Having spent the night at Upper Royal Basin and arriving just at the beginning of the Summer Solstice the day before, the next morning I awakened early to catch the alpenglow on Mount Deception and the surrounding peaks. I blasted up to Royal Basin Thursday and arrived at the top just as the Summer Solstice began. I spent the night there with the basin to myself as is usually the case and made my way out the following morning. Full vlog to come.
