    I actually like Lang Lang's touch on the piano more; it's more sensitive. He doesn't bang the high notes like Kissin does, which is distasteful to me.

    "The Difference Between A Musician And An Entertainer". The title is really interesting. Does it mean a musician shouldn't aim to entertain audiences? So what's the point of listening to music? If we listen to music just for appreciating the excellence of musical works in the past, rather than the individuality of pianists themselves, why not to go for AI-generated music?

    How many people here commenting actually can play the piano proficiently or have a decent understanding of music, it’s structural features, timing, technical issues of location, what pieces sound good in certain places, the conveying and eliciting of emotion and what musical interpretation actually means? Most of the people bashing either of these pianist are either wanna be musicians or frustrated pianists that never got to a certain level. I bet a lot of people here pretending to be musicians could not even pass their grade 5 lol

    • @borkl3768
      @borkl3768 Před 16 dny

      Yeah I agree with you. The fact they’re competing those two with la Campanella is just hilarious. Both of them are just “skilled pianists” but are suck at understanding the music. Most of times when they play, they’re just unconscious about their expression. Once Kissin starts to play anything musical, it becomes a true disaster. I went to his concert this year, his Beethoven just scared me.

    AI have read a lot of criticism of Lang Lang. I'm not a musician but I love classical music. People who criticize Lang Lang, it seems to me, don't do so because they are frustrated, envious, racists. They do so, I understand, because they are lovers of classical music and do not feel that Lang Lang conveys a wide range of nuances and emotions, the magic behind the feeling as a result of an interpretation. They are not criticizing his instrumental huge capacity. Criticism of critics follows a pattern of fallacy. Argumentum ad hominem is an informal fallacy in the field of natural language. The argumentative pattern is characterized by the attempt to refute a propositional line by criticizing its author, and not its content.

    Where would Trifonov fit in? 😅 I understand the perspective of the video. Kissin is a standard bearer of the Russian Piano School. One can hear the huge sound, overarching architectural perspective, and ice pick precision in his playing, which are hallmarks of that pedagogical tradition. I am compelled to state, however, that anyone who can play this piece even reasonably well on stage, is a real musician. Incidentally, André Watts recorded a very nice interpretation of this piece IMO.

    Exactly you, you are (Ad of this channel) a cheap entertainer. You make this shocking compared-clip just to attract view to make some money. Kissin is a genius, but Lang Lang is a true musician. It's pretty nicely interpreted by Lang Lang. He is sort of conducting himself. So I like his play and his movements very much. It's at least as credible as any other performance by his colleagues. He's very much the contrast to Vladimir Horowitz who always seems to observe himself and doesn't allow himself anything that might distract his audience from the music.

    I see why this title on this video. It serves only the purpose of atracting curious people. The truth is they are both remarkable musicians and entertainers. It is impossible not having joy, fun, amusement, and also many other types of emotions when we listen to both of them. Particularly I still prefer Lang Lang´s performances. Wgo cares for hs facial expressions? Since when one should wear a mask to be a good performer? And if you listen carefully there is a small mistake in one of the notes kissin plays, and of course it means nothing.

    si bien es cierto que ambos pianistas son muy buenos, la interpretación de Kissin es mucho mas pulcra, mejores efectos del piano y forte y la claridad impecable.. no usa tanto el pedal... realmente admiro mas la interpretación de Kissin que la Lang Lang... y bueno que éste ultimo sea algo histroionico no desmerece su interpretación, pero en resumen Kissin es el mejor.

    Both are amazing but different and should be enjoyed and appreciated for their differences. Two incredible singers performing the same song will be different in interpretation but just as wonderful as each other, so why not with skilled instrumentalists.? I prefer some voices but we all have different taste in music . Music should be joyful to hear, a gift from God to humanity. Gifts to know how to make a piano, violin,trumpet, cello, etc.etc. And gifts of how to compose music, and gifts of ability to perform, coupled with very hard work over many years. The wonderful singer Dimash said that is was easy, just 25 years of study and hard work. This is the same for all who reach this high level in music skills. Let us enjoy their dedication and differences…… they are wonderful!!!!!!
