@@J-ThundaMusicReviews I named only bands I recommend the most. La Chinga are like seventies hard rock but with a modern heaviness. Blood Ceremony are like early seventies occult rock with flute but started out more like a heavy stoner rock band. Zebra are a melodic, slightly progressive, hard rock band. Kick Axe are an eighties heavy metal band. Spell was a new wave of traditional heavy metal band but have evolved their style into the mystical. And Coney Hatch was an eighties hard rock band.

1973 was the best year for post-Beatles music: Red Rose Speedway and Band on the Run by Paul; Living in the Material World by George; Mind Games by John; and Ringo by Ringo. When you take your deep dive into Wings, you can skip the first album (Wild Life), but all the others, from Red Rose Speedway to Back to the Egg, are great fun, with interesting changes from album to album.

A few more for consideration: Simon and Garfunkel: Only five albums, but a major part of '60s folk rock, and Paul Simon went on to have a major solo career. Sex Pistols: Another single album band, not a huge personal fan, but undeniably massive influence on punk. The Velvet Underground: Hugely influential if not very popular '60s band. Technically has 5 albums, but the 5th was all session musicians with one replacement band member, so not sure if that counts. Rage Against the Machine: Major '90s protest rock band, only put out four albums. I don't know if you count solo acts or are maybe planning a different list for them, but here's an idea for that: Jeff Buckley: Well regarded '90s musician who only managed a single studio album before he died, although a lot more was released posthumously. If you include Rap, NWA and Fugees each only had two studio albums, as did Biggie before his death, while 2Pac only released four albums before he died. Finally, a couple personal favorites that I might put on my own list, but aren't particularly notable: Mellow Candle: '60s Irish prog folk group that only released a single album that I recently discovered and fell in love with. I'm With Her: Incredible Bluegrass female supergroup with only one album released so far.

early chicago is awesome and that first album is honestly one of their best to. and of course i love the rest that was shown here are amazing. 2 odd ball ones i love that came out that year is High Tide - Sea Shanties . its a fairly obscure band that put out a very heavy album for the 60's which is kinda crazy and if i had to describe it. its like the doors meets black sabbath. the other one i love believe it or not is The BeeGees - Odessa. the early stuff they did is completely different then the disco stuff that everyone knows them for and that is an album that really surprised me. best way i can sum it up is like the beatles and the kinks where its nothing heavy but is very much baroque pop which i love

Pink Floyd is the band that got me to love music in general so they are a huge favorite for me and i love every album, of course some more then others but even the lesser favorites are still better then some bands best. The Nile song from More is so great that it felt like it came from decades later. The Wall is probably my 4th favorite album but i think out of those 26 songs, maybe 4 of them are skippable for me and thats pretty impressive for a double album. but i think most love it for its story and themes. but im happy to see some love for A Saucerful Of Secrets, atom heart mother and obscured by clouds and yes i love the song corporal clegg its so weird but catchy and gets stuck in my head. i think Wish You Were Here are is my number 1 favorite since it was the first album of theirs i ever own and i never get tired of any of the tracks i never skip anything on it

For me, The Wall is hands down their best. I can understand not liking some of the songs on there but when you have a double album with that many iconic songs, you’re bound to want to skip a handful of them when you put the album on. I love all the songs on there and I listen to the album straight through because if any album can be considered “an experience”, it’s The Wall. Seeing Roger Waters perform the album live is hands down the best concert experience I’ve ever had and I’ve been to over 100 concerts in my life. It’s just such an incredible production and it brings the whole story together visually. It makes those “skippable” songs so much more enjoyable. Ive actually always found Dark Side to be a bit overrated, at least in terms of the rest of their discography. I’ve also seen Roger perform this album in full live, and even though I loved it, it did not compare to The Wall. It’s undeniably an iconic album, though. If I had to rank my top 5 it would go: 5. Meddle 4. Dark Side 3. Wish you were here 2. Animals 1. The Wall

Such a strange list. As you said, they didn’t seem to take legacy into considering with all these new albums up so high, which I think is really strange. If they’re giving some artists two albums, I would’ve put Achtung Baby by U2 here as well. I’m a massive fan of theirs (in very fascinated with the Edges style), and I think Achtung Baby is their best. Would’ve put Magical Mystery Tour instead of Revolver. Would’ve put Ride the Lightning instead of Master of Puppets. Nevermind is probably the more influential album, but I prefer In Utero. I would’ve also added Let’s Dance by David Bowie, but I love Ziggy Stardust. Would’ve put Speaking in Tongues by Talking Heads instead of Remain in Light. I think Reggatta De Blanc by The Police should’ve been here. Also, I cannot believe that there was no ABBA. Either Arrival, Voulez-Vous or Super Trouper should’ve been here.

Not sure if I’ve listened to the posies or epica, what would you recommend listening to?

@@J-ThundaMusicReviews The Posies had a couple of relatively known songs in the 90's but never really made it big, mostly a loyal following like myself. I would recommend the Frosting on the Beater album or Failure. Epica is, in my opinion, the best symphonic metal band out there. I think their best album might be Omega, but my favorite one is Design Your Universe. Maybe I'll post a couple songs in the Discord.

Deep Purple should be higher! Smoke on water got me into them, but your right so many more great songs, love them. Sweet child in time is my favorite... RHCP your dad had greatest hits... I feel so old now, who is Chad smith? the drummer is Will Ferrell!!!

Loved this! Lots of bands I’ve heard of but haven’t listened to a ton of. Would love if you made a playlist for the description of this video of your top songs to introduce the bands!
