Just paint the pvc pipe or cover it with a hollowed limb with moss on it. I love the rusted metal having grown up by the ocean.
This is fantastic…I could take a nap listening to it….its beautiful ❤
That there is an old timey ninja cowboy throwin star!
I knew it!
Nice looking chickens

How to get the eggs
Looking good
Brings back memories of when Prince was a babe 🤣
Nicely done, my guy! Your pig, your house, your family, your rules. Don’t listen to the haters!
What breed?
These are Berkshires! They have amazing temperaments and insanely marbled pork
@@mcdonaldfarm2925 Berkshires have delicious chops and wonderful bacon, sausage. Chris Leigh's Wonder Pork from Rankin, Illinois sells Berkshire meat off his farms.
are they brooders?
Absolutely. A big mama found a little cactus patch to herself and snuck a hatch in on us last year. One must be diligent to collect eggs often. When we do that, we don’t have any brooding issues.
Wild Muskadine Grapes
Did y’all raft it?
Not yet!
Did you see them chickens?
Did you see the size of that chicken? 😂
Big mamas in the chicken run! Can be scary to collect eggs from under these giant hens! You could make a week of meals from them at this size though.

Are the white ones a special type?
So you fed a potbelly for 8 months for maybe 45 pounds of meat? Lmao just get real pigs my guy. Potbelly and kune kunes are pet pigs lol
Poor babies they want out
We have 108 acres they free range on. They are not confined all the time. We kept them inside for the day to get a good headcount and sort out our breeding stock vs birds to sell that year.
@@samantharodgers7280 Sounds good. I am learning as I go. My Rooster that I raised since a baby just started coming at me. I love him, so it's hard.
Lotta rain lately?
Not enough!
box cutters use box cutters
Ah of course!
Nicely done.
I think you guys are in over your head ..first clue was the wire used to fence small pigs that can walk through the spacing 😂😂😂...second was it was entirely to hot to butcher hogs 😂😂😂..third you didnt wash and scub dirt before skinning 😂😂😂..why risk contamination of your meat by not washing and scrubbimg ..you guys would be more comfortable with wal mart pork ..just sayn
We ate that pork a year ago brother, didn’t know being in over my head would feel so good…
What of Kinda pigs in New pasture
Purebred berkshires. They were processed in September 2023 and weighed about 300lbs each
Great question! Because our new piglets were on the way. Much better results with Berkshires.
Promo>SM 😣

@@mcdonaldfarm2925 Keep the cutlery sharp!

Wow, you have some beautiful wyandotte, I wished you lived closer. We are in the Odessa area:)
Regarding the well, get down in that man hole and look around real hard for a pipe stub or at least a hole through the cement wall. The supply would have been deep enough so that it would not freeze. What's up with the union on the deck at 6:30 in the video - lower right corner. Is that a hint? Measure down to the water level for future reference. You will want to be able to confirm if it is drying up in the future. Get the water tested. The aquifer is covered with row crops. You really need to know what has migrated into the well over time. There is a lot of trash floating on the top of the water so there's your indication that a lot of organic material has hit that water and sunk to the bottom over the years. It would likely require a pump out and physically going down into the well to shovel out the muck that has filled in the bottom Suggestion wait: for the driest time of year and see if the water level falls substantially. That's when you do a clean out. Never go down a well alone. Toxic gas can snuff you right out for good. THere will be many loads of muck that someone will have to pulley up to the top. If you do get it cleaned out, the well will produce more water and it will be much clearer. My hunch is the brown color is a result of tannins leaching from oak leaves. Before you haul out another tote, I would shock the well with a gallon of household bleach. Let it sit for a few days and all the organic material will neutralize the bleach. Then take another tote and see if the color and smell improves. (keep a sample jar filled to the top and sealed of each tote you bring in while shocking to see progress.) Store your samples in a cool dark place. If you see progress, continue to shocking. If you find a pipe stub ib the manhole or in your basement, pressurize it with water and go for a walk in a straight line from your house to the well pit. If it's broken, you'll find a wet spot(s). Trace it all the way back to the manhole. You may find water pouring into the well!?! BE SAFE!😊
Good info, thank you. Do you think the big hackberry trees are drinking much from the well?
@@mcdonaldfarm2925 I don't think they would have a significant impact on water production capacity. Hackberry's are known as a low water need tree. Although, they may be the source of much of the organic material that has fallen into the well over the years. So it may be a good idea to remove a few of the trees that hang over the well opening. The small purple fruits (drupes) way be a bigger contaminant than leaves. Use your judgement because you know the distances and what your plans are to keep organic trash out of the well in the future. If you can use the firewood, remove the few that hang over the opening. If you don't need firewood and none hang over the opening, build a A frame type structure with a doorway to enclose the opening. But pump it out with a trash grinder pump before you close it in. Hope that helps 😊
Your brush hog is too low and it's not level. In forward the back end is down. You don't want to run a brush hog lower than 6" off the ground. Go lower and your damaging the ground cover and your machine with every collision. 8" is better. I see at 3:16 the follow wheel iso on the lowest setting. Raise her up.
nice catch
Thanks, they are flying this memorial day weekend, folks posting around Georgetown with swarms in there yards.
Purdy good lookin hive you got there. You reckon you'll boost that little swarm with a frame of brood to boost em?
I gave them the best 6 frames I salvaged from the trashed hive.
I'm kinda excited about that
Nice
