I decided to learn cursaive in the summer after the 4th grade in preparation of the 5th grade cursaive requirements. I spent hours on perfecting my writing only for it to be removed as a requirement from the curriculum in the fall 😂😂😂

The key detail is to make sure your letters stay the same height. It's one of those focal points that helps make it look professional. But most importantly don't rush through it. Keep a steady pace.

You learn cursive from a copy book, not slow practice. Some letters are weird, e.g. b. Never did this. Only practicing and your writing is a neater version of what it is. Until recently a police officer's notebook was very important, e.g. dated and written by them at the time.

Speed is good, imagine your writing is so slow it can't keep up with thoughts. Years ago, people would have a small recording device, and say each sentence, for typing verbatim by a typist. This is also a skill, and now the typing can be fully computerised. Now I'm old enough to realise that now most essays are marked on handwriting, not the content.

We started learning cursive in P5, 1969, using a dip pen. Many families would find buying a fountain pen difficult so we all learned using the same equipment. No biros were ever permitted. Pencil only up to that time.

I wrote really slow in school and that caused me to speed up as if it were a competition, I later came to find my handwriting was abysmal and I blame the fact I sped up and never just went my own pace. Soon I hope to have very tidy and neat handwriting.

You pick up your pen between certain characters. Cursive is supposed to flow without picking up the pen, except between words.

Not really. Your camera work, presentation, angles, were horrendous! It was a pain to watch and was extremely annoying. I enjoyed the story and your penmanship; but the camera angles made it difficult to get its full experience.

Its strange couse cursive is the standard in romania like some teacher will just refuse to read if its not cursive

If your writing on paper with lines tear another sheet out and lay it behind the one your writing on but slant the sheet so the lines are running at an angle this way you can use the lines to have your letters running in the same direction this helps line it up and more organized.

I wished I could get my dip nib to my dipping fountain pen to hold ink as long as your fabricated fountain pen.

Left handers can't write in cursive style because the hand motion slants the wrong way.

I've learn cursive writing, I'm a 45 years young Canadian. Honestly it's the fastest way to write something. (Excluding Codes, Steno, etc...) It's smooth, fast, logic. When learnt just after the script writing, it's nearly automatic at that young age. I understand that everything goes numeric nowadays, keyboard, cell phone, etc... But..... It's a Basic Survival skill to have, being able to write fast and read it fast or at least being able to read it. Power Outage for a month, no cellphone, you need to take notes, fast, someone's dying. (I know... lol . Worst Case Scenario) It's a basic skill we collectively need. Oh! I WON!!!!! A Mont Blanc Fountain Pen at an event back in 1999 in Montréal. It's nearly a one of a kind. Montblanc Writers Edition 1998 Edgar Allen Poe Fountain pen. Go check it out, I use it daily, take a really good care of it. I don't drop it, NOBODY except me touches it, I work with it, it's my primary pen, we're in 2024, it's 25 years old and work like new.
