I think is working as intended, mainly due to how it doesn't kill the decks it usually hits but does force the player to have to at a minimum think about when they can play those one of's or risk them. Yes when it comes down to going for game that's when you'd want to play them, but at that point the same could be said for a number of other cards in decks that people would openly defend. The Number of times I've run into a jamming Paildramon into imperial leaving me with 1 security and a dream of drawing into removal (that could just lead into partition and game next turn) is still crazy to me when the deck didn't get hit and guess who is topping right now. I agree you can say the game needs to be slowed down a bit, though I would say it would take banning/limited most of the cards in the game to do so (some of which some would want to see get slammed just because their deck gets screwed by it (Venusmon is balanced and innocent)). I don't think the game is in a bad place but in all honesty could benefit from more verity in how the archetypes interact with one another as well as keeping decks unique playstyle. As really good generic cards seem to only create more harm than good here.

two words for this ban list: not enough mirage untouched, magnax not limited (like how tf are you supposed to remove a card that gets imunity every turn + has armor purge????), aside from nume, we are prob still going to see fast paced decks because magnax is still a thing.

This got first place, with no field wipes, playing the tiger at more than 1 for name, kumbi at 1 so no draws, no other tamers than cool boy so you dont punish ukkomon rookie...what were you matchups because i feel like you lucked out.

by now i feel like the dood that makes the banlist likes certain digimon more then others... sounds stupid but is there a reason why mirage gaogamon didn't get another hit aside from one that didn't rly change much long ago? The deck still sees so much plays and 1st places. Aside from that, to slow down the meta a bit they would need to hit so much more. I play a loogamon deck mainly, and with the Bowmon from BT14 and the current suport you can easily get your opponent down to 0 in turn 2, if you still had another digimon from turn 1 it's game. (unless something like an ace comes around to block anything from that) And that deck hardly sees any plays in meta when compared to others. So wtf how fast is the meta if that is not something that gets played Oo? (and yeah, imo it's pretty consistent... maybe i'm just lucky.) But allover the speed the meta needs to have atm just isn't fun anymore, i switched to digimon to get away from ygo, not to see the raise of another ygo card game......

I agree. Limiting to 1 isn't as impactful as it once was with how much search there is now. Especially given that decks (not just purple decks nowadays) can recycle from trash without a significant amount of effort therefore the 1 of can get recovered.

They needed to just ban blue koh and sayo. Solves loops and any future loops.

i have to hard disagree with many of your takes, setting the ukko and lui to 1 massively decreases the power of these decks. yeah you sometimes got the 1 of but it still is much weaker or much more incosistent than before. The problem also were plays like ukko into lui into ukko into ukko but these things wont happen anymore. A banlist shouldnt be there to outright kill things but balance them instead and with that change they did. They still made it playable but made it much weaker. Besides saying only nume x got hit and the deck ist still playable is insane. This deck lost 9 keycards which made this deck strong and you were like yeah haha i can easily search each one of or have them in my start hand. Furthermore then problem with hammer spark is it being blue and blue has more search right now than other decks. Besides havin no drawbacks and even a security effect it was really powerful.

So as a new player I don't have a great concept of what constitutes "good and bad" decisions for the overall health of a game. Having played a few other TCGs casually I can say that Bandai seem very light handed. I am not convinced that's a bad thing. My biggest gripe with the rules is; I don't know (remember as a new player) what BT & EX releases are still valid. Like can I still use BT01 stuff? EX02 cards? Now I appreciate any help but the rules should be crystal clear on this.

You're spot on with your opinion. Another problem I see is, down the line, maybe even at the end of 2025, reaching a critical mass of certain effects. For example, what does it matter that Apocalymon is at one, when there could be four versions of it at some point in the future. Even if each of them would get limited, you could still fill out your lvl 7 slots. I already notice this with HPD, Green Memory Boost, Agility Training, soon Green Scramble. I believe sooner or later Bandai will have to ban some offenders instead of just limiting.

The Rosemon archetype relies heavily on suspending opponent's stuff and offers a fair bit of power when swinging (for cheaper options the old starter palmon and togemon might be worth brewing with), but doesn't easily keep them suspended for long and as such it has one glaring flaw in its current state imo: the lack of piercing. I sincerely hope some future supports (possibly in the lv4 or 5 inherited effects department) will be able to cover that part, perhaps after BT19 the R&D could take notice and proposr a solution to that.

I would really like to see BT14 Patamon or BT14 TK hit because the free evo and recovery + memory is a really strong combination, especially in Armor Vaccine

I would hit ukkomon promo because you evolve for free and gain 1 when raising. Emissary is the yellow version of hpd so making it at 1 would be fair. Shoto Kazama and Mother D reaper just be pair restricted. I wanna play both ukkos because they re making Machinedramon playable. Exveemon as well cause its too much mem gain and gives jamming to Paildramon

site doesn't seem to be available 10 months later. I really fell off this game and I'm (obviously) a huge digimon fan. Its my childhood. This TCG FOUND me when I was lost in all other TCGs and was falling off of them. I want to get into it so badly but I would like a client like all the other mainstream tcg's have. I love the idea of taking the time online to grind for packs and in game currency to boost your collection and I think bandai really missed the mark by not making one. From what I can tell they've never really showed interest in producing an app and would rather pump out sets after sets which is fine it's there IP but it would be nice for them to make an official app for the game it would really boost the playerbase just because a lot of shops in small towns and small areas just aren't able to get product as quickly/consistency. The app might honestly change that by having a higher playbase they might be able to produce more product. Please Bandai, Please.

Big disagree on a Mirage hit. (Biased Mirage player opinion incoming lmaooo) So one of the reasons I play Mirage is because it actually has an out to what the current, and previous meta has thrown at us. For this one in particular, lets take Magnamon X for example and it's immunity. Mirage players swapped off BT11 MachGao for BT13 MachGao so we can't be redirected, even though that BT13 Mach was NEVER a thing before this meta. I love that this deck can adapt to what's happening around it. I feel it has no super big winning matchups to the top tiers, but almost goes even with many of them, and I love being able to compete with Nume, Magna, Yellow Vaccine, 7GDL, etc etc One thing I'd also like to call out, is where do we draw the line at what needs to be banned? In JP for example, we know for sure that AncientGaruru and Nume are top of the top, better than everything else by a mile. Let's say we hit Ukkos, and that's it. Considering that would hit those two decks, maybe knocking them down to where Mirage, Imperial, Magna, etc etc is, wouldn't that be a good thing in a way? Because if they bury a deck like Nume or Ancient, they'll have to hit all the decks I just listed as well no? I feel like this is a slippery slope lol ALSO, people who say BT11 Mirage to 1? That straight up kills the deck, no other Mirage is worth playing whatsoever, and I genuinely hope they don't go that route. If it were me, hit the Ukkos to 1, call it a day and see what the meta has to offer, idk.

There’s been a method of giving goagamon jamming dedicated in the deck since BT-11 but for some reason people refuse to use Nicolai.

Megidramon/ChaosGallantmon is my favorite deck, and it's awful in the current meta. No amount of losing with it will make me love it less.

Personally I wanna see BT-16 Davis and Ken to be limited to 1. Card does too much for one tamer and I keep straight up losing to Imperial no matter what because of it. Combo ban both Ukkos from each other Combo ban Patamon and Magnamon X. I genuinely think Armor Vaccine was a mistake and that needs to be rectified. Straight up ban the entire Numemon list. Just ban. The crimes that deck has committed needs to be accounted for 😂

Nooo way they will hit mirage burst, we're more than likely going to get a bt4 Thomas hit first before that. Mirage is good but it's still suseptible to most of the decks in the meta, bunnies can't be bounced, magna x unaffected, nume dedigi, vaccine dp reduction, they all have counters. While an otk is likely some games the overall match is not generally in Mirage's favor, you need a good pilot and alot of luck.

Mirage is played because the meta is the way it is. He counters Ukkomon BT16, ignores attack redirect and bounces all the poop deck stuff as well as Armor Purge. If they hit the decks that should have been hit few months ago (Poop stuff, Patamon decks and prohibit the use of certain things like Ukkobros, Shoto + Mother, limit the Magna option and new Imperial option and Emissery) then single stack deletion will be back in the meta. Also, the BT17 meta is mostly focused around hybrids and things like SoC that both deal with Mirage for a low memory cost. MagnaX will also stay in the meta but hopefully the Vaccines will be hit enough for it to just be a good deck not a meta leader. Limiting Mirage Burst mode might make people happy cuz they are essentially removing the otk option the deck has but let's not forget the meta before the last ban list and that before MagnaX came into the picture Mirage wasn't really played as much and had about 8 tops from beginning of BT15 to the end of BT16 in all Asian regionals and bigger tournaments. I can even see decks like BWG coming back and even further limiting the potential of Mirage with tamer removal. This is why I'd wait a bit and see how the deck continues to perform with these changes before limiting BT11 Mirage rather than anything else.

Limiting the ukkos would hurt low tier decks get in the game. But limiting pair nume and ukko other decks can still use you ukko but not abuse it in nume?

I was not expecting RB1 Monzaemon to be picked. I never thought it was a problematic card. I suppose some decks struggle to get rid of it if they fall behind too much. Great video btw! It's lovely to see everybody's face ♥

BT11 MirageGaogamon over Burst Mode as the card is more oppressive being an all turns skill. Davis & Ken from BT16 is a card with too much value in my opinion. Promo Ukkomon should be the one getting limited as the new one is kinda more balanced being a 1 cost to digivolve onto an egg. The real question is though, what can come back or what can back as a two of right now

I'm just not looking forward to the banningnof ukko and yellow vaxx (as much as I hate them) and then mirage and fuckin imperial run rampant as the best decks, uncontested. Hell, even dorugoramon at that point would likely be ungodly levels of obnoxious. Honestly though, I suspect the only reason we are getting a list is to sell new product lmfao. Magnamon sold a set, bt16 ukko sold a set, ukkomons and lui helped sell ancientgaruru (deck just doesn't compete without ukko) and now they need these cards gone to sell new product, which is fair enough I guess. Just really not looking forward to playing nothing but fuckin imperial; deck is easily just as turbo aids as nume, magna, or ancient but it gets a pass because it's "archetypal", as if it's somehow not utterly infuriating losing to jamming exvee swing, jamming pail 2x swing, option into dragon mode floodgate with fighter in hand. Just really hate how this game has gotten tbh And that's not even to touch mirage which otk's you and you can do nothing about it also.

The issue with ukko is desiging decks that don't need level 3s to advance their board state. Nume, Hybrids, etc. It's a game design issue more than a card issue. If ukko was as broke as people seem to think, you'd see 8 of it in everything. The reality is you don't. And a lot of decks even cut ukko completely cause you can't evolve on it and there's times any other rookie would have been better.

The pair banning or the ukos sounds like the best idea or limit its number in combination with Lui...

15:29 I think the correct Japanese pronunciation it's something along the lines of "Sūtsēmon"; I recently had a Tamers re-watch and the anime pronunciation coincides with the original name romanization. I don't know if the "Sūtsē-" part it's actually a correct Chinese pronunciation of "Zhuqiao", but it's just nitpicking at that point. That said, this video came up at the right time, I've wanted to build this as my first deck since one year ago I got into DCG and I didn't know this strategy was still relevant 4 month ago at the point to take a first place! Guess my first booster box will be an EX5 one! Awesome achievement and awesome video Edit: I just remembered EX5 came out worldwide roughly 6mo ago hahaha, but I didn't expect this strategy was that good, so it's still great to know!

I LOVE fenri and can't wait to play takemikazuchi but yeah it's pretty bad into the meta these days; aces really fuck the deck over bad and imperial is basically unwinnable because of dragon mode evo into fighter so you literally can't use trainings to digivolve, and you can't use helloogar to blow up the stack cause they just partition and do it again next turn. Matchup is unwinnable unless they brick to hell and back.

im in the same boat as that guy, maste needs to have cheaper playing costs, 5 cost for a tamer that only starts to benefit you during your next 'start of main phase' isnt good enough for todays meta and the lack of partition really hurts the deck as well. granted maste ace and ex6 lady devi have somewhat helped them to be less fragile but still doesnt hold a candle to the support imperial is getting when maste is a fan favourite also. alas i am but a butt hurt maste player that wishes she was as good or consistent as current decks. our day will come one day i hope!
