You're ground is still rubbish Up the best team in the south southampton
Portsmouth fc back again to the championship fa second tier league Congrats I love this club!!!! Fratton park stadium must be expanded 35,000 Thats a must
You'll never be in the premiership league. Southampton are in the premiership
Congrats by the way@@richardgriffin5466
Definitely needs more seats in the future or another tier at some point
Only 20,000 still umm
Staying at Fratton Park was the right thing to do. Fans love the uniqueness of the ground and its atmosphere and the renovations have made it beautiful too. There is room for expansion as well. If just the North stand gets renovated the capacity can go up to 27,000. That’s enough anyway without moving to a soulless bowl. 👍🏻⭐️🌙
I am old enough to remember when Pompay were champions. I can not see that creating a slightly more modern 20000 seater ground is what the fans deserve. Surely it could be quite easily increased to 30000+ . This is one of England's sleeping giants. It could/should far outstrip any other Southern club outside London
Needs to be bigger. Any club with 75% of capacity season ticket holders needs a bigger stadium.
Its a shame Portsmouth never got to build the new stadium in Gunwharf Quays . The design was brilliant and would have been one of the most iconic in the country.
Nothing on the Dell
we are qpr, see you guys next season hopefully
Would have looked so much better if the seats matched the ironwork. They've copied sunbleached seats for man city seats
looks the same so the club choose the cheapest option possible that's all that needed to be said
So what laid concrete over old concrete
is the away end still dry/no alcohol sold?
Nope
Why’ve they changed colour of the seats in the fratton end
A lot of fancy talk, but at the end of it the capacity is still only what, 20k? Way too small if Portsmouth are to progress.
Nothing beats this old girl when she's rocking. We're the best supporters in the world. Play Up Pompey.
is it Safe Standing or standard seats throughout?
“Best supporters in the World “😂 With that absolute clown with bell leading you pmsl
You can't be serious haha English support is shit, the Dell was better , small stadiums are easy to make noise
❤
Steve has done well, from a hod carrier to a managing director go on you Steve👍
2nd of April it will be rockin'. Respect DCFC
20k but best atmosphere in England
Not England the world 💙💙👍👍😃
You can't be serious
Ever been to Goodison park?
@@gjh997 yeah, once. Awful atmosphere
@@gjh997awful atmosphere.Everton have never been known for atmosphere
The plural of Stadium is Stadia
Looks great guys, safer and keeping the close in atmosphere whilst not spending a fortune the club does not have, whats not to like!!
Music too loud and dramatic
‘Only the under 40’s would complain as they weren’t there when it held big crowds’ … as you continue to moan throughout your whole post. Put the keypad down old man and enjoy it it for what it is. Miserable old sod.
I remember this kid running around The Swan in Cosham as a 12 year old. Very rich now I assume? However, if you think it's progress to knock Fratton Park about and call it "modernising" then you're wrong. It used to hold over 45,000 and I've been there in amongst crowds of that size back in the 1960's. The atmosphere then was exactly the same as now, it's nothing new. Having just 20,000 in there and calling that progress is insulting to all fans. It's just another building company making money out of work that didn't need to be done in the first place. Only the under 40's would complain as they weren't there when it held big crowds. They were still in nappies or not born. All these so called "improvements" have done is decrease the amount of people who can watch Pompey and satisfy the ridiculous laws that say grown men and women can't be trusted to stand up watch a football match without anyone getting injured. For the record, I stood on The Kop at Anfield in 1972 when it held 23,000, all standing. Something I will never ever forget. Going with the flow from side to side all game and singing to my hearts content and guess what......? Nobody ever got hurt! Sorry for that all you woke youngsters but it's true. It's called being grown up.
Like it or not, having 20k in there when we were heading towards a maximum of 14k IS progress. The 1970s aren't coming back and FP is looking great
Quality over quantity is still progress.
The work did need doing; the stadium was falling apart. Also, you didn't get hurt but others did. You just didn't know about it. Take your rose tinted glasses off. You may be a grown up but you still need to grow up it seems.
I remember standing on the south terrace versus Middlesbrough in the FA Cup in 1980. A crowd of 33,000 IIRC. Heady atmosphere but a crap view to be truthful. Also recall my mate breaking a rib when pushed against a crush barrier at Brentford away in around 1983. You're an idiot if you thought grounds were safe or pleansant places to be back then. Heysel? The Bradford Fire? Leppings Lane? Sorry mate, you've either got a defective memory or you're a simpleton.
“Everything is wOkE!” - Basic dickheads who’ve never had an original thought their entire lives.
Not a stadium, but a proper traditional Football Ground👍👍

It's a toilet which is rather fitting as its situated in the middle of a shit hole 😂😂
It's definitely looking pretty good, needed updating, better facilities but keeps the atmosphere.

Yo extraño tanto .. the Old Catedral! That arch was something special... such a shame for its demolition, Bilbao... the New Stadium is very modern, okay... what are you saying now when Wanda Metropolitano is miles better since 5 years already!? What are you saying in this era of so much modern stadiums and nothing special with New Mames... I’m sorry, but one of the most sad ideas to do not modernize the old special stadium, instead of this.
Great words by Manish

As a parent, a former educator, and a professional in the sports industry, I have followed covid's effect on professional sports as well as its effect at the high school and collegiate level. It's effects are on our nation's youth resulting from just 1 year without sports are shocking and far-reaching. I cried when I saw how life changing the unavailability of sports at these levels was devastating. Particularly for athletes in the inner cities of America. One study looked at 1000 athletes from a high school athletic program and it's athletes that had been regularly participating in various sports at the time of the quarantine in America. Out of 1000 students, 60% either committed suicide, went to jail, became first time fathers, or joined a gang during the following academic year. 60% of students who would have most likely continued their pursuit of sports if it had remained available to them were now not able to continue due to the life altering circumstances they now find themselves faced with. Now of course I understand why it was not, but the fact that sports had such a positive effect on so many lives should not be lost on anyone. Anyone who is contributing to growing, supporting or developing any endeavor in the sports industry at any level should be commended.
Es un estadio muy "inglés" muy bonito, y por fuera me recuerda al allianz arena
What a beautiful stadium. Greetings from Ireland. ☘️

Sân đẹp mộng mơ quá.
This New San Mamés is a clon of the Emirates Stadium (london), Da Luz (Lisboa), Türk Telekom Stadium (Istambul)...etc so I don´t see the charm of it, really (the old San Mamés had it, for sure). And it's almost entirely funded by public money for private use of the Athletic Club. How lucky they are.
Wow.....it's up there with the best of them..what a stadium...!!!
*will stay a hundred years*

Primero llegó San Mamés y luego el fútbol .
Este es el estadio más lindo del mundo pero no debían haber demolido el viejo san mamés que debió ser considerado patrimonio del fútbol mundial era hermoso
Para mí el mejor estadio del mundo
