Wing Helper 1.5.0 - Half-Rib Cutter
zhlédnutí 2,7KPřed 5 lety
This is a short demo of the new "Half-Rib Cutter" function. This special spar type cuts off only the aft part of the rib. If you also wish to cut off the front part of the rib, you can use a properly placed rectangular spar - just make sure that the "Vertical cut" box is ticked. The front part will still be visible, but you will exactly know where to cut off the rib if you only wish to keep the...

    I hope this message finds you well. I have been using Wing Helper to design the structures for my RC airplane wings, and I am very impressed with its capabilities. I am writing to ask if it is possible to export the 3D objects created by the program. This feature would be incredibly useful for my projects, Thank you for your time and assistance. I look forward to your response.

      @@kerrycorcoran4885 I'm not sure whom you were asking, me or Wayne. If you were asking me: I'm a good developer, but not much of a model builder. :) Still, if you have concrete questions, let me know, and maybe I can help! Basically, in Fusion you want to prepare your ribs for cutting (laying out, maybe doing some manual modifications if necessary), then print them as templates, use these templates to cut out the ribs from Balsa, and glue them all together. If you have never done it before, I suggest you look for videos on CZcams, to learn about different glues, how to cut balsa (grain orientation!), how to lay out all the wing elements on the plan and how to put it all together. There are really nice videos available - I suggest for example "Joyplanes RC", he has some great videos showing how he builds the wings. There is also, thanks to Wayne, a new unofficial discussion forum for Wing Helper, you can find it here: forum.alofthobbies.com/index.php?forums/wing-helper-support-forum.29/

      Hallo, danke für die schöne und positive Rückmeldung! ICE Export war der erste Versuch, 4-Achsen Drahtschneider anzusteuern. Der NGC Export ist da deutlich weiter und fortgeschrittener - und lt. Herr Letmathe, mit dem ich in Kontakt gestanden bin, hat ICE inzwischen auch die Möglichkeit bekommen, NGC Dateien zu lesen. Die Option, NGC Dateien zu exportieren, finden Sie unter Datei->Export. Ich glaube, dass das Dialog ziemlich selbsterklärend ist - wenn Sie Fragen haben, kontaktieren Sie mich bitte unter support@winghelper.com. hey, guys, I'm exporting the model for ICE foam cutter. You are missing the wire length parameter so it will not work for both portal and winch cutters. Pls update or let me know how to set it up. Problem - cutter makes incorrect sweep.

    • @alex.pozgaj
      @alex.pozgaj Před 6 lety

      Hello! You can enter all machine-related parameters, such as the wire length you mention, directly in the program ICE. That was one of the reasons why we chose ICE for the first step in the direction of G-Code export: it brings a lot of functionality with it, which otherwise would need to be implemented directly in the Wing Helper. In the next version, we are looking into extending the support for G-Code export and also to introduce support for specifying machine-related parameter.

    • @winghelper
      @winghelper Před 5 lety

      Update to my previous reply (posted as Alex Pozgaj): I know that the author of ICE is also working on the import function to support the Wing Helper generated NC code directly, so the integration will become even better in future.
