    The one i have, on AC setting, it sits at 2.2 but on DC it sits at -0.000 and jumps up to 0.001 then resets. Whats the fix on this issue?

    This was my first decent multimeter. I bought it on sale and it came with the TL175 test leads. Sold it after a very short time because it doesn't even have a Rel function. I got the same price as I paid for it but I kept the leads so I got these for free 😂

      Try disassembling completely, and spraying down the main PCB (circuit board) with 90% (or higher) Isopropyl alcohol. Let it air dry for a few days, then re-assemble and see how it goes. Please share updates. Thanks for commenting, and good luck.

      @@MultimeterParts There is something burnt around the zinc covering the PCB, could that be the cause?🙏

    • @MultimeterParts
      @MultimeterParts Před 2 měsíci

      @@Dendyfeb yes, but clean with the 90% or higher alcohol. Make sure it's not surface rust. If it's obvious that it's burnt, then need to replace that component, if possible. Less replaceable parts on Fluke 87V, so may need to replace entire PCB. If it's only surface rust, then there is a chance it can be cleaned and brought back. Good luck! Thank you for your update!

    Kit no longer available. Contacted Fluke to repair my meter for this issue. No longer servicing the Fluke 87 True RMS, but I could buy a new one from them for nearly $400. I tried to have this repaired back when it started happening back in 1993~1994 timeframe, but they wanted $250 as a "repair fee". I paid $225 for the meter (maybe less). I wasn't happy for sure. :(

      @@spartanreece9908 Maybe I'm blind or have zero idea how to use the old fleabay any longer, but there are no 'screen' or 'kits' or pretty much anything for the Fluke 87. I guess I continue to take it apart, clean the pads, and move on. Probably the last Fluke I ever buy after their piss-poor customer service with me (and yes, since I bought the meter).

      Si la pantalla se desvanece, intente limpiar antes de reemplazar los conectores elastoméricos. Si es posible, ¿puede incluir una imagen de su medidor? Veremos si podemos diagnosticar. Gracias por tus comentarios. If the display is fading, try cleaning before replacing the elastomeric connectors. If possible, can you include a picture of your meter? We'll see if we can diagnose. Hola tengo un fluke 179 con la falla de batt como se puede solucionar esa falla

    • @MultimeterParts
      @MultimeterParts Před 7 měsíci

      Esto puede ser una falla de un componente interno. Reemplazar la batería con una que se sepa que está en buen estado no solucionará el problema, si este es el caso. Para diagnosticar, será necesario abrir e inspeccionar la PCB principal. Puede deberse a una prueba de sobrevoltaje en el medidor. Espero que esto ayude y gracias por tus comentarios. This may be an internal component failure. Replacing the battery with a known good battery will not fix, if this is the case. To diagnose, it will require opening up and inspecting the main PCB. It may be caused by testing over voltage on the meter. Hope this helps, and thanks for your feedback.

    • @MultimeterParts
      @MultimeterParts Před rokem

      When you state it's the same way, you mean the display is on VDC, for example, for all the functions? Is it all zeros? Try taking apart and making sure that the range selection knob is positioned correctly and that all the contacts are clean and in the proper place. I'll try to post a video of the Fluke 77IV, or compatible soon...if I have one. Thanks for reaching out. I hope this helps.

  • @jonathanforrest8858

    Hey man, I have a fluke 789 with resistance issues. Without any leads in the meter, it reads 5 megaohm bouncing around, and when I touch the leads together, it goes to -2.5 ohms. Do you have any idea what causes that? Or where I could find that out

    • @MultimeterParts
      @MultimeterParts Před rokem

      I've seen this before in an older Fluke 87. The cause was 1M resistor that was fried. Usually, unstable and inaccurate readings will be caused by faulty components. Problem is that the 789 has less PCB circuitry, and it might all be surface mount (smaller components and hard to replace). You'll have to open it up and see if any moisture has gotten in and caused any rusting. I'll try to post a video of a 789 breakdown if I have one. In the mean time, here's a link to the Service manual: assets.fluke.com/manuals/789_____cmeng0000.pdf Thanks for reaching out and I hope this helps.
