Saw him twice in the last few years in solo gigs. He still has it all. So unbelievably creative & tasteful. We are so fortunate to live in a time when there are such musicians.

Can't stand his playing. He's not a jazz player. He's a hybrid of classical and country styles with a dash of creativity.

He is on the same rarified plateau as Jeff Beck when it comes to being utterly unique in his playing. Deserves far more recognition. That drummer is very good too, nice to see a player who can work a slimmed down kit

in my opinion great improv happens when the feeling expressed in the original music is still sensed in the improv, In this case after about 15 seconds it just became note after note over some chord changes, it takes real genius to create a simple beautiful melody and then to expand on it with out losing the intent and emotion of the original line. There are very very few 'Masters" of the guitar or any instrument.

The telecasters the most unforgiving guitar you can play imo. It’s like shooting fish in a barrel for him. Actually think he uses the dynamic’s to his advantage as a great probability should.
