The Moody's Palooza - what a rambunctious celebration!
zhlédnutí 991Před rokem
Moody's Collision Centers, a co-worker owned company in Maine, hosts a rambunctious celebration of 45 years in business. Call it "short track racing meets demolition derby," as drivers do way more than rub paint, haha. Ayup, fenders and tires get pretty much shredded. Moody's founder Shawn Moody also explains why the Employee Stock Ownership Plan is a key part of how Moody's success benefits so...
Amazing drone views at the solstice dawn in Maine

A beach town is barely awake as the summer solstice dawn creates magical scenes in Maine's Old Orchard Beach and Camp Ellis. Captured via drone by videographer Roger McCord...who gladly (sort of) got up at 3:30 a.m., haha.

Acoustic vs Amplified music, We Demand Parachutes at MiddleEast and Midway Cafe, Boston
zhlédnutí 79Před 2 lety
Boston-based band We Demand Parachutes had to go acoustic at the Midway Cafe when drummer Ben Shumaker was stranded in Florida. The gig went well, with Jon Koh sitting in on guitar. So here's a brief comparison of the amplified sound vs. the acoustic sound, using clips of four WDP songs from the Midway Cafe, the Middle East club, and Portland House of Music in Maine. Interesting differences. NO...

Great kid,great video
Thx, D! He's a great message for the character of Maine, and its Mainers.
I had the privilege of working with John Hutchins and living on M.D.I. with my family for many good years.
Are these fish alive?
We have some right now under our porch ....I'm thinking a week old ....I walked down there to get a look with my zoom....BUT I saw mom on the cable wire waiting with a green worm so I retreated ....I'm in awe too!
Ha! Same green bugs that I saw. I believe they might be the early stage of Japanese beetles. I see that video was shot 10 years ago, wow! I have done more since. Here is a link to The Feeding Frenzy, which I did last year. Same nest location! themainemonitor.org/chasing-maine-the-feeding-frenzy/ I have also just produced a children's book, "Flight of the Phoebes," based on the whole "birds leaving the nest" theme. Here is the website to it: flightofthephoebes.com Enjoy your birds! Roger McCord

damn this shit slaps
Great story 👏
A fantastic way to "enjoy" the lobster fisherman culture, what better way than with "souped-up boat races" - the best, as the hobby ties in perfectly with the fishing of the lobsters, you have to "get there quickly", you have to "change the lobster pots", you have to "change fishing grounds quickly", and most importantly, you have to "get the lobsters back to shore quickly" to have them as fresh as possible. What does the winner of the lobsters boat race receive as a prize? The winner gets the keys to the CITY..... BABY.
I’ve gotta know what his cruise rpm is with those banners behind him.
Go Kevin!!!!!!!
You can hear the English influence in their accents, but not surprising as they are likely of English descent. Despite census claims saying otherwise, the most numerous ancestry group by far in the us is English Americans. How rare is it for any young people to speak like those in the video?
Waoooo. Donde esta ese lugar
Beautiful video. We had Phoebes nesting under our lean to roof. They had a successful brood of four. We were hoping to see them return for their second brood but haven’t yet. 😊
Wehave one too and I've read that they could come back as soon as a week after the first fledglings fly out. As fellow nest families, we wish yours luck in getting a return!
What an absolutely fantastic video
This is awesome!!

Bet that engine won't run like that for an hour
And does it have a heater?
That was great! Very to the point. You captured the spirit and left when all the tourist arrived💕
I love this video of towing banners
Steve Allison , from Merrimac Massachusetts , by far has the coolest , 1927 Indian , I've ever seen ! Man I would love to see some day , like down at "Skip's" on Rt 110 ! Ace Asheville NC.
Steve Allison is such an engaging character. A a very nice guy, too. And that accent, haha.
That’s a pleasure boat with a race engine your not working out of that boat
Beautiful shots of the Downeaster! ❤️❤️❤️❤️
I saw it come thru the day before at 5:30 in the morning and made a mental note to be there, and be ready, the next day. Interesting note: I was able to get the audio because I set up my cellphone to record video+audio when it rumbled thru. Drones, you see, don't record sound because all you'd hear is the buzzing. And I just edited the train rumble into the final video. Anyway, I am a big fan of trains myself, glad you liked the vid.
❤️❤️🎏 Yes tight
tip top backing music.
I was there to i was 12 they almost let me join cuz they had an extra car but i didn't have a helmet( wait just looked under the title i went in 2021)
Old day's are important now. Roger.
That seems to be more and more true with every passing day.
There is no way to make maple syrup making easier. You add tubing and pumps, you get leaks. Frozen lines. More equipment, more issues! Even if you can sell a gallon of syrup for $80, it probably costs four times that to make it (if you pay yourself anything at least)!
The use of vacuum lines has made things a bit more less labor intensive. But still...just a lot of time and work, for sure. For some folks, that's still favorable to watching TV or sitting at a computer keyboard for 8 hours.
Great film..
There's just something about owning a vehicle that is one of one.
How does this video not have a kazillion likes?! I loved it! You brought back amazing memories. The house/building next to Swallow Tail Lighthouse used to be a bed and breakfast. I spent a weekend there with friends. Was lulled to sleep by the sound of the fog horn and awoke to the beauty of the lighthouse directly out my window. And when we walked over the suspension bridge, there were bats flying around our heads. Ha
I guess most folks don't have your good taste. But yeah, Grand Manan was a great trip, and the video came out pretty well ... I mean, that sudden sun comes out for the boat with the drone waiting? Thx for liking it!
Back in the 40's Tom Foster was the lighthouse keeper & part of my island playground!!!!
Great video.
Neat using the horses to pull the jeep out. I knew they would do it.
Pulled it out like it was nothing, right? Big and strong, for sure.
Roger McCord nice plowing and tractors. Here in PEI at the Dundas Plow match they show horses doing pulls. And some times they have oxen.
@@noelstractors-firewood57 Oxen are the bomb. They have oxen pulls at our Cumberland County Fair in my town. I'd love to see how many men it takes to pull that sled. What's your guess?
Roger McCord , hehe, 50. Just a guess. Or more.
@@noelstractors-firewood57 Now THAT is an event I'd like to see BTW, Noel: I'm trying to put together a book about my photography work over the last 4 decades (yup, it's been that long). For the video work, I'm creating 9-panel filmstrips of stills from my videos, and Plow Day is one of my best. I may ask if you could re-create, or whatever, your comment about that piece. Do you have an email I can reach you at? I am at rogermccord@gmail.com. PS: I love living in maine, but so envious of you being in PEI. MY wife love trips to Canada, but have not been up to PEI yet (damnable Covid thing stopped us last year). Thx.

Thanks for this flic. You have great cinematics, and of course the story lives from Chris. Only thing, I'd wish is, to have the questions asked by voice, even if you do it in post-production. I think, I would more feeling.
I hear ya, agree with ya. But I have a lousy voice, and I'd need a 2nd mic to make it loud enough.
Absolutely heart warming. Thank you for sharing Hank's visit!
GREAT video and MESSAGE! Love those good ol' girls!
