Pandemonium - K'nex Ball Machine
zhlédnutí 3,3KPřed 2 lety
This ball machine contains approximately 50,000 pieces and took just over a year to build. It has 5 motors, 4 lifts, and 18 unique paths across 2 networks. This machine presented a unique challenge, as it was built in the living room of an apartment I shared with two other people. The room had to remain fully usable and accessible, with no restricted access to furniture, doors. It also needed e...

K'nex Telescoping Elevator Ball Lift (Plus 2021 ball machine preview!)
zhlédnutí 1,9KPřed 3 lety
This is a lift design that I came up with out of a necessity for getting a ball as close as possible to the ceiling of my living room, in order to build a network of branching paths that were high enough for people to walk under them.
K'nex Ball Machine Element - Motorized Spinning Screw Drop
zhlédnutí 1,7KPřed 3 lety
This is my first new ball machine element in quite a while. I am planning to add it to my new work-in-progress K'nex ball machine. It's an unusual element in that, despite being motorized, it carries balls down rather than bringing them up. The motor is required to bring the spinning arm back up to the top of the element. It utilizes the leadscrew piece from the K'nex Control Crane set. To my k...

This is my latest K'nex ball machine. It was built as an installation for the lobby of The Works Museum. It stands 23 feet tall with over 115,000 pieces. It has a computer-controlled dual elevator lift which sends balls down 12 different paths adding up to over 850 feet of track. It took one year to build. This is the world's largest K'nex ball machine currently standing - by piece count. The a...

K'nex Ball Machine at The Works Museum - September 2018 Update

This is my attempt to build the world's largest K'nex ball machine at The Works Museum. It stands 22 feet tall and has well over 100,000 pieces. This is a project I've been working on for the past few years, and it's finally nearing completion! This is just a quick preview showing some of the new design elements in this iteration. It still needs a couple more tweaks, but I'll be making a final video later this year. Yes, this is an April Fools joke. It is based off of the classic "Turboencabulator" script. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turboenc...

IT’S BETTER THAN ASAP SCIENCE
0:27 1:02
...5359 not 53589
One can very easily look up the digits of pi on any number of sources to verify that it is, indeed, 53589. It is possible you have a calculator with a 12-digit screen, in which case it might display pi as "3.14159265359", because "89" gets rounded up to "9", which is more accurate than simply truncating the last digit.
