My flowerhorn is in community tank and it has the Fin rot. Can I use melafix in the tank to cure fin rot or else do I need to Quarantine fish in a seperate tank to use melafix. I also have activated carbon. Do I need to remove that before using melafix?

Hey Ricky, from my experience, Java ferns prefer to be stuck to a rock and sat down towards the bottom of the tank. The rhyzome doesnt love to be buried, it will eventually rot/melt. Also, the holes in your leaves are likely a potassium deficiency. Check your aquarium co-op fertilizer and see how much potassium is in there. I dose excel potassium and it has helped tremendously. EDIT: Tell Al I said hi lol

Thanks for this. Just what i was looking for. I did this with my goldfish a long time ago.. but i quit the hobby for a long time. Now i just have a betta fish and i'm hoping it works for a betta in a small tank. I just discovered the Dayton Koi club.. this summer they did like a tour of their personal koi ponds.. So i went around to some of the members houses.. and they showed off their backyard ponds. Really beautiful ponds some of them have.. with little waterfalls and HUGE koi fish. i wish i could have a backyard koi pond!

Duck weed is a nightmare isn’t it. How it made it’s way into my tanks is a mystery, probably on a plant I bought. Such an epic task to get it out, takes forever. Fascinated by the Aqua Floras, keep us updated. When you showed the tiny leaves appearing on it, I thought, “hopefully it’s not duck weed” 😂 I like your relaxed and informative videos keep them coming 😁👍🏼🇬🇧

What is the best way to keep sponge filters down. Mine keep floating up. I had to put stone pebbles on it. The catfish keep knocking them down.. Still thinking to get fluval filter.

I saw some CZcamsr dry silicon adhesive (used for making aquarium) dry between glass and polycarbonate rectangles. Then cutting valves out of this silicon film. He claimed success.

Sir, you are a legend. I lost a fry this morning. Poor little thing was sucked up to the inlet of the filter. I wanted to change it to a sponge filter I had in the drawer but didn’t have another pump. Then I remembered that the pump I was using on the next tank along (I’ve got 9 tanks) had a double outlet, but only one was in use. I connected the sponge filter to the other port and nothing happened. So I started searching air pumps on Amazon and eBay and thought, NO ! There must be a reason WHY it doesn’t work. Now you’ve shown me that reason. Thank you so much. I’ve saved 12 quid and it will save little fry lives in the future ❤😊

Well...worked for about ten seconds when I plugged it in to check, and then shorted out completely when I tried to screw it back together while plugged in. Lesson learned, money wasted.
