On my Mikro MK3, when I'm in Slice Edit, the pads aren't automatically populating to preview the slices before hitting Apply. Is there something I'm missing? I've seen something in the manual about a Cue Bus. Is that what's going on here?

King Pls how do you quantize in the maschine software without hard ware?

It would be cool if Maschine also had audio quantise, not just MIDI quantise, for both the audio and sampler modules. That way, if you had samples with different grooves, you could quantise the audio and add your own groove or have groove quantise templates so you could get samples to have the same groove.

The MPC 3 update is basically turning your MPC into the akia force which is the first DAW in a box it has the exact same arrange mode lol

It’s a step backwards because they are getting rid of major fictions . Example , on mpc2 you can transpose each sequence , intro -3 , hook -0 , first 4bars +3 , second 4bars +2 , brakedown -3 . your beat elevates, switches up the sound change’s going higher and lower making the beat sound interesting and extremely good . The new update will get rid of that and you will have to work really hard to do something that takes 2 seconds.

We have a generational software update (Maschine 3) in the works, due out later this year, which will of course be compatible with Maschine Plus. The Maschine v2 software needs a major update in the main UI. Just look at the Maschine browser, preferences, dialogs and font rendering, or some of those microscopic tiny icons you have to click on. It is old and pure eye- and hand-strain. Luckily, they started to modernize parts 🙏🐌🙄

Man I’m so jealous of this update. I’ve never considered an MPC until this update. My machine plus is currently collecting dust. I switched to the Push 3 but still miss some of what maschine offered. I fear that even when NI drops the update, it’s still gonna be two steps behind Akai.

This is a serious update. One feature that makes it so is Audio streaming from the HARD DISK! Before and with all other attempts at standalone daws it has been recording and streaming audio from the RAM, (Roland Fantom G, Mv-8800, All MPC’s which is why it is very limited and unstable if you try to record as a standalone daw. The Korg Nautilus and Kronos I think are about the only standalone hard disk streaming devices that truly allow you to record freely and edit freely, unfortunately most people don’t know nor understand this. Hard Disk streaming, in a box, with a battery is a massive game changer and something I’ve been waiting for, for decades. Not to mention the new UI is insane, I absolutely cannot wait for this!!

I do pray for machine next software update to have custom chord mapping assigned to pads and additional clip editing features in arrange mode. that is all it needs. Time will tell.

That’s true Akai is doing right and NI slipped a bit. My Kontrol MK3 sits in the corner as it doesn’t play nice with my Maschine. 😂

Wrote this on Bolo's video the other day, and another user here pointed that out too: an arranger on a small screen like this won't bring you that far, so people who wants to finish their songs will still rely on PC/Mac's digital Daw. The heavy use on touch screen put the MPC on a weird spot too, as it is a standalone... that is now closer to a pc/laptop workflow (?). With a Roland MC 101, and/or Novation Circuits for example you mainly rely on the physical hardware/buttons/sliders to pull off your sound and you can bring them wherever you want... here you have not so portable, expensive hardware that now have a more "abstract" workflow that make them close to pc publishing but with very small screen and less powerful than a pc/mac with a decent monitor.

MPC users 2016: I don’t want no DAW. MPC is the one. MPC users 2024: the new MPC 3 is just like a DAW!

Arrange view is not practical on small screens that is why Roland had a DV out on the MV8800 to hook up a PC monitor. Since Akai is going the Abelton/Logic daw style I minus well continue to use Abelton since its way ahead of Akai at the moment. The MPC is no longer an MPC with this update in my opinion.

A lot of these features have been poached from the Akai Force. Force users have been telling MPC users for a couple years that the MPC was behind the FORCE in time. I use both and have had these very feature in the Force. The Force is a true standalone DAW

Native Instruments seems to only want you to use their stuff how they want you to and nothing else I really think they don't care about what we want as the consumer... like I said I'm giving them until Feb. 2025 to bring a new Maschine out they keep updating Maschine software for what I just updated a couple of days ago and last month also but what is the update for.... because no Komplete kontrol mk3 integration...they need to come with it because I'm definitely thinking about getting the MPC Live 2!!!

The AKAI MPC is absolutely menu heavy and the workflow is too slow in comparison to Maschine. This new update however looks amazing and could be the fix to improving the slow workflow.

NI better drop Maschine studio plus soon 3.0
