Top 10 Eurovision Songs from a Mexican's Point of View
I'm a day late, whoops!
Whoohoo, it's Eurovision time!
Even though Eurovision is not very popular in Mexico, some Eurovision songs have actually made it big here. So I thought it would be fun to mention my own personal, favorite songs.
But don't worry, we'll go back to our usual style of video after this. And yes, we're definitely working on the Trickster Fox video, as well as some other cool stuff.

The Peruvian Pelacaras
zhlédnutí 565Před 2 měsíci
There's not a lot of information about the Pelacaras cryptid from Peru, some say it's some type of extraterrestrial life form, others say it's a cover up for something much more nefarious and corrupt. The one thing that is known is what these creatures do to their victims. I'll give you a hint. Pelacaras means Facepeelers. Sources (Some are in Spanish): Linchados en Perú al ser confundidos con ...

It's the season of festivities and holidays, so here's a video on Aztec/Mexica festivals! A couple of videos ago, we talked about the two and half Aztec calendars, the Tonalpohualli, the Xiuhpohualli, and the Venutian Count. I mentioned that the Xiuhpohualli consisted of the Cempohuallapohualli (18 months of 360 days) and the Nemontemi (5 days). That is what we will be looking at in this video,...

After a long break, we bring you a short explanation about the Aztec/Mexica Calendar. There are actually two and a half calendars: the Tonalpohualli, the Xiuhpohualli, and the Venus Count. Only briefly do we go over the Xiuhnelpilli and the New Fire Ceremony. We don't know why we decided to start the year off with a creepy video, but that's just how it worked out. If you grew up in the USA, you may have heard creepy stories like 'The Licking Hand (People Can Lick Too)' or the stealing of organs and waking up in bathtubs. But I live in a different environment. So I bring you four urban legends from Mexico. You'll notice right away that all these stor...

The month of fright is here. So for this Halloween we bring you a short animation on one of the oldest rituals in the world. Exorcisms. Ancient Rome had its own unique way of getting rid of malignant spirits. And since we're talking about ghosts, I think it's only fair we also get into burial rites. After all, as you will find out, the two things go hand in hand. Sources: Lemuria, the Ancient R...

The 13 Heavens in Aztec Mythology

This time around we'll be going over the Thirteen Heavens in Aztec mythology. If you thought the Underworld had too many levels, wait until you hear about the multiple heavens stacked on top of each other. The thing is though, most people don't end up in these heavens. Instead, they are the home of the powerful deities that control our world. Music: Firesong Kevin MacLeod The Sky of Our Ancesto...

Learn about the Aztecs' beliefs on life after death. The recently deceased needed to traverse Mictlan, which was essentially Aztec hell, if they wanted to find eternal peace. The journey, with its dangerous trials and frightening monsters, could very well rival Dante's Inferno. If they succeeded, they would be greeted by Mictlantecuhtli, the Lord of the Dead, and finally freed from their tormen...
Keep up the good work! Hope the new generation of indigenous youth teach the world our culture as it should be taught
Not yo recordando cuánto amaba Love Injected de Aminata (growing up is getting old, como diría Victoria jsjsjs). Me encanta tu top ❤😊 Pd: Otro eurofan latinoo...saludos desde Chilee 🇨🇱❤🇲🇽

You didn't listen "Mon amour" Slimane......France 2024 ?
I actually do like the song. Because the video subject was planned three weeks ago, songs from 2024 weren't included. Perhaps in the future I'll update the list. :)

Very good taste, yes. Especially when you choose Love Injected, Saudade and Fai Rumore. These three performers and their songs are absolutely fantastic and memorable. Musical tastes are obviously different but Eurovision has room for them all. Greetings from Porto, Portugal.
It's important to distinguish the metaphorical with the literal when discussing Nahua religion, theology, and philosophy. One caveat I might add at the end is that "oneness with the cosmos" (not sure of the source for that statement) should be taken as a metaphor on account of two facts: (1) The individuated soul is acknowledged distinct from the members of the pantheon, and (2) The distinct individuated soul is told they are to enter their "mortal sleep," which may be a metaphor for entering conscious experience in the celestial realm where Mictlan is located. Experiential reality on earth (tlalticpac) was regarded as a dream experience whereas the ritualistic partaking of psilocybin mushroom wine (teonanacatl) was considered a gateway into the true reality of the celestial realm. This is why the Nahua used poetry (xochicuicatl) as one of their means of doing philosophy, for they were trying to balance the struggle of explaining reality regarded largely as metaphysical to our reality, yet with tools of linguistic construction born out of the dream that is empirical reality.
I also love Fai Rumore,my favourite and was so disappointed we did not get to see him perform this at Eurovision,I like to think he would and deserved to have won that year ,this song is sentimental , special and means alot of people 🇮🇹💚😘👍
Nocturn is so beautiful. Masterpiece. My faves are Max (Germany 2004) with Just can't wait untill tonight. Also Hari Mata Hari with Lejla (2006) Lordi 😎 The Roop (On fire) Blanche (City Lights) Joci Papai (Origo) Rollo & King (Never ever let you go) The Makemakers (I'm yours) And from our (Estonian entries) Kaelakee hääl is so lovely, but you need to listen to it from the start. The extract they use in compilations is not from the best part.
Thank you for this great video with great visuals and narration! Looking forward to part 2
Great list. Aija by Sudden Lights was my second most streamed song on Spotify last year. My number one was Gabrielius Vagelis - Šauksmas, who attempted to go to Eurovision for Lithuania but did not make it. Your number one is fantastic. Fai Rumore is a masterpiece. So emotional and intense. Thanks for sharing, and greetings from Brazil.
I am white but not American or European. I love Hurricane by #edengolan.Too bad that the jury at #Eurovision chose to override the public votes.
Love Injected 🇱🇻 2015 is one of my favourite eurovision songs, that awesome voice has shook the whole arena 😍 I also love Saudade 🇵🇹 2022 EAEA 🇪🇸 2023 Mata Hari 🇦🇿 2021 Shum 🇺🇦 2021 Fly with me 🇦🇲 2017 My sister crown 🇨🇿 2023 And from this year ZARI 🇬🇷 ❤ Doomsday Blue 🇮🇪 Grito 🇵🇹
Btw, two of the songs of the video were copyrighted, sorry for the mess. Please feel free to look up Adio by Knez and Saudade by Maro. Also, we will go back to our usual topics for videos after this one.

at 3:02 you said "the only time 1-crocodile ever repeated was once every 52 years", but wouldn't it repeat at the start of every year (260 days)? Im confused
Omg, you're right! I'm not sure why I said that! I must have gotten confused with the xiuhnelpilli. I'm so sorry for the confusion!

that's weird, the first one you describe is the Sacred Round calendar which I know, the second is supposed to be the Venus Calendar which of course track planet Venus which you haven't mentioned, not sure why
We actually do talk about the Venus Cycle at 7:37
PELACARAS ARE A PERUVIAN AMAZON LEGEND 🇵🇪🔥
Aztec is other side of the world and should have no contact with Indian Civilization in ancient times but the story of creation is same as Shiv Shakti. Please see part of oneness from Light With In information pack. czcams.com/video/3ipBO24SDlE/video.html
the symbol you used for Nemontemi is for the leap year, there's another symbol for the standard one. you can count the days on the whisps of copal smoke.
I cant find any reliable source for the claim that the 9 rivers represent an alleged Aztec view of 9 states of consciousness. I would also be interested in credible sources which substantiate the claim that the dead entered into a Buddhist kind of meditation experience and life-review toward the end of their journey. According to Alfredo Lopez Austin, it seems the tonalli is finally freed from the dead, at which point, said "semilla-corazon", cleaned of all traces of the past life, goes to Tlalocan, the gran bodega to await rebirth in a new being. In other words, Mictlan is not the end of the journey, at least not for the tonalli.
I misspoke, it's not the tonalli, but the teyolía (semilla-corazon) that becomes free of all traces of the finished life, according to Austin.

I was watching Tree63 (9) a million lights.
Twenty minutes in, and I notice there are no European or Asian fox legends…
Yes that is correct! Europe and Asia are coming is part two.
The Gregorian calendar is a fixed copy using all the Aztec sun Stone/ Maya calendar measurements. You see , every other religion/ civilization had a lunar calendar. Which was not precise, until the roman Catholic invading aztecs. Finding aztec sun stone, found out to have a precise calendar. You need to divide days or the year with hrs of the day. No old calendar involved clock just days. So a 13 month calendar or any other calendar than 12 months can work. So technically a circle is 360° degrees. A year is 360 days. But it takes 5.25 days for spring to arrive. Not new years. 365 doesn't fit in a even pie. Aztec sun stone had maya calendar in it. Also sacred calendar. 13x20x20=5200 Or the 52 year round calendar. Which is now the 52 weeks a year we have. So you divide, 365÷24=15 you cant have a 24 month calendar 15 days because moon cycles every 28 days. Now you divide 24 in half. 12. 365÷12=30. Tou get your 12 months 30 days. Making 360 but still have 5 days left over. You add them to other months including the 2 days of feb. Making seven months with 31 days. I believe we have to start new year in spring like the aztec/ mayans. Now 360 from jan is xmas , when roman would celebrate saturn mid dec. No other religion had a sacred calendar but sacrificed and had pegan worship. Now 365÷52=7 7 days a week, 52 weeks a yr, 365 days a yr. A copy. Aztec calendar was already divided like a clock. 4 season a yr. All seasons in one yr and not winter two time a yr. Each season 3 months or 3 hr on the clock. Now Egyptians had 3 seasons. 4 months each. 12 months a yr. 30 days each month. Making 360 days plus 5 sun worship days for sun to arrive in spring. Same deal. The. Roman copied them and so forth. But the aztec sun stone was and is the true precise calendar. The Gregorian is fixed and off. I learned this myself. I found out to make a prexise calendar toi have to divide hr of day qoth days of yr. Its like i rediscovered how the Gregorian was made. Using all the aztec sun stone measurements. Remember it was 12 ft tall. 24 k lbs 3.6 meters across. Saceed geometry and all. How we spin the sun in a yr qoth the true 20 zodiacs. Not the 12 made up zodiacs

I thoroughly enjoyed this video. Thank you !
thank you so much for making this not only educating and entertaining, but also for pronouncing the names! it makes it so much easier to digest information when im not constantly pausing to sound out the nahuatl in my head lmao. as for the human sacrifice, cultural differences aside, my only question is how these communities maintain a healthy population size with all of these deaths going on...
Me encanto❤❤❤ Seguire mirando todos sus videos!!
I can't hear you
God I hate the Aztecs so much
Why is that?
but if I have a dog, why would I need to go any further?
saving my social studies mark!! thank you so much for putting so much effort into these videos
You should make a video about all the signs of the Callender and their names pronounced in aztec so I can show my friends
can you do one on mythical creatures of Mexico?
That's a great idea, thank you!
