If the clutch was broken, wouldn’t the car literally not even move? I guess they meant the clutch wasn’t working properly. Sometimes gets stuck in gear or won’t allow you to shift into all the gears. Happens in Nascar a lot. On an oval, it’s only an issue on pit stops and restarts. Once you get up to speed, you don’t shift anymore anyway.
