Hell yeah we use that exact model
Aw yeah! You gotta have it!
Forgot your prism. Total station ain't much good without it.
Thank you for commenting, you're right in that we should have included the prism in this vid, a must have. 👍
what about a builders level?
We absolutely use those, mostly to transfer elevations on our control points 👍
These are pretty cool! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
This guys gotta be from Louisiana
100% Cajun Proud. We are based out of Lafayette. Thanks for watching 👍
Whatttt, that’s awesome ! You go girl 💪🏼
We agree! ♥
awesome
It should use a 2 stroke diesel generator with batteries, is that what it is?
Hey Justin, it actually uses 2 stroke gas with backup batteries 👍
We came across a section corner in the Apalachicola national forest in the early 1970s. It was solid lighter with Roman numerals cut into it
Oh that's interesting! Very cool find!
Amazing !! I work similar to you n Brazil. In a Sanitation Company we locate sewer cover with metal locator, and then we register using Trimble GNSS
I work at the largest sanitation company in Brazil as a surveyor. How could I become a surveyor in the USA?
That is interesting, do you use a lot of the same equipment?
Don't be fooled into thinking the Earth is not flat. Both work from the same benchmarks.
100%!!
Great explainer vid, but I have one question. At what point does the earth go from a flat surface to a curved one?
@@peacefultyrant_ Water is level it has no convexity.
I assume the program that is used for mapping has “trigonometry” type calculators right?
Yes, you're absolutely right! Many mapping programs and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) utilize trigonometry calculations behind the scenes.
What is the aproximate price of one of this drones?? Havent seen any other so fit for agricultural aplications, but is it good in cost/benifit?
This UAV isn't outfitted for Agriculture spraying but can be outfitted with any camera (multispectral) for those uses. However, here's another option that may fit your needs-American made UAV for Agricultural spraying www.hyl.io/

I need this tech cause i don't need proffesional 3D scanner yet
So, there's hope for me?
Im in the same boat as you😅
Me
if i work under a surveyor as im in college, does that count towards the intern part of the timeline?
Hi @shuffleman38, that will largely depend on which state you're in. Here in Louisiana, it does count towards years of experience required to be licensed. We recommend taking a look at the Boards Rules and Laws to confirm 👍
LG v60... may it R I P.
Rocket engineers got us into space using those.
It's very upsetting that no other Android phones adopted a LiDAR scanner in their phones, especially those that cost over a $1000 USD.
We absolutely agree with you on that one 👍
Yeah, my Drone has 50 L gas tank. Oh yeah. 😂😂 and lift more than your Drone can handle.
Tell us more about your drone. We're always interested to see what else is out there 👍
I found source my 7th GGF , John Friend was a land surveyor for George Washington . He settled territory now known as Friendsville Maryland
I gotta taste them all

Fun Fact Theonolites Tracked a UFO over Sandia National Laboratories in 1950 at 120,000 Feet it was 30 feet long and traveled at thousands of miles an hour.
Thank you!!!
You're welcome!
LOVE! the construction content!
Thank you for watching!
The fact I just randomly find my dad?
What if you can't open cut the road, what type of pipe is used?
Hi @twwtjohns, we sent Scott Courville (our Construction Inspector) your question and he replied, "I've never came across a situation where the road couldn't be open cut to install drainage. Depending on the pipe size needed, I'm sure boring can be done to make a pilot hole and then drive the pipe through the hole." I hope this answers your question. Thanks for watching!
Smell is a big give away also. Its like a musty, arm pit just out of no where but more intense. Kind of the way you can smell fish on a bed.
Thank you for commenting! Scott said he could smell them water moccasins from a mile away 🐍

I always see this while driving. What exactly is this thing doing???
The total station is a versatile instrument that can be used to collect a wide range of data about the earth's surface. That data can then be used to create accurate and precise maps and models to build new roads, construct buildings, or manage environmental resources.
As far as I'm concerned, safety is a function of craftsmanship: the speed at which you work most safely is the speed at which you do your best work.
We couldn't agree more, thank you for watching!
Truncated domes is the raised bumps
It looked like there was limestone in that? When we do flow fill we don't put any stone in it at all. Just Cement, Sand, additives and lots of water.
@dandunning4409 thanks for commenting! We used stock footage to try to help explain the process, as we didn't get a chance to record the flowable fill in action. Hopefully we'll get a recording of it soon! 👍
@@Fenstermaker Well I certainly know what it is. I have been delivering Concrete for 20 years now. We have all front discharge mixers and have 4 plants and 2 portable plants. The plant I work at averages about 700 yards every day. Some days we hit 1000 yards some days only 350 but we keep extremely busy.

Bro I still don’t know what that thing does
Hey @pzykpet3183, to answer your question, a Sokkia digital level is a tool that uses a laser to measure the height and angle of things. It is used by surveyors and engineers to do things like set out building foundations, level roads, and measure the height of buildings.
