As an Italian, it sounds like some sort of Italian conversation that I can't totally understand because I'm maybe not focused enough or close enough. The cadence and the rhythm are impressive.

Anyone else here after listening to Mel Brooks's new book?

The French! Charlemagne, Marshal Foch and, then, you hear Bob Hope! I ALWAYS loved him as a kid. Comedy like his or that done by professional double talkers is hilarious to me. I watched a double talker posing as a judge admonish a Defendant in a minor criminal charge with the most hilarious string of legal terminology. The man before the judge would cut his eyes sideways, almost as if he wondered if others found it as melodramatic as it sounded to him, but he remained respectful. Then there are the people who double talk in business or who do political double speak, unaware that it is a "thing," and who think they are getting away with something.

Genius. This is such an unusual skill.

Wonderful days gone by with the great Sid Caesar...Always enjoyed him in the Show of Shows.

Sheer genius...he spoke gibberish with such style and confidence...pity he never starred in movies...

The Italian was fluent, every gesticulation was clear and in the right context.

For me the real genius of this was in the gestures much more than in the speech. I thought the French was by far the best of them all. I could only wish the editor of the clip let us see more of Caesar and didn’t waste so much footage on reaction shots. We didn’t need to be told how funny it is.

oh those 70s were so good. People were still happy, unstressed, there were problems in the world, but you felt hope that there would be a better tomorrow. The sitcoms were better, the movies, game shows, movies, there was a level of comfort and coziness that the 70s afforded. Families still sat together and watch Hockey Night in Canada on Saturday night. We visited my maternal grandparent's a lot - they were exactly like Edith and Archie Bunker to a tee. My dad and my grandfather would drink their coffee, smoke their cigarettes, chit chat, laugh, and I was right there on the sofa taking it all in and loving every precious moment of it. The best times were when there was a roaring blizzard outside, howling winds, ice pellets hitting the windows, and there we were nice and cozy and warm with the fireplace on, in a dim lit family room. It was heaven. My mom's brother uncle Carlos would come by with his wife every Saturday. I loved him a lot too. He was funny and cheered up the room. And when grandpa, my dad, and uncle Carlos going, it made for a nigh of laughs, great conversation, and perfect bliss. He gone noe too. All the people that mattered the most to me are gone. Nothinghas been the same since. I died along with them I think. After the game, a good movie would come on, something like either; 'the Guns of Navaronne', "the French Connection', or. 'Planet of the apes'. Pure bliss.My mom, sister and grandma would be in the kitchen baking cakes and chit-chatting. Who needed a million dollars? We had it all right there. Love, peace and happiness. Oh I so want to go back to that time, they were the happiest days of my life. My grandparent's have been dead for over 20 years, and nothing has ever been the same. I can't even watch those shows, movies anymore as it feels like my heart is being yanked out of me. I just can't seem to get excited about anything anymore. Those days will never come back.This life was too hard for people like me: too sensitive, too emotionally fragile, and the world we live in today leaves me miserable and cold - the bliss of life is gone, and I don't know how to get it back. I am basically living in the 70s, but at the same time I can't watch 70s movies, it's different vibe now. I can't even listen those great 70s tunes anymore as it makes me very depressed.I want the 70s back, but not in the 2021 context because it does not feel the same anymore. How am supposed to deal with the next 30 35 years of my life. In my state of mind, how can I endure this pain the rest of my life? Feel free to share any thoughts that you might have might for me. Any help advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for listening.

Sid Caesar ruled when it came to gibberish. He was a pure comedic genius.

Bob Hope.

He was the absolute master at speaking dialects. A remarkable talent and in addition he was also of genius at sketch comedy. He was a favorite of my dad who remarked that when Sid was out of character and just being interviewed he seemed uncomfortable and would stumble occasionally during speaking. So odd for a man blessed with such performance gifts.
