Wine Cellar Construction
I had a fantastic time designing and building a wine cellar for a spare room in our basement. I built the wine racks from scratch and installed Lowe's SmartCore Pro Luxury Vinyl plank to complete the room. I learned a ton and gained more confidence in woodworking. Enjoy!

My sons, along with the rest of the country, seemingly, will be going to virtual school next year. My middle kid needed a desk for his room, so I decided to build him one! I began my construction process using sketchup to make the project easier. I am so proud of how this school desk turned out! music: www.bensound.com

    • @katcan7085
      @katcan7085 Před rokem

      Sorry for the late response. The room was already designed as an additional bathroom so it had green board. At this point we haven't added a cooling unit because, to be perfectly honest, we don't buy super expensive wine. We keep the good bottles we DO buy in the little wine fridge in the bottom right corner.

      We are not as we don't typically buy super expensive wine. It is in a basement, so it generally stays cooler down there anyhow, and we have all the heating vents turned off. For the good wine we DO buy, we place it in the little wine fridge in the bottom right corner of our cellar.

    • @katcan7085
      @katcan7085 Před 3 lety

      It is in a basement, so the temp is generally acceptable down there. For now, we have a hygrometer to monitor the humidity and run a humidifier as needed. Eventually we will install an actual system, but we kept it simple for now.

  • @awlthatwoodcrafts8911

    I envy your space. I've got the 1/2 part of a 2-1/2 car garage so I'm happy with the square footage, but I only have one wall to work with and even that is already mostly taken up. I agree with the french cleat comment. There's so much you can do, from wood storage to tool storage. I intend to maximize the wall space I have available with a french cleat system. A place for my clamps and a charging/storage station for my cordless drill and driver. Just those two things would make a huge difference for me. You have adequate floor space, you should think about an outfeed/assembly table. The Kreg table is nice, but I've seen you work so much on the floor, a larger bench to work at would be a benefit to you and your projects. Of course, I'm already 61 so my ability to work on the floor is just a blur in my rear view mirror. Lol
