@paoloberti, solo 40 anni fa ho capito che le parole " oh Dio che meraviglia............." erano esatte. Prima scambiavo meraviglia con " maravezzza " ritenendo l'espressione come una licenza poetica................. Colpa mia e, forse una non perfetta pronuncia del soprano......

Bruson‘s legato, sonority, musicianship, & impeccable style made him unique among Italian Baritones of his time. Although eschewing barn storming high notes, that were not really what one remembers him for, he distinguishes himself memorably & hearing his bel canto is always a pleasure.

Well, what do you know. The tenor, I've aways claimed was really a baritone, sings a baritone aria better than 'Recondita'. Surprise?

I was at this performance of the Opera Orchestra of NY at Carnegie Hall February 21, 2007. He was electrifying! The ovation was such that he encored the aria. He has now just turned 50 and his voice is in decline. It can’t be just age. Many tenors have sung beautifully into their 50s. What happened?

Das, hier tatsächlich passende, weinerliche,Timbre als Lucia bzw. Violetta passt auch schon ziemlich gut zu den Möglichkeiten einer Joan Sutherland oder einer Edita Gruberova. Die Stimmfärbung von Carlo Bergonzi füllt die Lücke in der Aufnahme wirklich gut aus, ist aber durchaus gestaltbar, das traue ich den beiden Damen definitiv nicht zu!!!
