No, I never tried Potenza Sport. I was just about to buy Potenza Race but they were too expensive and probably the wear was worse

Before deciding, I’ve asked so many questions to MTtuning, they were very professional and patient. I know some i30N owners that have their car tuned by MTtuning and have no issues.

How do you know the exact value? I just got an i30N DCT too. I only see a bar on the info screen and I have to estimate.

@@elcroato85 I assigned the star button on the infotainment system to N custom screen. Then I customized the widgets to show speed and oil temperature. I made a previous video to explain how to do it.

​@@jsmotorcafe, I took my car to the Vallei dei Templi autodromo and oddly enough, the max temperature was 136C for the oil after some hard laps. I have my suspicions that 136C is the max temperature that can be picked up by the sensor. Or have you gone higher since your response?

@@jsmotorcafe I live in La Palma recently famous because of its volcano. both are beautiful, but absolutely differents. ¿have you any problem with automatic gearbox?

⁠@@politicoinutilDCT is great! Super fast gear changes, not intrusive: it does what you want, doesn’t change gear in stupid ways. If you put it in manual you can hit the rev limiter and it doesn’t change automatically. If you’re on a Track you can leave it in auto and it activates N track sense shift, the car will put the best gear for the curve (take a look at my track day at Magione circuit). Only issue is that the gearbox is not very good in city traffic, it’s not smooth at all

@@jsmotorcafe As a owner of two with DSG gearbox I have to say is a very comfortable, soft and quite fast. But I´ve seen lots of I 30´s videos and in the most of them they say DCT is better than DSG. I’m a big fan of Mazda, the build quality is superior than Hyundai. What I appreciate about Hyundai N performance division is their goal to create fun cars to drive i20N is also a great car

@@jonathansciacca7033 for sure, the things Hyundai has been trying and accomplishing this past decade is commendable but when it comes to reliability, style and quality.. Hyundai is just not up there yet.

Anche in zona rossa. Non ti cambia da solo. - velocissimo - in uso sport / N mode anche in auto é pazzesco, in pista attiva la modalità N track sense shift, non sbaglia una cambiata, miglior marcia per la curva che devi affrontare . - Purtroppo nel traffico e in uso soft NON va bene, in discesa tiene spesso il rapporto troppo basso e nel traffico la frizione è troppo brusca. - premendo il tasto NGS sul volante hai cambiate ancora più veloci e secche per 20 secondi, é come se la macchina diventi indemoniata spingendoti in avanti ad ogni cambiata

I usually try to do the following: -last lap cool down the car - park the car without pulling the hanbrake - leave engine on for 1/2 minutes

Heaps of fun. Since I’m no pilot and the track was wet, I concentrated on keeping the optimal lines/trajectories so I kept in auto. The car detects that you’re on a track and activates track N sense shift. It works very well, optimal gear for each curve

I went to comment for the same question, the gear changes are on point. I haven't seen any car that can do that@@jsmotorcafe

Yeah I know not every country gets the hatchback I30N 😢 . Here in Italy we cannot spec the car …. No sunroof for us🤦🏻

Hi Nero, thanks for sharing your experience. Hyundai Made a car for petrol heads. I have just small complaints. The infotainment system for example has a dated design ,wish we had the i20N new version. Since Hyundai claims it’s a track oriented car they could have integrated the Hyundai N app(only available in Korea) directly in the infotainment. The car doesn’t handle city traffic so well, DCT clutch too clunky and fuel consumption sky high.

i daily it and floor it like it was meant to be🤣🤣🤣

@jonathansciacca7033 Well that's a Performance car for you. I didn't got the DCT as its cheaper to have a manual. Driving it each day with a DCT can be bit boring and pricy. Engine works very balanced but again the DCT as well as the Clutch itself wears quickly. Not to mention the Maintenance cost of one,but I am sure you knew what to expect from choosing a DCT. As for the infotainment system in not sure,mine works fine and I barely have issues. Maybe since mine is a 2020 model.

@hacimcim9946 As long as the engine is warmed up. Floor it like you mean it. I barely can floor it with the traffic around as well as the roads been converted to full lane instead of dotted.

The labour was 150€ the consumption 8.7lt/100km (=11.4 km /lt) If I’ll have issues with the infotainment system, probably the warranty will not be valid anymore. But I seriously doubt it, that’s why I chose to pay a professional.

@@jsmotorcafe I see some owners annoyed with some of the many security options: lane assist, forward collision assist, etc. What kind of setup do you use, did you disable any feature as being "dangerous"? Or disable something in town and re-enable on long trips/highways?

I have the exact same car. The best I've got is 7.8L/100KM pure highway in eco mode. Mixed/normal use is 10-12L/KM and worst when I'm thrashing the shit out of it, I've seen near 20L, 16-18L/100KM!!!

I’ve used the N for my summer vacation with Daughter + wife + 4 cabin trolleys +3 backpacks all fitted in the trunk. Over 2000 km in 1 week. Rome-Italian Alps 6 hours. Seats(the performance bucket version)are comfortable, if they had just a little more lumbar support they would have been perfect. the absence of the rear air vents is a downer.. but the dual zone climate system works very well and has air vents under the seats. What’s impressive is the general comfort when you set the eco mode . 120km/h the car glides in 8th… you spot a fast approaching car in the rear view mirror that flashes you have -Option A : signal the right arrow and give way , continue the family trip singing along 😂 -Option B : press NGS BUTTON and let Hell break loose, the car automatically down shifts to the best gear, sets everything to max power and gives some extra punch for 20 secs. Enough to say 👋 bye bye to most of cars on the road.

Very nice, thanks. I am almost convinced to buy one of these. The thing I am more afraid(even more than the fuel consumption) is the very "skinny" wheels/tires. Knowing the roads in my country(and other countries) I suspect bending a rim or cutting a tire might just be a disaster waiting to happen. How are yours holding up? Did you hit any bad potholes?

@@VD-is9pg I’m so afraid of holes on the Road. Here in Rome the situation is terrible. Hit a couple but with no consequences. But if you think about it, this type of car has to have 19” and sport tyres. Unfortunately you have to pay a lot of attention while driving to eventually avoid the big ones

@@jonathansciacca7033 I have made a prepayment/advance for a performance blue today, very excited, could receive it in september/october. Now, 235/35 R19 means 82-83 mm of "meat"(tire). And they only provide, by the book, an alternative of 225/40 R18 which equals 90 mm of real tire. Better by 7 mm, which is not much, but it is something, even though 18" drops total diameter(rim + tire) from 647 mm to 637 mm. Weird stuff, thank you Hyundai. Cannot use any other sizes or get punished by automotive authorities. What was your consumption during the 1 week, 2000 km vacation?
