The Safari Rally is a rally race held in East Africa. It was first held from 27 May to 1 June 1953 as the East African Coronation Safari in Kenya, Uganda and Tanganyika,[1] as a celebration of the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. In 1960 it was renamed the East African Safari Rally and kept that name until 1974, when it became the Safari Rally. It was one of the most prestigious and celebrated...

WHEN the F.I.A. changed the regulations in the middle of last year governing sports prototype racing, it didn't give a fair chance to the two long-distance races early in the year at Daytona and Sebring to obtain a very good entry. With the demise of the giants the Porsche team were prepared for an outright win to start the season. A new 907 prototype arrived in December and did a series of tes...

The off throttle time with the 45-50mph speed drop is crazy. We could really use something closer to that in current day. Some actual tire wear would be nice too.
Robert yates was the best team
Alan will always be Wisconsin's racing champion to me. Eod.
Musso, Collins, Lewis Evans, Hawthorn, Casstelotti..all of them gone soon. But if you're gonna go down, go down in flames.
Just watched Brock Beard's documentary on Alan and it reminded me of this from espn. Terrible loss then & still today...

One of the few country songs I actually like
🤗🤗🤗🤗❤❤❤❤❤❤
Why did Tim hate Alan Jackson, is it cuz of his name is Alan, or the fact AL loves him? Or he just loves the car more?

People don’t realize that nascar drivers take full-size cars with no abs traction control around road courses regularly
Such a great show. Too bad Tim Allan is such a misogynistic a-hole. Jill would have so ripped him a new one...
Most satisfying win by a NASCAR driver since Earnhardt's Daytona 500 win.
This is when F1 had traction control among other assists. Never any traction control, ABS or anything like that in NASCAR. Traction control is a a drivers right foot.
Love those old school races.
Nice Video 😂😊
That's was awesome song by Alan Jackson jmm Jackie McAdams 0:37
Max Creek does a great version of this song
Its obvious Ernie Irvan caused that one. He kind of made a career of this sort of thing. I think Sterling was pissed and tried to fight him in the garage area the next week? Remember now, this is 1996, these drivers crashed head on into a concrete wall at 190mph with no SAFER Barrier to protect them. I wish we had had them in these days. I'm certainly glad we have them now. I'm also glad full face helmets and the HANS Device are mandatory now as well.
Carl Edwards:skill issue Scuhmacher post race interview:skill issue mb The announcers:NOOOOOO SCHUMACHER IS BETTER HE JUST MADE A MISTAKE
What an embarrassing display by the commentators
Seems unfair for the german driver since he has a more difficult track than the american did
These stupid commentators were the real starting point of the "hate" between Nascar and F1 fans. This is exactly were it begun. Unbelievable to be that high of stupidity and to be so much ignorant. For that kind of so-call race fans it was just impossible for their limited minds to accept that anybody outside of the F1 world can defeat an F1 champion. Just imagine their faces when their beloved Schumi has been atomized by a american driver, even worse : a Nascar driver, who only turn left. Their brains cannot endure that, so they immediatly put that defeat on a possible mistake of Schumi. I'm a French Nascar fan since nearly 30 years, I've never been so ashamed to be European than that day.
Lol and he improved his lead even after his opponent's "mistake"
Nascar drivers are for real. I respect all Motorsport but it’s about time folks realized nascar isn’t left turns and hillbillies anymore.
Bro they gotta get off copium. NASCAR drivers and fans never talk bad about, and really respect f1 drivers, while Europeans hardly share the same respect
Be fr nascar fans are just about as bad as them when it comes to this stupid rivalry
@@elliot20 maybe some, but honestly most of us at least that I know are Motorsports fans first. We do prefer nascar, but we don’t think our drivers are so much better than f1 drivers and honestly most nascar fans enjoy f1, imsa, and rally too
Crazy how such a scientific discovery was made by some slow mascar driver trying to keep up. What a W
90s country was the last of the decent country. lol.

Yeah today’s country sucks and its rare for country music to get compliments from me because there’s only one genre of music I dislike more than country, rap

Rest in peace Alan kulwicki and Davey Allison
This is stupid. Why couldn’t they just race on the track side by side rather than separate course.
They were the same
@@Tonymeows43 not at all actually. If you understand that f1 uses different racing lines than avg people or even other race mediums. Mainly due to the rotation of the vehicle around corners.
@@11secbugthat’s cool but so does NASCAR. This was equally challenging for both drivers and Carl beat him
@11secbug I have whatch f1 you should give nascar a try or atleast see how much the driver has to do and (yes we have road courses with right hand turns) but both take loads of talent and endurance take for example ryan blaney who suffered 55 gs in daytona
@@Tonymeows43 brother I grew up on nascar
Getting pulled from his ride at Indi after starting crushed Dale worse than the wreck at Dega itself. It pissed him off in a way that made him more determined to kick ass than ever before, his "Hurt so good" qualifying lap at the Glen is a good example of a determined Intimidator...Doc Jerry Punch later commented about hearing the bones crunch as the crew strapped Dale into the #3 car for what would be his record breaking qualifying lap at Watkins Glen. Richard Childress was begging Dale to let someone else qualify the car but Dale was determined to prove to himself and everyone watching that he belonged in the car. I wish I could find the actual video from qualifying that day, all I've found are copies used on nascar shows that are edited. The wreck at Dega just 3 weeks before would of been fatal had Dale been using a modern (modern at that time) seat, he made his own seats that were more like an old bench seat than the standard racing seats. He learned toward the door as he drove, his open face helmet nearly against the window net. Had he been in a standard racing seat he likely wouldn't of survived. When rescue workers started cutting and using the jaws to get him out I believed his racing career was over. It was surprising to see him walk away and giving a wave and the thumbs up as he went to the ambulance...he refused to take anything for the pain, not even aspirin or tylenol or ibuprofen, nothing. He was attacked by a dog as a child and even then refused anything for the pain, he had several lacerations to his head and face from the dog. He truly was "One Tough Customer"... The wreck at Talladega from multiple cameras... czcams.com/video/ZqZyBOfgsl0/video.htmlsi=qN63ApN0EcsIFd_0
Carl Edwards is one of the top NASCAR drivers of ALL TIME. These Euro F1 snobs had NO CLUE what was about to go down. 😂
Tony’s media center press conferences were funny sometimes
the most butt hurt announcers of all time lmaooo
Was everyone high? They are not competing in the same course, besides Michael has the inside which has tighter bends which carry less top speed. Who designed this?
Take defeat idiot
They’re competing on the same course that loops around twice, just with different start+finish lines, at 2:22 you can see Carl take the inside section with a lot of twists and turns.

One of the best feel good shows ever…….. miss Tim and the crew…..
Great video and a beautiful song Alan Jackson love it you're the Best sending prayers and love ♥️🥰💕
Tim was a good guy but his know it all masculinity definitely irks my last good nerve. Years on the air and his character never really evolved into a man who wasn’t a screw up at everyone else’s expense.
How beautiful
Someone who was several times close to win a NASCAR cup championship beat a 7x formula one world championship. Stats don't tell the whole story.
In F1 the car very much makes a massive difference. Look at when he switched to Mercedes he only got one podium in that stint. The new Red Bull cars are slaughtering the other drivers they're just so much faster than everyone else. Even Lewis Hamilton another 7 time world champion can't compete with the Red Bull cars. Also Senna dying very much worked in Schumacher's favour. I highly doubt he would have got 7 championships with Senna still on the scene.
@@Fireglo yeah i know. What i meant is that Edwards is a driver beyond his stats. Deserved better.
@@ReprogrammedToHate I wouldn't really look too much into this silly race. If it was an F1 race Schumacher would have won. If it was a Nascar race Edwards would have won. An F1 car controls very differently to a conventional car so Edwards had the advantage here as he's used to racing proper cars not open wheel racers only designed for racing.
@@Fireglo my point regarding Edwards still stands
F1 inserts whomever driver they want representing their series into the best car. Kimi was a top-tier drive, one of the best all-time, but F1 didn't want him as the face of their franchise, so they inserted Lewis Hamilton into the top car. #F1isfake
