This time I didn't had any help holding the audio recorder separately so I went for holding it myself and shooting wide angle with my phone camera.
This really conveys the impression of how loud these jets actually are! At times the jet is so far away you can hardly see it in the video but the noise it makes is VERY present!
I hope you guys enjoy it anyway!

Nationella Totalförsvarsdagen, JAS 39E Gripen. This a flyby performed by the brand new SAAB 39 Gripen E, formerly known as the Gripen NG, Next Generation. The engine sound is remarkable since this flyby was performed with zero afterburner! The jet is said to be able to super cruise - the sound of the engine hints to that I believe! JAS 39E Gripen. This video showcases the Swedish Air Force annual christmas tree formation flight. This formation is made up by 8 JAS 39 Gripens followed by a SAAB SK-60(not in frame but you can hear it quite well). What this film don't really get across is how insanely loud they are on take-off... I was doing some rigging in a cell tower in Linköping with these guys taking off and landing all day only a couple hundred meters from me. Good thing I had a harness on for the first one...
Yea... it's quite breathtaking and jaw dropping to say the least.
They might be loud on takeoff but my experience is that it is way quieter in flight than the F/A-18 that I saw on a flight show. Living nearby an airbase of Gripen makes you used to a certain level of noise which doesn't even bother me that much at its loudest (at low level), but I wasn't prepared for the deafening rumble of the American planes, and they were way way up high.

01:55 <3 Starkaste minnet från min barndom är flygflotiljens dag på F7 i Såtenäs 1991 när mellanstadieklasser från hela västsverige fick en viggenuppvisning. På den tiden fick de fortfarande flyga över publiken. Två AJ37 Viggen startar, den ena försvinner bort på låg höjd medan den andra börjar sitt uppvisningsprogram. Sedan kommer den som smög iväg tillbaks i nära ljudets hastighet och på mycket låg höjd bakom publiken och överraskar alla med en överflygning med EBK tänd så att gräset på ängen lägger sig platt och man känner vibrationerna i hela kroppen. Ljudet, vibrationerna, värmeflimret och lukten av oförbränt flygbränsle, den upplevelsen lockar fram en tår än i dag. Fy faaen vad mäktigt. Saknar Viggen.
Gripen låter ganska fint den med men kan inte mäta sig i ljudupplevelse eller rå styrka :)
A technical question but what camera did you use and can you somehow attach the Zoom microphone on it? Or did you just hold it? 🤓
I recorded the video with a Canon HF G50 at 1080p 50fps. The Zoom microphone was held by my fellow traveller. As of right now I don't know how and if I should attach the Zoom to the camera or just keep going with the two-man approach. The sound source is so big and far away anyway so the distance between camera and microphone becomes negligible 😊distance between mic and camera also eliminates unwanted camera handling noises!

Yes, we were in Karlskrona on 13.08. at the marina day. It was a very interesting event with the Swedish Navy helicopters and ships👍🏻
