think modern vehicles age well either.
That oil is not good for the tips of the injectors. It will leave lots of deposits on the nozzles. At least I think that’s true.
Only one way to find out, if its a problem at least the injectors aren't terribly expensive!
@@rustyoldchevy1149he’s right it’s gonna cost more than it’s worth
but the truck cost less than some monthly car payments I’ve seen, and I have a set of brand new injectors that cost less than $400. It still may surprise us how long it runs fine we will have to see, and once I’ve saved $400 in diesel the injectors are payed for.
@@rustyoldchevy1149 There aren't enough people who think like this anymore! Please accept a cap doff from a new fan in Scotland 😁👍
Dude I get it. But new injectors are like 1200. I’m fast at putting them in, and it still takes me like six hours not worth a couple hundred dollars. (unless you’re flat broke). That being said, I’m just as guilty as you.
