She is gorgeous just like Lady Tremaine and Maleficent. 🥰

So-called "Eleanor Audley" wasn't even her real name. She was born Eleanor Zellman. She obviously sold-out her birth name to greedy & deceitful "Hollywood" moguls, with the anticipation of greater recognition & money. It also implied parental & heritage disrespect.

The way I view this, this can be interchangeable with the first class dinner scene in James Cameron's 'Titanic', just sub in Cary and Ron with Jack and Rose, and Eleanor's character with Rose's mother, and have it all 43 years earlier on a doomed ocean liner... it all plays out so similarly ("Where have I seen you before?"... "Tell us about the accomodations in steerage, Mr. Dawson"). This is how you write superb melodrama (melody-in-drama), filmmakers.

He must have been born in 51 or 52 to be 5th grade lol. That makes me feel quite old because I was born in 55 and now I'm a senior citizen lol. Lord I miss them days when my parents were still alive and I was a little boy without a worry in the world. Now I'm a old man sitting up in bed with my two Chihuahuas watching the Beverly Hillbillies wishing I was a lot younger lol.

I love how her tone changes after her phone conversation with Mr. Drysdale.

She was also the voice for the evil stepmother in the original Cinderella 💕💕

She was Oliver's mother on Green Acres 😂!

As a teacher, this is hilarious to watch because if a principal today treated a prospective family like Eleanor Audley does here, and the family was in the situation the Clampetts are in, the principal would be sued, crucified, and their schools' reputation would be annihilated.

What a bitch, she just assumed they were poor by their appearance, and treated them badly. The joke's on her! Not too different from how poor people are treated today.

so i saw this last year, and its funny her name here is milicent, then she went on to voice maleficent..quite similar names ;) this lady has the natural voice of one of my favorite disney villains..that voice for life=AMAZING

This is soooooo freaking funny that I laughed with tears streaming down. Like Mrs. Drysdale Mrs. Potts is a laugh riot. Eleanor is a brilliant comedienne! Her reaction to Jethro in uniform is a treasure.

Eleanor was quite eccentric as I recall. A sweetie. Great voice. She spoke with a proper Mid-Atlantic accent, which is how properly trained American actors spoke before all the god-awful surfie-boy nasal accents took hold.

Funny thing is she looked like Cinderella's stepmother. I wonder if they drew Cinderella's stepmother's face with Audley in mind.
