Curious if you still have the Prime? I am considering buying a Prime A4 with the motor & battery upgrade with 250 miles on it from somebody for $800 . Only reason I haven't bought it yet as I really wanted a folding stepthrough. I know the mid drive is alot faster and will go up hills a heck of alot better. Having a hard time deciding part of me says just get the Prime if it doesn't work out I could sell it and at leaat get my money back.

Buyer Beware: Sturmey-Archer not recommended to be installed on e-bikes with mid drive motors like the Bafang. Mine kept slipping in 3rd gear even after a 2nd warranty replacement hub from Biktrix. In the end I had to spend $500 to switch to a Shimano Nexus Inter5E and rebuild the wheel at my local shop.

I am a bit confused. If the prime has better torque then why does the Revenant have better acceleration? I thought torque was the same as acceleration or am I being ignorant. Great video by the way. I was considering getting the mega but think I will now get the Revenant. The mega is pretty similar to the prime I think.

Nireeka has terrible customer service. My Nireeka Mega had multiple problems they are not responding to my concerns. Option 1 to 5 doesn't make any difference. The ABS break broke twice both rotors, and they still did not replace it. Mr. Shojaie, the boss, promised a new display since 2022, and he never delivered it, and his comments on their website were never updated. DO NOT BUY THIS BIKE. Which model are you more satisfied with? :) Prime seems to look better, makes a greater impression. but there is no shock absorption (?) and the ride is probably not very pleasant in the field :) I don't like the fact that Bafang engines are noisy, you can hear the rattle because they use straight gears and not helical gears :( It would also be nice if they used a 2-chamber middle shock absorber (2 different air pressures :D :) There is no cruise control :( I really like this function in electric bikes and I use it often. And there is no temperature on the screen?

This is interesting. I've recently got a mid drive ebike for commuting. A little difficult to conduct so many down and up shifts in city traffic though. By the time gear up to speed id need to gear down to stop at a light. No throttle on my bike, and even on assist 1 it feels 'too easy'. Maybe I just need to chill and pedal less?

Great video on starting and stopping. Just a suggestion... It would have been good to hear what it sounds like when your motor is running optimally, cruising gears etc. Kinda like "At this speed in this gear when the engine sounds like this you can go all day..." Amazing video though, there's not enough info on these and people blame the manufacture for their lack of understanding.

I just ordered my first ebike which is a mid drive. I found your video to be very helpful, so thank you for making this video. However, while doing what you said in this video is for sure going to prolong the life of my bike's motor and battery, i'm worried that having to shift gears like that all the time is going to take the fun out of riding the bycicle, which is supposed to be a fun and enjoyable experience. I'm already thinking about the possibility of selling it and getting a hub motor ebike so that i dont have to do this all the time, and i'm probably going to have a lot more fun riding that type of ebike. What do you think?

Mid Drive Ebikes put all that torque thru the mechanical drive system of the bike which will run the components down. The hub drive does not put torque stress on the gears and pedal mechanics of the bike. If MTB riding is your game Mid drive is it. My fat tire air suspension Ebike grips off road like velcro but will not hit air do to the heavy back tire.

So, I haven’t had to reach out to Nireeka in a really long time, so I’m not sure how their current customer service is. But from what I remember, the last time I needed their help with something, they were pretty helpful. But any minor issue I’ve ever had has been resolved with a bike shop. I’ve never really had any serious issues with my Nireeka bikes that would require Nireeka to replace the part (such as the battery or motor). Everything else is pretty much your everyday mid-high tier bike parts that most bike shops are familiar with. Theyre still my favorite e-bike brand, despite some of the issues others may have had. I couldn’t be happier with mine.

We purchased this Vivi 27.5” electric bike and a Tentaquil 26” electric bike for our 13 and 14 year olds. czcams.com/users/postUgkxUiL0GnyDjP32RJdd660sP8mZk4CRLTCJ The Vivi was much easier to put together. With the Vivi, there was a video link to assist with assembly which made the process easier to follow (we did put the handlebars on upside down, but it was a quick and easy fix). With the Tentaquil, the assembly was not as simple to follow, but after we messaged the company for an assembly video, it was easier and they did respond quickly. The other major differences were that the Vivi has a grip throttle on the right handle (like a motorcycle) and the Tentaquil has a push throttle that you use your thumb to activate. The monitors were also different, so if you’re looking for something specific in terms of changing the bikes functions, pay attention to what the monitor offers. We were really impressed with the overall quality and functionality of both bikes, but if you’re looking for more power and an easier assembly, definitely go with the Vivi!
