Lost Destructive Dave level
I found this level on an early backup of Destructive Dave from August 2019. It was supposed to be a spoof of Target but I lost interest in this level for some reason. I think in a certain sense, backups are like a time capsule. You could continue where you left off today but you don’t know what you were thinking in the moment the file was saved five years ago. Chances are I was like "I’m getting kinda tired, I’ll work on this tomorrow” then that day never came.

The map for Heckturd was tested in RC Racer 2 first before I figured out which engine I’d use to build the game. Godot 4 can have textured objects, but so far I can only get vertex colors to render, which I think I’ll go without textures in favor of better lighting. This map is in the final update to RC Racer 2.

First thing I do to check my work on my set pieces is to simulate realistic lighting. This is a 50s era smoker house with a long line of bad owners. The carpet was installed in 1976.
