@@rossaryrose9337 In oil rig scene he's more like assisting the rescuers, but fair enough. The problem is that scene contradicts what we see later, when he's fighting in his hometown and cares very little about his neighbors, which probably he knew.

I feel like it looked pretty good aside from a few poorly made frames here and there

@@oscilao5872 it’s far from the best adaptation of Superman because it’s not Superman lol I mean if you don’t think about what you’re watching is it a fun film it could be but if you’re going into the movie watching it as a Superman fan who knows what superman is all about you’ll be disappointed. Superman is not Homelander from the boys. Superman would be deeply saddened by all the destruction he caused, and all the countless people that died in metropolis. I enjoyed your essay review. @@thecourt9778 I have only seen before, Luis and Clark series , cant compare much. I liked Man of Steel, it asks adult questions, what if politics are involved , so you have this super powerful being that is "on our side" but for how long, what if he becomes like Homelander. Some say Superman's biggest power is his character, but what if by trying to save somebody some one else gets killed. Who decides who is to be saved, and who is not, Supermen does? So basically he does what he wants? Sometimes you cant save everyone,not everyone can/should be saved. What if people with agendas are trying to push narratives , words are being twisted , opinions are manipulated, people are getting involved, and in the end it becomes shitshow like in real life.

@@rossaryrose9337 yes its a deconstruction of superman it does ask a lot of good questions as I stated in my first comment I did enjoy man of steel for what it is the thing is, hardcore Superman fans which I’m not we’re hoping for a Superman movie that wasn’t a deconstruction of that character. a more hopeful vision, less doom and gloom perhaps. again I’m not a die hard fan of Superman I guess that’s why I enjoyed the movie and the questions it asked but I understand the character of Superman he wouldn’t snap zods neck or say “ krypton had its chance” while lasering a spaceship that crashes down to kill more people nor would his father tell him maybe let people die in regards to saving a school bus full of kids to keep his powers a secret. I can name so many times where iconic characters were shaken up for the sake of creativity/changing the status quo. Joker in that one Batman show being an acrobat, in the same show Barbra is older than Robin and joins when she is a child, in The Batman, Riddler is a mentally deranged lunatic with almost 0 ounce of the iconic riddler. Alfred is dead in current comics, that’s pretty interesting. Jim Gordon is still the old by the books man who cares about real change in Gotham, the only change is that he’s black. If you can’t see that these characters are still serving the same purpose, regardless of race or gender, that’s an issue

@@navi0760 so the problem with the different interpretations of the characters is yes you can use them but it is a big gamble either way it might work in which case great, or it might produce ire of said character in which case it doesn't work, and when you make it more about race and gender you are forcing a completely different message into your interpretations.

@@Sunnysunshower I think that the biggest problem is that Zack focused so much on the alien side. we don’t see a lot of it in other media because it isn’t important. krypton only exists to justify some of the supernatural elements of his stories, his humanity is what makes the story actually interesting. I hated Superman for a long time mainly because of this movie failing to understand that nobody actually cares about krypton, we see enough of it in the Donner films to help viewers understand that it existed and that is all anyone needs. also i think krypton looked ugly in Man of Steel so I didn’t even get that enjoyment out of it

@@Auron1Roxas2 hey man, i’m not saying it’s a bad story to tell with these characters. i am saying that it is very much not a “movie 2.” also, no, batman does not kill. batman did kill for a couple years before writers realized that it was weird for him to do that given his back story so they changed it. it’s not “going to happen if he doesn’t change.” it’s valid to feel the way you do, i think it’s a fine movie as i feel i clearly pointed out here, but i think it just misses the mark with characterization in several ways that truly matter, especially for the second movie in the entire franchise. i’ll make a quick TL;DW of my entire video; “Zack Snyder didn’t really care for the actual comic book series these characters are from, he preferred the one that acted more of a breakdown of their core characteristics. Zack likes character studies, but because he doesn’t care enough to actually understand the nuances and truth of the characters, he is not only INCAPABLE of breaking them down in a way that works fundamentally. He rushed several events that DIDN’T NEED to happen just so that he can do the stuff he thought LOOKED COOL.(you can do a Batman v Superman story as their introduction without killing batman, or making batman a shell of himself, or making them actively try to kill each other, he did the death of superman because it looked cool to him (which it does, which is fine)).”

@@Auron1Roxas2 what character development. he doesn’t do anything for like an hour and a half and then kills someone. they could have had so many super easy hits when it comes to character arcs, have a scene where maybe clark says that like “journalism is a useless job” and Jonathan can be like “it let’s you protect people with knowledge.” or some shit, that way we can have john be not wanting clark to do heroism and risk his identity but still show respect for people who do want to protect people. It would also make the ending scene being one where Clark decides to become a journalist randomly just because his girlfriend works there, make sense. it’s like 2 or 3 lines of dialogue that would add ANY character development to this movie, but it just doesn’t have any of that. the movie goes out of it’s way to not show us characters developing in a realistic, maturely written manner

Man of Steel is FAR from a masterpiece. I'm not even a Superman fan and I can tell when story and characters are sacrificed for spectacle. @@ii-mp1sp 1) honestly, i’m trying to talk about the movie we did get i’m not worried about what they wanted it to be about at first 2) that’s really cool. i think lex luthor was done very well throughout this movie he was one of my favorite characters, my only problem was that jesse eisenberg is bad casting based on a surface level bad understanding of the character 3)i watched the ultimate edition, i said that lois investigates the superman thing but it didn’t really matter by the end of the film due to the forcing of death of superman into the story 4) in the comics batman used a gun one time against darkseid specifically when the entire universe was at stake because of him it was the LAST RESORT. Batman does not use guns to kill people, just because you wouldn’t have any morals in a situation does not mean batman also doesn’t. also, bold of you to assume that i didn’t mind other batmans killing people. it’s the thing everybody says is bad about thise movies

No dumbass he didn't. Nothing about it was "dark or broody" you clowns need to come up with something new cause you've been proven wrong already. They didn't want a dark knight trilogy they wanted a superman movie so they made a superman movie. It was never intended to be 3 films, Zack had a whole universe planned out for the next 10 years and even had a way to end it planned out as well. We got the greatest superhero movies ever made thanks to Zack, regardless of the idiots who cried about it.

The DCEU was the most poorly planned, rushed and badly written cinematic universe ever made, bar non. Not to mention all of Zack Snyders DCEU films were not garbage. Man of Steal was an edgy mess with wooden characters with 0 chemistry, Batman v Superman was just unwatchable and his Justice league movie was only good becuase is corrected the mistakes of the Josstice League movie, which mind you wasn't very hard to do. All of the good DCEU movies were all from different directors. e.i: Wonder Woman (2017) Aqua man (The first one), The Suicide Squad (Jame Gunn) and Shazam.

I think this movie does a bad job of setting up the conflict in a way where like. Superman could have stopped Batman whenever he wanted but he just… forgot i guess because these movies don’t let him DO things proactively.

i think batman does have the capability to pretty fairly beat superman, but also i think this movie didn’t let superman win if that makes sense

yeah! i think it's possible to tell an interesting story where clark grows up more brutal and willing to kill, but this movie not only doesn't seem to be trying that, it also can't try that. this was supposed to be THE superman, you can't have a deconstructive superman without the baseline and Zack wanted both at once

Superman Returns,III and A Quest for Peace exist. Also the film is still the highest grossing Superman film and the second highest grossing Superman film adjusted to inflation when BvS removed. You can hate the Snyder films as much as you want but facts contradict whatever you said.
