I Have cleaned the carburetor twice with no change. I've also checked to make sure that it was not the throttle cable getting stuck

Nice job man, I have a friend of a friend who converts these old horse trailers into Campers/Tiny homes. He uses Tractor Paint to paint them, It's cheap and durable.
Looks awesome man. Lots of tedious work.
Did you figure out what was wrong with. My atv does the same thing. I cleaned carb twice and changed coil. Still does it. I think it may be a valve problem
Nice job 👍 I need to get started on mine
Beautiful work
Nicely done. I have a 2-horse trailer that I got cheap that needs a little work. Thanks for the video.
Good video thanks for putting it up, can you tell me what size air compressor you used with that paint gun?
Great job
Very nice job. I just bought a rusty Ponderosa very similar to that and want to give it the same treatment. Thanks
Did you have to thin the paint at all to use the Graco Magnum?
Six afternoons..... Translate to 30 hours or so?
Same did you fix it
How did you know it was only surface rust versus deeper issues?
You learn to tell by the thickness of the metal vs the depth of the rust and how much the rust looks like it has "eaten" away. It will actually look like a deeper crevice and that it you go over it to sand that you will be able to see to the other side. Now, in some areas that are not of major importances this is not a life or death issue and sometimes epoxy is used to fill rust spots and then sanded to create and nice smooth and even surface to paint. The issue you are looking for is if these rust spots are on major metal pieces such as the frame work of the trailer. If they are many or just one spot that happened to have water sitting or a high water flow area under a tree. If the areas are small and likely wont go through if you go over it with a wire brush or if you are going to need to actually replace metal or do body work on the trailer. One small heavy wear spot here or there that is not on a piece of frame and is so small I can epoxy and sand is something I can deal with. . . . . . . .20 spots I would need to epoxy to have a smooth surface after sanding because the rust is everywhere is a different story and gives me much greater pause to get that trailer a thorough go through as I expect rust in places I don't want to "fix" like the frame and I'm not going to be welding that. When you see the rust spots you can tell if they look like they have eaten a crater into the metal or if they are just eating the finish off kind of everywhere and it needs a new paint job, but there is plenty of metal left to work with.
@@blackdandelion5549 Thank you so much for taking the time to answer!! That's very helpful😊
This is awesome, Eric. Thank you! I just bought a nearly 50 year old Hart horse trailer and I'll be doing the same restoration process starting this spring. Can you tell me the name of that paint gun you used, again?
Don't have a tripod, camera fell over hahaha. Our life in a sentence.
Thks did in joy it im looking at a stock trailer to make in to a bar!!
Do you know what that trailer is rated to tow?
How many gallons of paint did you use?
Great job! Thanks for doing this!
Nicely done sir
Clear, simple, and to-the-point. Love it
Love this vid, what would you suggest for a front seam on the roof of the dog nose of gooseneck? The seam in rusted completely thru about 2 in on either side.
Nice job. I’m going to be starting a rebuild soon. Hope it looks as nice as what you have done.
Try putting a fuel filter in that worked for me
😢😢 Ehrenlos
😂😂😂
I liked the before you painted it
Looks great 😊😊
Where did you get the trim peices at? I need new ones for mine
This commentary reminds me of my grandpa transferring old super eights onto VHS with his fancy new camcorder in the late 80s. Him and grandma just giving commentary in real time
Very cool thanks
Nice!
I have to do a major on mine too, repair inside divider and latches and rear door latches and slider and wiring lol
Great video thanks for the ideas!
Looks amazing! Do you need to wax oil based paint to keep its finish?
You shouldn't really need to if you've used a sealant. I like Sparthane since it's made for boats its very thick and lasts thru the elements
But if no sealant was applied waxing can help longevity
My idles high bc the throttle is stuck but I think I placed it wrong I am only 13 and tried to take apart a carb but I rebuilt it right
Way cool! Looks fantastic
Great job, Did you use any hardner when painting? Or and thinner mix in the paint?
Eric, what thickness of plexiglass did you use and where did you get it from?
What a waste of my time
Great job!!
Has the rust come through later on? Do you wish you sprayed it with a neutalizer first?
Looking to do a refurbish myself. Your project looks great. May I ask what you had for cost in the trailer initially? I'm just trying to avoid getting hosed and everything I find needs extensive metal work. I don't mind some and I can weld "some" but im just trying to avoid losing my shirt on what I get into.
Looks awesome!
Great job! Come and do mine!😂
where are you located??? lol
I have a Bayou 220 and 250 that idled poorly. They wouldn't race like the one in the video but they idled irregularly and required throttle input for the first few minutes of warm up or they'd die out. My carbs were spot free clean. I think the throttle bores were worn out. I ended up replacing both carbs with chinses carbs. I installed the factory jets and have had no issues. The chinese carbs are a good cheap solution for bad OEM carbs. The quad in this video might have had more issues than what I've described. That sure looks like a lean condition (Air leak) or the throttle is hanging up.
Nice job.
Wonderful job! We must think some what a like..I will be doing same thing. Juan Bowers family
long lost cousins i suppose
Picked up a nearly identical big valley trailer today for 800 bucks. Could I get this done in a couple weekends?
absolutely!
Did you ever find out what the issue was?
Did you have to thin your paint? I've got a 14 ft to do shortly. Any help would be appreciated.
