Vegan Jerky | Beefless Jerky | Seitan | Vital Wheat Gluten |
Beefless Jerky
Dry ingredients:
3 cups of vital wheat gluten
1/2 cup nutritional yeast
1 tablespoon vegan bouillon
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon onion powder
1 tablespoon shiitake powder
1 tablespoon cocoa powder
1 tablespoon instant coffee
2 tablespoons beet root powder
Combine all dry ingredients together.
Wet Ingredients:
1 15.25 oz can of kidney beans (including liquid)
1 tablespoon sesame seed oil
1 tablespoon liquid smoke
2 tablespoons agave syrup (not included in the video, but highly recommended)
2 tablespoons vegan Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons red cooking wine
3 tablespoon liquid aminos
1.5 cups of warm/hot water
Blend all ingredients together (except the hot water) until smooth.
1. Mix dry and wet ingredients together to make a dough.
2. Knead dough for 5 minutes
3. Rest for 1 hour
4. Cut into 5 even pieces
5. Knot
6. Cook in slow cooker/steamer for 2 to 2.5 hours
7. Shred
8. Marinate in jerky seasoning for at least 1 hour (ingredients listed below)
9. Place seitan on oven pan, I used parchment paper.
10. Bake at lowest temperature in oven (about 170 degrees) for 2.5 hours
11. Enjoy!

What is the taste ?
Excellent idea, but the problem is when they kill the animals (living organisms), blend them down, squeeze them, (buried the organisms’ ground bones under the ground on another hand), and then nourish the wheats’ medias by that secretly and indirectly, as well as we will not going to be able to determine the killed animals by the artificial poultries’ and livestocks’ or any variety of the living organisms’ flavors.

So I made this yesterday (first try) and it is AMAZING!!!! The flavor is full and rich and the texture is incredible. Very impressive and creative! I don’t think I have the patience to wash dough so will just stick with vital wheat gluten but I am impressed.
Some ingredients i have never heard of, and or are impossible to find in my small town. Please tell me how integral these ingredients are, and if they can be replaced with anything more obtainable. shiitake powder cocoa powder beetroot powder red cooking wine (Easy to find but i would rather not) liquid aminos(This one is a mystery) Can I use my dehydrator instead of the oven? If so at what temperature for how long Dang, I am now so hungry after watching this lol

Yes, I would recommend using low sodium soy sauce.
