When you use the man-basket, don't depend on the counterweight alone. At 4 yards in height, your body behaves like a lever and can easily overcome the flimsy unstable counterweight, and the lift tips over!

I made a front wheel drive one from a regular MTB, a suspension bike and an old metal table frame. I can have it as a bike or trike simply by swapping rears at the pivot point.

Quick question what type of metal best to use for this project

This is great for flanging and wide beads, but what about some sort of die? Although rolled flat bar and some rolled round bar welded onto the bearing races could do the trick... Hmmmm. Just requires some tedious grinding but doable for sure.

Like the design, but older man would like to see building same but with two front wheels for safety not fall as poor balance. Good if fold in middle to carry in lift to flat. Make easier for food shopping.

Forklift Rule #1, always travel with any lifted load as LOW as possible. You were unnecessarily high when pushing the box around. And, with your little wheels, it never hurts to put a strap around your load in case the wheels hit a floor obstacle and the load jerks to a stop and the load lurches forwards. Otherwise great job!

A great demonstration of fabrication skills. It's similar to the Genie lifts we used in our HVAC shop. For safety, I would suggest outriggers on the sides and encased within the base frame extending both to the front and rear. These would negate the need for the added weights.
