Still like yours? Keep reading about poor build quality.
Yep I still use it every trip pretty much, I even bought the pump camp
What an awesome spot, do you think I could get my bronco up there towing a modified off-road teardrop trailer? doesn’t look very technical would love to go there and camp with my dog for a few nights that would be awesome thanks for the cool video👍👍👍
@@jonluchessi1643 there’s only one section that could give you trouble I think it’s around the 03:00 mark. Depending on the line you take it could get very off camber. There’s a bypass but I’m not sure how you would navigate it with a trailer tbh. I’m sure if you choose the right line it shouldn’t be an issue.
I Have a 2013 Ram 1500 and would like to mount this inside the bed under my softopper. Is this possible to mount with out the Toyota style track bed rail system you have? If so would you know how and what to buy to make it happen. I surf all year round and this thing looks perfect.
@@richscoza4362 I’m not completely sure, I’ve never seen the inside of a ram 1500. I don’t even have it mounted anymore tbh I just throw it in the bed lol. It’s easier to move it around when it’s unmounted.
@@RoamWithJon 😂 that’s what I was thinking of doing! TY for the reply and love that Tacoma
@@richscoza4362 ty ty, I had it mounted for some time outside on a bedrack, but it honestly is best just sitting on the bed lol. If I need it to be still I’d just ratchet strap it to something.

@@billyxiong3665 it’s super nice, we just picked the most windy weekend to go 😂

Hey sir have question do they have signal out there? Celphone? Thanks so much
It’s very spotty but there is some reception.
Been going here for the past 10 years. It’s definitely changed for the worst because of these type of videos. We are slowly going to lose public land because of CZcamsrs and geotaggers.
I understand where you’re coming from, that’s why I don’t specifically “name” or “geotag” lesser known locations where I go. But bowman being bowman, everyone knows about it. In my opinion us losing access to public land and or trails closing down isn’t going to be because of a CZcams video or people geotagging a location, it’s because people aren’t being taught to respect the land. People don’t know how to leave a place better than when they found it. That why we’re in many cases cleaning up after the people who were there before us.
What size topper tent did you get?
The mid sized one I believe
Jon, How do you get air circulation in the platform topper when it’s all closed up and you are sleeping in there?
I use a topper tent now, and when you crack a corner open on the door there’s sufficient airflow, just made a video about it a few weeks ago
Thank you for your reply! So you sleep on top of the topper now? When you slept inside the topper(in the past) was air flow a big problem(maybe why you sleep up top in the tent because of that very reason?) or was there a way to get so air flow so you could be comfortable? Reason I’m asking is on long trips out west from the mid west I will overnight in a Walmart our a Cracker Barrel and won’t feel comfortable in a tent above the topper. Once out west I think the roof tent(superlite) is a good option but not so much in cities or along highways? Can you advise me on that concern?
No no I still sleep inside the topper lol I use a topper tent it’s an extension that lets you sleep in the topper with the tailgate down. I didn’t really have any issues sleeping inside of the topper with out the topper then until I sealed the bed up.
how long are these bump stops?
@@user-yp8ed4er7f I’m not sure off the top of my head I’d say probably ~ 6 inches

@@pingpongballz5998 it’s a really really light flannel, I started to wear long sleeves and light flannels in the summer time, especially if I know I’m gonna be out for a while, to avoid getting sunburned lol
can you turn on the front camera while driving/parking? (D position)? or only on P position. thx
@@Pazburdem Yes you can, and unlike the oem Camera, there isn’t a giant black spot in the middle if you’re moving.
me and my buddies went there a couple years ago, my Tundra and two Tacos, and I thought that the lake was decently full. but this time it looks like its hella full! we did the river crossing last time but it looks like that part is submerged. I gotta go up there again, this time with my 4runner.
Oh it’s definitely worth it to go right now, that area with the water crossing is fully submerged probably under 6+ feet of water lol the area is super nice now!
Where is the side button
@@Thunderfoot143 the one to eject the key? It’s there.
super helpful. exactly what I was looking for.
No worries 🤙🏽 , you can add a shim or some kind of spacer under the knobs aswell to make it easier to remove and install.
🔥🔥🔥 amazing vid as always brotha! 🤙🏼
Thanks Braddah when are you coming out lol
❤️
Was this recent? Trail looks pretty clear. We went last year in August total of 5 sprinter vans and the step up was crazy.
Mmm I shot this a week before I posted it. Very recent. Yeah if you’re coming up in a sprinter van I wouldn’t suggest coming in through the normal entrance lol. There’s other ways to get to bowman lake.
Nice video! How long is the trail like miles?
Thank you! Very very short, if I had to guess probably about 3 miles.
@@RoamWithJon 3 miles and u see the lake? Yeah we planning to go there with couple of friends . This will be our firs time
We are kindna rookie about trails it it going down hill? Thanks for sharing the info!
@@krissryanmndz506 should be just about. It’s actually fairly short. Only took us about 20-30 minutes if I remember correctly.
@@krissryanmndz506 it’s actually pretty steep uphill in some portions. One really off camber section, a coupe water crossings, but aside from that the trail was pretty easy
Your Tacoma looks great, what brand of awnings did you go with
Thank you, I was using a roam adventure co awning for a while but moved to an ovs 180 degree awning 🤙🏽
Ya'll seems like a fun crew! I was at Saw Mill from the 17th -23rd.
Aha thanks! Love the area, sawmill was going to be a backup if there was no room at bowman.
I just installed mine and once full, it doesn't feel like it supports it well enough. I would like to ask how does it hold up to some rough roads and or bumps?
It’s a little wobbly with the stock set up. I eventually ended up making my own mounts. You can use a couple 100lb zip ties to keep it from rocking but then you’d lose the ability to take it off. No issues though off-road it just rocked back and fourth lol
"This is where we switch" 😂. I bet you switched at that hair pin turn eh? I was just there today. Just got home. Great place. My wife wanted nothing to do with the driving lol. I'm definitely going back. Dope spot for sure! Take care! 👊🏽
Yeah it was the sharp turn with the step up lol I think she would’ve been fine if the jeep guy would’ve give us way. Usually the people going up have the right away but the guy kept going 🤦🏻♂️ Love bowman, we try to go up twice a year if we have time. Cheers 🍻
Dope
🙌🏽🙌🏽
Sucks how busy and blown up it is now ,Facebook and CZcams ruined it,but I'm glad to see your family enjoying it! It's definitely a sacred place, and we need to try to keep it that way.
Love the vids and rig brotha! I was here last week during Fathers Day!
Thank you! That sounds like a good Father’s Day aha
Nice install, thanks.
No worries 🤙🏽
a little late to this video, i just picked up a 24 tacoma OR, you think stock suspension should be enough for this trail?
With some carefully driving you could. I honestly wouldn’t if you didn’t at least have some good tires and sliders
That’s so sick. The only con is how much money I will spend for this set up 😂
That is true LOL not gonna lie but it’s nice having everything premade and fitted
Do you know if this rack would be compatible if I have a sunroof? Do you think it would interfere with it?
@@nickorozco5933 it shouldn’t, it’s just like any other rack in the market and mounts the same Way.
The skids have to come off when you do a fluid change to the transfer case and transmission?
There’s a little door you can take off. You can then use something like a box or half of a cup to block the initial flow of oil so it doesn’t go everywhere. Then replace it with a fumoto valve if you’d like
Nice, bro. I’ll be heading up there in a month with some family. Great place to chill for sure.
Ahh man it’s gonna be super nice, we might go back up this weekend haha.
Let's do it again pare
Ya next time I stay the whole weekend lol
This video is how I found out they only sent me two relocation brackets, so now my front end is torn apart and I can’t finish until I get the other bracket. Do you have to have the part by the passenger side bolted down?
Tbh I’m not 100% sure, I’d ask the cali raised guys to see if they would be an issue in the mean time, I would think structurally the front ones are the most important.
Ok thanks for the reply. Now for some reason my bolts don’t line up exactly with the holes so I gotta figure that out. Did you have any issues getting on the 6 bolts? Me and my neighbor just wrestled with it for 30 minutes before calling it a night
@@laceface4130 negative had zero issues it was a basic bolt on process for me
My buddy put on his f150, he said he almost lost his shit putting it on. They look great though.
Lmao when theyre new it’s kinda rough but they break in and become easier to take down and put up
Would this be good hybrid xamper for work and camping
Oh 100% gear is easily accessible through the side doors and it’s very sturdy. I also sleep in the bed when I go camping.
I’ve had the same one for years & it works great. Only issue is the air gauge broke very early on which is a bummer. Don’t rely on it to be accurate, always have a traditional gauge in your rig.
Mines still going strong, I use it as a secondary compressor now mostly to air up my water tank or what ever needs to be air’d up lol
It’s a lot more like cushiony, it’s not just a straight dive it’s hard to tell in the video.
So, pretry much the same
This video probably wasn’t a good representation lol, it’s honestly more felt in the driver seat.
Great shots! Looks like a blast! Been meaning to get up to Medocino but a haul from Santa Cruz.
Oh that would be a drive and a half haha well worth the drive though!
how dare you blur out the best parts of this video!
LOL can’t be caught slippin!
