I think my grandmother's church had the quilt frame, for their community, in Goodway Alabama. I have a quilt my husband bought me, from a Pennsylvania market.
Only had white liquor once. I was maybe 15, and once was enough for me. Something in my make up, won't allow me to drink. Both parents had a problem with drinking, couldn't stop.. My body only has to smell alcohol, and I'll lose my lunch.
Absolutely love your singing Carl!
absolutely incredible woman…
She really is!
I need a Drink
Thanks so much for this - Lhakpa Sherpa so inspiring and incredible. Sherpa climbers far too often under represented with their stories.

I wonder if like stirring a big barrel of paint, I'd try using some type of board, or a boat oar. Just not something round. You can't stir as good with a round pole. Good luck buddy.
Thats BS the feds put his Dad in Prison. For making an honest living.
Holy cow! You see that row of stills! Tickle, and Jim Bob ain't got nutin on these fellows.
I know some good ole boy's from the Appalachia. Good folks. I wish I had a gallon jug of moonshine. Not that phoney Tickle stuff. Lol.
I was just a little boy when I got meet goat man I was born inn conyers GA. My mom would bring a plate dinner to him every evening. We would track him down by following the marks that the metal wheels left on the asphalt road.We would spend hours with him those are days I will not forget.

God lets us go as far as we want without Him. Bless you Courtney and your future endeavors!
Sending love for Lakpa
Amazing women ❤❤
And like he said, why change something that your family worked at and perfected for years to try to change it? Good job. 😅 ❤
i was in college when this bust happened. it was all over the news. i was a recent transplant from SoCal. It was was pretty wild - scholar.lib.vt.edu/VA-news/ROA-Times/issues/1993/rt9311/931117/11170165.htm
This presenter knows nothing about photography. There is no mirror in a 4x5 Graflex Graphic, and the mirror in a reflex camera, which this is not, has nothing to do with the shutter. Also the shutter is a separate mechanism from the aperture.
I learned some cooking from my S.Carolina mama but mostly learned from her older sister. I grew up in Florida but the Carolina influences I kind of absorbed even before I cared about food. I moved to E Tennessee & there are huge differences about the southern cuisine like you point out! I've always known about collard greens, here, it's always turnip greens. Even though they go both ways. My mom's family were all about either great northern beans or blackeye peas. Here it's pinto beans or sweet northern baked beans. The cornbread here is dry & spongy with a bitter under taste. I hate it! Also, I LOVE grits & my mom got my Yankee dad to love them too! Here, you're lucky if you find one brand (Quaker Quick Cooking) at the store. Here, it's all about oatmeal. And finally, I've worked at a Tnn. deli and with mostly chicken options, it's always served with brown gravy! Ugh! I'm homesick...
"Goosebumps" beautiful. My heart is singing. Thanks❤
Awesome video. Ap-uh-LACH-uhn
Great show !! What a beautiful part of the country
A lot of people can make it . Very few can make it good.
I left in 1985 from circumstances beyond my control. I returned in 2011 for a stint. The very first thing said to me when I got home was, can you show me how yall made shine? I am passing it on to my kids. My family will know how to survive
So, do you need water? I missed that part.
Please! The host needs to learn how to pronounce Appalachian & Appalachia.
Thanks for watching! Just to clarify, the show doesn't have a host - the person you're referring to is someone we interviewed, and we would never stop an interview to correct someone who pronounces the name of our region differently than we do.
Lol 🤡
Awesome!
This is awesome! I love that you have taken the beautiful historic Milwald theatre and featured the future of old time music there. What you’re seeing is the current artists that are preserving our musical heritage and teaching the youth of the area about their Heritage that as they get older will pass it on to their children. Good job Jim Lloyd!
That’s the Milwald Theatre.
Darn, Milwald. These computers sometimes get it wrong even if I try to get it right.
It’s supposed to have two L’s in it but the system won’t let me spell it right.
❤🔥
I was in the talent show with him! Hes amazing and i believe he'll be very famous one day!
Had to quit watching because you wouldn’t pronounce Appalachia correctly. If you were here we would throw an Apple-at-cha !!!
We would never stop an interview to correct someone who pronounces the name of our region differently than we do.
Likewise in the Texas hill country I learned to quilt on a frame which dropped down from the ceiling. We quilted and ate homemade oatmeal raisin cookies with a good fire going in the wood stove. We made beautiful quilts. I learned from a lady who was in my church. She taught a lot of us as young women. A wonderful memory.
Thanks for watching! And thanks for sharing, that sounds like a wonderful memory.
White whiskey put more Appalachian children through school than the government ever did.
Super impressive story about Doreen Hamilton Fishwick. What a keen business woman of her time!
🤡
I really liked your video. I can tell you put your heart and soul in every batch of Moon Shine you guys make.
thank you for this I hadn't heard of the Vatinian Creeper trail it look lovely
Glad you enjoyed it!
And A Hard Rain Fell is an absolute classic. Thank you John.
That’s so great. I wish there was a way to ride the trail and a wheelchair. Maybe I will suggest this trip to my daughter grandson and great granddaughter they love hiking. I think they would like a bike ride or a hike along this trail we live in front Royal Virginia, a ride
Thanks for the kind words. This trail is fairly accessible. I wonder if anyone in the adaptive sports community might have an idea for helping someone in a wheelchair get the full experience?
