A bit of backstory about Håkan Hemlin and this song. During the 90 early 00s he struggled with narcotics so for many people back in the day that had the same problems this became "their song" because it's a story about getting out of addiction. Finns dislike Sweden because we owned them for hundreds of years, I think it's time to get over that crap now since we sent tens of thousands of soldiers to help them stay free from Russia. Saw this musical in Stockholm in the 90s. Amazing! And I listened so much to the album, and sang some of the songs in my singing lessons. ”I gott bevar” and ”Ljusa kvällar om våren” are two of my favourites. I think ”I gott bevar” was the last song in the musical. When Kristina dies. 😢

So many memories to this. Saw the musical live when it played in Malmö,Sweden and it was so amazing. A memory for life.

my favorite swedish hiphop are Yasin (current rapper, biggest in sweden i would say) The latin kings (love 90s hiphop) Kapten röd (very reagge inspired) Jelassi (pretty new artist, love her!) Labyrint (have kinda that 90s sound)

the early rap you heard is how a lot of hiphop sounded in the 80s, orginated from the US. the hiphop we know today we take a lot from the 90s, where the hiphop genre started getting big.

Helen Sjöholm sings her song in a musical and her song is the main song, and she need to be express all feelings soo they are recognized by the audience. New Kid sings his version direct to his mum, you don’t need to express yourself the same way then. BOTH versions is perfect in their context

I think he said he sang this song as an appreciation for his mom, while Helen sang it from desperation for God in a musical. So I think it's all natural that he doesn't have the same "feeling" as Helen. I think this is a good rendition.

The original is just a million times better. It's quite bold to take on this song. 100x fewer and weaker emotions
