Looks great, do you know the measurements on it?
The possessive form of "its" doesn't have an apostrophe.
My father was born and raised there. The home his father still stands there. It is the very unique a frame home just past the gas station on the left.
Ka-nare-uh
Great video! You saved me also!
Back in the mid 70s whin i was a teen my dad worked at hurky creek we lived in the red house it still looks the same but less trees My dads name is sterling clark he was there 17 years
Love Quail Valley Hopefully it remains hidden for many more years 😂😂😂
Where is the crankshaft sensor ?

The out-of-water pioneers on the wagon train must have been near sighted. You can see snow on the mountains in the background.
Weather is pretty fickle depending of the time of year in Cali, beside there is Indians up in those hills, lol.

👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎 Bastante malo tu video no dices nada acerca de cómo cambiar el cilindro maestro. . Tu video solamente sirve para perder 3 minutos de la vida de uno viendo un video que no sirve para nada
You left out the "Soaring". Any good? It's a amazing sport!
Just driving through I could tell it was popular out there.
Hi Frank. My fault code is 1 green 7 red. I notice while extending the sly it started off as normal halfway it seems that the motor was barging down. It eventually stopped, and then the code start coming.
Check the manuals for fault codes, send me and email @ rverfrank@gmail and I'll send you a copy of what I have.
Thank you!
A thumbnail of me to the left is me and my little dog Lucy sitting in a camp chair big meadow, site three. I have also commented twice below under Eagle Mountain Forge. I guess I like your video! I keep coming back to it. I wish I could get back to big Meadow!
I have not been back to big Meadow for three years! That makes me sad,
Yes it has been several years myself, definitely someplace to return as often as possible. I've got a few more years before I time out.
✌️
It is amazing how unpopulated that valley was back during filming. That road is a speedway now days.
I tried it there once. Too claustrophobic.
You are right, back in the day it was a prime camping trip before the 395 highway was improved. Took days to get there from LA.
How much did it sell for
$45K
Austin's soda fountain? The P.O. and Austin's are too separate facilities!!! I stopped watching after this blunder.
The Austin soda fountain moved/combined (went to both before and after) with the new Austin market, the the Post Office moved from across the street into the old Austin soda fountain. This was accomplished around when the new police station by the Courthouse was built. It helps to have lived there to know the past history of the town.
What brand?
Not sure, the sofa came with the Wilderness travel trailer and repurposed for the Van.
Where did you get the sofa couch
The sofa came with the Wilderness travel trailer and repurposed for the Van.
That is one nice rig
Thanks, had to let it go a few years ago to a Search & Rescue in the St George area. It had all the "bells and whistles" required for that back country duty.
If this video was taken 2 years ago in 2021 Quail Valley has not changed in the last 3-plus years. It was a pleasure watching this video. Thank you!
Actually was filmed 2/2017. Hope it stays the same as back then. 👍
@@RVerFrank I moved out of Menifee in 89 and lived off Bundy Canyon not far from Murietta Rd I think it was where Bundy turned into Scott Rd. That section of Bundy completely all the way to where you were in Quail Valley there seems to have frozen in time which I find incredible. Other than the sign change I got goose bumps when you went by the circle K especially. 😄
2023 it hasnt really changed
Love the car and love the vid!!!! Well done!!!!!!!
any military jets fly overhead at low level??
Further South & East around China Lake/Ridgecrest/29 palms/Death Valley areas.
My grandparents lived in Onyx during the 60s and knew the owners. Fond childhood memories.
Bought a 2018 fleetwood fair low miles. Having this issue also. This is a major defect by fleetwood. No way to lift lid and see no easy access for bracket hardware on passenger side to try and lower box platform Not the easiest to disassemble the wiper motor either. What did you come up with ?
At around 11,000 miles I traded the RV in for a travel trailer so I never needed to change the air filter. The blue cap should have removed the dealer at time of purchase as it covers the airbox water drain.
Did You notice the 2 light Bulbs Hanging from the ceiling of the General store still giving off dim light? If you had looked through the door at the bank you could see the open safe inside.
No I did not see the dim light and I don't recall the open safe,
Wow the mine was still active back then. I'm a trucker and I've been wanting to visit Rhyolite for a while, but it's hard to get a load going through there. I've seen some more recent weird ghost towns though. Usually it's on a US HWY in a town that lost business when they put in the Interstate a few miles away. There was one in Nevada, on US 6 about 8 miles before you hit the border in California. It was a dark night, and I just spotted it and I needed a place to shut down because I was running out of hours. I shined a flashlight around to see what it was. It just a burned out motel, a creepy burned out gas station/convenience store, etc. Looks like it was once a town until one day a gang of bikers came in and torched the town. I noped the hell out of there!
I hear ya, lol. Lot's of sketchy people out in that part of the desert and worse today for many reasons. I don't wander off the beaten path anymore in Cali or Nevada, even if have to pass through there. Owens Valley has always been a great place to visit/fish the surroundings but not sure it is much of a truck route for other than milk runs to supply the few towns left up 395.
How long is the actual dimension of the shape?
If i recall it was a 36" shade.
Frank the question is did the cold air intake make a difference on your gas mileage?
Hard to tell with the the various roads we traveled, elevation changes pulling a toad. I recall the best mileage was 10 mpg and worse. It was I think the old school thinking that improving cold air flow can't hurt and too much time for low cost projects to find things to tinker with, lol.
Very much enjoyed your interesting video!
No part two or follow up video? Your page jumps right over this??? Boo sir. Boo you
Here you go, czcams.com/video/_PE1QiPhzh8/video.html Enjoy
I know this is an old video. But I can open that combination lock up in about a minute and a half
That's pretty impressive. I generally think a lock won't keep the crooks from there intentions, lol, especially out in the desert. I've since sold the X3 because of that.
Memories! In 1970, my dad bought a place in Wrightwood, a half hour drive away in the mountains S/W of Hesperia/Apple Valley. The Apple Valley Inn became a favored place for dinner location, especially when Dad found out that Roy & Dale liked to come into the restaurant for "Table Touches". In 1972, the "getaway" became the family's full-time residence, and, for the next fifteen years, the folks continued to frequent the Apple Valley Inn. To the best of my knowledge, they never did meet either Roy or Dale. Oh, well!
The memories experienced from visiting the little museum was fun. Talked to the son of neighbors of Roy and Dale back then who had some interesting info on the Victorville museum and it's being closed and sold off to buyers of contents. The museum in Lone Pine has a great display worth stopping by while in the Owens Valley area.
He was my great uncle and brother of my great grandmother Amy Lubken Fraser. Great video!
John H Lubken was a great man and knowing so makes that drive even more interesting.
Is the power step for the van or did you modify one from a f350? Because I can't find one on the website
It was a special order and installed by Rancho Muffler in Temecula CA who had the tools for the job.
Enjoyed your adding of the brochures very much thank you
They help to see what the prices were back then.
OMG does this Place still Exist? I want to go. I Had No Idea this Place was Here ❤️
Yes it is still here! The Apple Valley Legacy Museum is well worth the visit! Also now there are many businesses that are located in the Apple Valley Inn cottages.
Rock Creek is a beautiful area to camp, fish, and hike. One of my favorites!
The fire that was occurring during our trip gave an eerie hays which obscured the view. One of my favorite areas too and for many others now days.
Thank you, I appreciate the video of the campground. It’s hard to find videos for this place that show the whole campground. I also enjoyed the commentary, you two are too cute 😊 Safe travels to you.
Glad you enjoyed it
paterson house is the history data of unknown history data very little but a dam flood was bad to make it un live able my house is hidden by trees built 1900 farmhouse
Pretty standard stuff with low quality video. How’s the dog? Star of the show.
Just a run of the mill roadside stop, Coco is doing fine but a little more testy in her older age, lol.
Wow thanks for the video! I am planning on taking my girl out on the Harley out there, and proposing to her in a special spot. Do you have any tips for a good spot? Maybe on top of a hill or something? Something I could park and see the view! Thank you!!
This reply may be a little late.....most of the surrounding area is held by private ranchers who are wary of strangers.....lots of guarded grow fields you don't want to come up on, alone. Check out some of my other places traveled that may be of interest.
@@RVerFrank haha! Slightly late but that’s okay! I ended up finding a spot off the side of the road and proposed. Gorgeous area so thank you. Getting married in 28 days! Thanks for the reply!!
There was supposed to be 22 casinos?!
The place is in a constant state of change over the years. I'll check it out again this year sometime.
Very interesting. We've visited Lone Pine a few times, but didn't know about the wall or it's sad history. Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it
"The Indian Lover" is a novel by Garth Murphy is a good read on the history of this place and its people through it's transition. It was an idyllic place for the natives.
Thanks for the info. Interesting history for a remote area of CA.
I spent most of my summers on the Eaton Ranch down the road about a mile. best time of my life my mom was a waitress at the lodge busy place in the ski season the ski lift was a half mile down the road. She also worked at the Village inn in Mammoth lakes Pryer to the and during the time mammoth ski lift was built.
Wow, what an interesting period to grow up during that time given the overall past history in the area. Hope to revisit the area again during the off season.
Is there gold in the creek
Fools Gold!... but maybe real treasure somewhere?
