    Hi , can Reflexive verbs be used in Causative forms or vice versa ?? THNX

    • @ItalianwithGermana
      @ItalianwithGermana Před měsícem

      Ciao @niccolowadia3761 and thank you for your question! Given the definition that a verb is considered reflexive when it has the same subject and direct object, this combination doesn't apply to causative verbs, which - on the contrary - require the subject to be different from the object. Notwithstanding this, in the major group of reflexive verbs, you may also find the so-called 'verbi reciproci' (e.g. abbracciarsi, incontrarsi), which require the subject and the object to undertake the same action on each other. In this case, the causative verbs may be combined with these 'verbi reciproci'. An example: 'mi sono fatto abbracciare da Maria' (literally: I made Maria hug me). This could sound like a strange example, but it is not grammatically incorrect to say. Hope this responds to your question! Ciao!😊

    Hi Germana. One quick question about the pronunciation of the “E aperta”. I noticed that some, but not all, native speakers seem to pronounce “E aperta” like an “ei” sound. For example, in words like “potevo“ it sounds to my ears like some are saying “poteivo” or in “crederete” it sounds like “credereite”. Is this a regional difference or is this how the “E aperta“ should be pronounced in standard Italian? Grazie Mille.

    • @ItalianwithGermana
      @ItalianwithGermana Před měsícem

      Ciao @8717d 😊, thank you for your message! So, it is a fact that each region in Italy has its own specific dialect and consequently pronunciation. For this reason, you may easily find people pronouncing a word with an 'E chiusa' in the north, and maybe find others pronouncing the same word with a 'E aperta' in the south, or the other way around. I can certainly tell you that in troncated-stress words like 'caffè', the 'E' should be 'aperta', and in words like 'perché' the 'E' at the end of the word should be 'chiusa'- These are just two examples that I hope will help you clarify the pronunciation of the E.

    Grazie per tantissime informazione della bella cultura italiana. Posso dire che a Brasile la parte de la messa ed i giorni santi è molto simile. Brasile è un paese gigante, siamo 220 milioni , la maggior parte di cattolici. Ma la parte del cibo è diversa. Abbiamo la colomba e l'uovo al cioccolato. Buongiorno Germana! I’m getting brave enough to try forming sentences in Italian. Can you explain the difference between stato and fosse and how to use them? For example: when do you use stato trattato and when do you use fosse trattato? Grazie Mille!

    • @ItalianwithGermana
      @ItalianwithGermana Před 3 měsíci

      Ciao @8717d! Thank you for your question! First of all, 'stato' is the past participle of the verb 'essere' (to be), whereas 'fosse' is the subjunctive mood (congiuntivo imperfetto in Italian) of the same verb, conjugated in the 3rd pers. sing. Check my video on the subjunctive to know more about this interesting mood in Italian on this link: czcams.com/video/_ySoLCQQFkk/video.html However, In the examples you shared, I believe that 'stato trattato' misses the full auxiliary verb 'essere'. It can be 'è stato trattato' (Passato Prossimo in Italian). You can have a closer look at the Passato Prossimo in Italian here: czcams.com/video/pR5WW5GYYa0/video.html); or it can also be 'sia stato trattato' (please refer to the Subjunctive mood video for this). Hope this clarifies and enjoy your Italian language journey!✨

    • @ItalianwithGermana
      @ItalianwithGermana Před 2 měsíci

      Ciao @@8717d! Yes, there is! 😊 'promettilo/-a' means 'promise it' (-lo refers to masculine objects, whereas -la refers to feminine objects). While 'promettiglielo/-la' means 'promise it to him/her' (where 'lo again refers to masculine objects and -la to feminine objects)! So grammatically speaking, we are talking about direct and indirect object pronouns, which you can also combine (as for 'promettiglielo/-la) to form the so-called combined object pronouns! Again, I have a video to suggest to you, if you want to go in-depth with this grammar point: czcams.com/video/O93RzP-6wo4/video.html Hope it helps! Best,

    I have a question, but didn’t know who to ask. In English, to say that you don’t speak certain language well, or that someone speaks certain language well, you use this structure for example: My English isn’t very good; or his English/italian, etc. is very good. But I’m not sure if I have heard this equivalent to be said in Italian: il mio italiano.e non buono, or il suo inglese e buono... Would it be awkward to use this structure in Italian?

    • @ItalianwithGermana
      @ItalianwithGermana Před 7 měsíci

      This is a very interesting question! The structure of the phrase is correct, but as you said it would sound a little bit awkward to a native. You would more often hear ‘non so/parlo bene l’inglese’ or ‘(non) sono bravo/-a in inglese’! Hope it clarifies!☺️ thanks again for this question!
