LS1 Coolant Bypass Mod for Throttle Body - Before and After
zhlédnutí 37Před 14 dny
Showing how to bypass the Coolant from going to the Throttle Body. The coolant is originally ran through the throttle body to warm it up in cold environments and prevent freezing on long drives. If you only drive your car in non freezing temps or live somewhere its summer year round like I do, then all it does is make your throttle body hot, increasing your Intake air charge temperature. Use a ...

Doing the Throttle Body Coolant By Pass on a 2012 Mazda 3 2.5 Hatchback. I live on the Gulf Coast so I never see frigid temps and therefore do not require the throttle body to be heated up by coolant. Quick and easy way to drop intake air charge. I do not have an exact reading as to how much the intake air charge was dropped because the IAT sensor is integrated into the MAF which is pre throttl...
Waverunner Free Flow Exhaust Before and After

Side by side comparison of some Free Flow Exhaust I installed on my dad's 2011 Yamaha VXR probably a decade ago. Basically just made it slightly louder with no side effects of making it any faster. Its just a 3.5" 45 degree Aluminum Bend and a 3.5" Silicone 90 degree Elbow. I did have to rotate the water box just a little to get it to line up. Decible meter amzn.to/3KNmT6F
Coolant Temp Fluctuating on Warm Up 2007-2013 Silverado 1500

My truck was having an issue where the coolant would fluctuate a lot during warm up. I thought this was due to air in the system but after a flush and thermostat replacement I had no luck. Only until I replaced the ECT Sensor did it fix the issue. Vehicle is a 2012 Chevy Silverado 1500 5.3 with 172K miles

ThanK you thank you thank you, finally proof that tips do change the sound
Lets gooooooo!! Looking forward to a breakdown of the results..some 0-60 testing would be nice as well!
@@0P0M0 perhaps we can convince Agent P (A.P. motorsports) to do some footage on the challenger.
If we can try to get some more results, we will post them. Unfortunately, I didn't really get much results with this one as far as testing Intake Ait Temps. I do still think the mod can be beneficial, though
Whats the purpose of the hellcat air box? My thought was the hellcat air box would have lessened the AIT. Judging by the video, it doesn't look like it changed the temp. Is there a way to test the volume of air taken in by the air box?
I thought the "tube" portion would act as a Ram Air and cool off Intake Air Temps but it didn't do that at all. Theoretically, it brings in more volume of air but I don't think it's even necessary in a 5.7 application where as the Hellcat requires the extra volume. Still a cool and affordable mod I think, though
Idk about you my man but to me its a huge difference. The 4 inch tips sound more deeper aggressive and aportive.
Where did you buy the headers from?
@gavinpetty07 I purchased them from www.texas-speed.com/. ARH does make all their headers to order, mine took about 3 months to come in.
Would like to see a comparison for towing. I have a 2012 Silverado 4.8L and it struggles. I plan to swap in a 5.3 crank/rods and 4.10's.
ITS NOT THE TIPS!!! Its the placement of where the exhaust comes out. Notice how "no tips" essentially turns it into a dump exhaust which reverberates under the car, where as the tips stick it behind the car for a smoother sound....
I do think placement is a contributing factor, too. A lot of exhaust that is "dumped" under the vehicle sounds deepish. And I have heard some that the exhaust extends way past the bumper, and it screams. I wish I could do a test with the same exhaust setup and same tips but just have one "dumped" under the vehicle, and then another extended like a foot past the bumper.
Holy shit your car is sweet 💪💪💪 nice vid man
What's the biggest difference from short and long headers I was always told short will give you more on the torque and the lungs will give you more mid-range and more top speed to be honest I really don't know
I think old-school cars used to get more top end from short tubes and more bottom end with long tubes. Now, the main difference is just cost. Short tubes seem to add about 10hp and a little more sound while long tubes add about 25hp and a lot more sound. These short tubes are valued just under $600 and a really good set of longtubes can be $1500+. The main thing why the long tubes cost more is you have to change the Y pipe (which long tubes come with)
@@APMotorsports0 I bought a set of Shorty's a long time ago and finally had them put on my 86 Camaro I never got to finishing it up I was always confused on would it be more power more top speed and I could have said that backwards I need to get the finishing that thing up one day
the point of coolant running through the throttle body? How does one know if their car has a coolant filtered throttle body? When will you do more cool pulls😎
Did someone inspect the jack stands?
Great video! Can we do a K20 next?
I would like to, but I do not have access to a vehicle with a K20. I did it on a J35 a while ago and it made a difference
Seems faster with the lower stall too lol it really boosts off that 1-2 shift
The cam is a mid/high range cam, so the lower stall allows the full powerband to be used. Very large stalls are for very large Cams that keep the rpms very high all the time where the larger cam makes all it's power
Nice Challenger 😎
Vroom vroom
Beautiful, I do want to put headers and a cam on my Silverado but I have no clue what cam to get, do you have any plans on camming your truck if so do you have any advice or tips on what to look for
If I ever have a lifter go out on it I'll cam it. Personally I'm going to go for the BTR torque cam cause I like the cleaner idle and bottom end torque. Really popular ones are the BTR truck norris cam cause it has a really choppy idle, good bottom end torque and good top end. Another one is the TSP stage 2 truck cam, nice sounding idle, good power gains and not really any drivability lose. My only advice would be is not to "over cam" it. CZcams seems to be obsessed over dyno numbers and quarter mile times since that's all they can really compare to via vidoes. What they fail to mention is drivability, anything that requires a stall converter I suggest not using in a daily drive application as it will have zero bottom end power.
Im also going with a BTR cam on my challenger. They have a really good reputation
That will be 3300$
Huge difference. Beautiful sounding engine. Sucks that it’s automatic though
Excellent demo,? Is there anything else at play here?
It's just the long tube headers and Y pipe is the difference
Simple and to the point and finally a video without hip hop music playing in the background👍
Why orange?
The orange ones are larger in diameter and fill up the puncture better
What’s the difference between
A day later looks like somebody poured Pam on it and every single piece of dust that came near is now stuck on it
Yeah, I don't think it's the best long term solution for headlight restoration, but it was quick and easy curious to see how long it will last.
Bonjour c'est quel produit pour se résultat
It lasts about 6 months
Fantastic video mate! Thanks heaps!
2k sounded the best🤤🤤
I think the pace setters were better
That seems to be the more popular choice. The Pacesetters are Unequal Length primaries, and the American Racing headers are Equal Length primaries. The Pacesetters are also significantly more affordable.
That thing sounds sick!
Might need some Robitussin
What gear ratio are you running
3.23
Whats the purpose of coolant passing through the throttle body
To eliminate freezing in snow ❄️ with hot climate, it's useless
Whats the purpose of having coolant run through a throttle body?
If you live somewhere cold it's to prevent icing in the throttle body. I live somewhere hot so all it does it heat up the throttle body
It has been about 3 months still holding ok?
It's been holding so far. I haven't put alot of miles on the bus, maybe 50 miles or so.
Love the comparison video. Your car sounds amazing!
Next time you should do a cover of you singing instead if everything being quiet when showing removal and instillation
Cool video
A little warm.... yea right😂
Great Video!
Fuck them 4 inch tips sound good!
Wonder if I could do this with my car
Nicely done. Beautiful explanation. Concise without dragging out the video. Beautifully captured sound clips that get right to the point.
Mobile tunnel!!!
I think 4.10’s are a really good rear gear ratio.
Wheres 4000rpm!
Unfortunately when it's in Neutral or Park it has a fuel cut off at 3800rpms and won't let you rev any higher to protect the engine. If it didn't have one I was willing to do a 5500rpm hit
DJ make that remix😅
Amazing video! You did a fantastic job showing the difference without talking for 5+ years
Do you think I should get a 2 step for my 2019 challenger?
At 65mph. I’m at 2200 Rpm. On a Chevy avalanche. Anyone know why ?
4.10 gears with stock size tires could potentially be it. Do you know what gearing is in it?
@@APMotorsports0 you’re right. It is a 4.10 with stock wheels. I would prefer lower rpm’s at highway speed
@adamnunez2260 you would have to change to a different gear ratio like 3.73, 3.42 or 3.23. Might hurt gas mileage but you could try taller tires.
What trans does your Avalanche have?
