How to Assemble and Use a DRYWALL Lift - with TIMELAPSE!
This video will show you how to use a drywall lift to hang drywall on your ceiling in your unfinished basement. You'll see how to rent, assemble, and use a drywall lift, along with a timelapse of the job from start to finish. Special thanks to Mancycle Senior, and my buddy Jon, for their assistance!
I’m finishing the basement in our 40-year old home, and videoing each step along the way in a future bedroom. I am NOT a pro - just a self-sufficient DIYer finishing my basement on a budget. I've leveled the concrete and converted an old garage door threshold into an exterior door and window, built walls, and ran wiring. I could totally hire a pro to come in and hang this drywall for me, but why hire it out when I can build it on a budget myself???

    I think we just stumbled across something everyone should know. We spent $1,000 for a direct flight scheduled to take off at 2:19 with a boarding time of 1:54. We left our home at noon, the app still said on time. We arrived early and did everything the airlines recommend. The app or email never suggested a delay or cancellation. We sat at a bar next to the gate for 4 hours. The whole time, the departure board, gate and app said on time for a 1:54 boarding time and 2:19 departure. The plane was not at the gate, nobody from frontier was at the desk, the app and help line is worthless. At 4:00pm after spending hundreds at the bar with dinner, drinks and picking up the tab for a team of young soldiers I finally decided to call 911. The call was rerouted through airport communications, we argued a bit about the context and jurisdiction of the call. The dispatcher kept asking me if I tried to contact Frontier. What a joke. I insisted that this was theft and fraud, I paid $1,000 for tickets…the service included travel to NY on 9-9-2024 at 2:39pm. It’s now 4:00pm and the service was not provided and it showed on Frontiers end that everything was fine. He asked if I would like to talk to the Raleigh police department and I said yes. I explained the situation, they tried to dismiss it as a customer service issue, however I insisted that the service was never provided and that if I was a merchant who called the police informing them of petty theft an officer would be their in minutes arresting someone for stealing. Apparently, airport communications, the police department and frontier were all in contact during this 5 minute conversation. The officer informed me that someone was at the desk, and the board was being updated. Suddenly, a young man appeared, a line formed and he stood there for 30 minutes updating everyone. The departure board and gate immediately showed delayed. At the end of 30 minutes it was cancelled and 200 people flooded the ticket agent at the check in office. Lesson learned. When the airlines lie and ignore you. Call 911 and report it as what it is. Theft!!!

    I’ve noticed that you touched on stranded wire. I’m not a licensed electrician however, I am an electrical maintenance technician for over 45 years now. I work on high voltage systems up to 365 kV down to low voltage systems typically 480 V. I’ve done many more than I can count, complete switchboard wiring on old boards. Complete removal and rewiring. New components etc. typical wire is # 12 & 14 SIS. It is stranded wire. Any time I’m not running romex and I need to bend pipe, I pull stranded. #1 it’s much easier to tuck in the box. #2 and probably most importantly and many don’t realize, stranded wire has a higher current carrying capability. Current only travels on the outside surface. So on a stranded wire it travels on the outside surfaces of every stand. That’s actually increases the amperage capacity by at least twice. Though I certainly don’t suggest running a 14 on a 20 amp breaker, just to keep in mind you’re actually stressing the wire less. Please give me your thoughts.

    what you pictured when your video first started was a june bug NOT a japanese beetles. japanese beetles are half the size of june bugs and very bright colored. the june bug isnt destructive like the japanese beetles are.

    • @mancyclediy
      @mancyclediy Před 18 dny

      Im gonna have to disagree with you there - those are absolutely Japanese Beetles. Green thorax, copper colored wing colors, and 5 tufts of white hairs in a row along the abdomen. Those are most definitely Japanese Beetles.

    • @douglasmorrison9098
      @douglasmorrison9098 Před 18 dny

      @@mancyclediy Disagree all you want I worked in Pest control for Orkin Exterminating and know what a Japanese beetle looks like and what you pictured is a June bug which is an entirely different and Larger bug than the japanese beetle. June bugs are Dull in color where japanese beetle is half the size of june bugs and Brightly colored. June bugs are just that JUNE BUGS. They appear in very late may and are gone by the end of June and ARE NOT NEARLY DESTRUCTIVE. So if you want to correct someone about something Know what youre talking about Because this time you argued with someone WHO KNOWS THE DIFFERENCE Because I worked in the industry and Know the Difference. I did see one or 2 Japanese beetles in the mix But mostly what you were showing in those DULL colored bugs Were JUNE BUGS And all they do is take a little nibble on a leaf and leave WHEREAS a JAPANESE BEETLE Eats on the WHOLE LEAF until it destroys the tree plus Japanese beetles go after your fruit trees and garden June bugs DONT they go for a little nibble on one leaf of a Regular tree NOT A FRUIT TREE and THEY NEVER GO AFTER YOUR GARDEN OR FLOWERS Know your insects before you go after them . Youre one of those people who will kill a Honey bee because you dont know the difference

    • @mancyclediy
      @mancyclediy Před 17 dny

      Hi @douglasmorrison9098 I wanted to offer some possible reasons why you think you are seeing June Bugs in the video, along with some evidence that these are, indeed, Japanese Beetles. And I am hopeful that you will allow yourself to receive this disagreement in a positive, or at least neutral, way. I offer you 4 points to consider: #1. You mentioned that June Bugs are dull in color, while Japanese beetles are brightly colored. Yes, you are correct. If you are viewing on an older TV, or from a phone with the brightness turned down, then you are not seeing the vibrant nature of the coloration on these Japanese Beetles. These beetles have a bright green thorax, and copper colored wing covers. Additionally, the tell-tale sign that these are Japanese Beetles, and NOT June Bugs, are the 5 sets of white hairs on the underside of the abdomen. June bugs will never have these 5 sets of white hairs. And these hairs are visible in all of the footage in this video. #2. You mentioned that June Bugs will not bother fruit trees and garden plants. Please notice that the footage in this video was only taken from my garden and orchard. The tree that you see me spraying is a plum tree, and I chose to show this tree in the video because Japanese beetles LOVE my plum tree. In your own words, June bugs would not be bothering any of the plants that you see being fed on in this video. #3. You mentioned that Japanese beetles are smaller than June bugs. I just want to remind you that objects in the video are smaller than they appear, especially if you are viewing the video on a TV. Many of these shots are “close-ups” of Japanese Beetles. Without an image of both types of beetles side-by-side in the video, we cannot assume anything about relative size. #4. And finally, June Bugs are nocturnal. People most often see them in the evening and night, and typically they are attracted to the lights on a porch or in a garage. Please notice that all of the footage of Japanese Beetles in this video was taken during the DAYTIME. And this makes sense, as Japanese beetles are diurnal (active during the day). I hope this helps alleviate any confusion. Have a great day, Joe - Mancycle

    Flights are not cheap. Add $150 for seat, one checked bag and a refund if you have to cancel 24 hours before departure. Boarding is confrontational, the agents are intimidating with this new found power. I was boarding and an agent said Your carryon is too big! I had to step out of line, stick my bag in the contraption, which it fit into. She said well we have to check it anyway, but we won’t charge you. She grabs my bag, tags it and tells me to pick it up at my destination. If I had said one word, I would not have been on that flight. It was gestapo behavior. Electrical tape will pull those eggs right off without hurting your plant.

    Thanks for that. Do you build a hammock for each melon?

    • @mancyclediy
      @mancyclediy Před měsícem

      Hi Karl, I do not typically add a melon hammock. They seem to do fine without it, but that may vary depending upon the variety. I like Ambrosia which are a small to medium melon.

    And how does that supposed to help me. All you done was show me what a squash bug looks like. Didn't help me one bit. Anybody can show me a bug. Show me what to do about them.

      Dear Mr. Wildman Dave, sorry to hear about your disappointing viewing of this video. Do not worry, Mr. Mancycle INSISTS on issuing you a full refund. He's a kind man, that Mancycle. A gentle soul, really.

    Great use of “what for.” This video helps a lot. I’m flying for the first time and I didn’t know how they measure at the airport. 😅

    Up to 12,000 years old they can be much older than that in North America regardless of what mainstream archeologist says Clovis people started showing up around 20,000 years ago and likely a few thousand years earlier. There's also a good chance that man was here around 200,000 years ago when the land bridge from Russia to Alaska was open during a ice age.

    The stupid grubs are lawn destroyers too. I've heard that Seven kills pollinators along with the pests though. Do you happen to know if that is correct? I've been avoiding using it because I don't want to hurt honeybees or butterflies etc.

    • @mancyclediy
      @mancyclediy Před měsícem

      @bonnieamirault3782 Great Question. Your pollinators will be visiting flowers, so avoid using Sevin on anything with flowers to avoid hurting pollinators. I use Sevin on my fruit trees in June as beetles arrive, which is about 2 months after that last petals fall from those trees, so no pollinators are around them. Sevin will DEFINITELY hurt beneficial insects like pollinators, so you need to be very intentional about where and how you are using it if you are going to minimize your impact. Good luck!

    Do not squish! they produce even more eggs that way. Best is insects, but if out of control it is better to trim it if you can and throw it out. then spray water. then if all that fails a pump sprayer filled with water, Bronner's castile soap and peppermint oil. dries them out and repels ants. the aphid herders.
