I liked Chicken Ala King while serving in the Persian Gulf War. A stray dog (we named him Scud and he became our company mascot) we picked up in the middle of the desert didn't. I still have a photo of him sitting next to an open CAK with a disappointed look on his face.

TY my American neighbour , gave a new sub, but am still missing steve like most of us MRE types. My ask ? Canadian rations, or North central European would be cool. You did some nice , rare rations, with good narration.

Once again, there are no noodles in the main, it's called pasta, noodles belong in ramen.

I liked the tuna with noodles and the omelette with ham! Also liked the older chicken ala king.

When you are starving they would taste great!

If you put the hot chocolate in the muesli , I think you would be happy

Bought a case of them, the entrees aren't bad, the entire case came with the same side sweet potato grape smoothie. It's disgusting. Also not one of the heaters work. Don't waste your money, best to buy actual mres.

The first thing I said to myself when you were unpacking that was that it was strange that there was no pack of Taco Sauce or Cheese Spread because that is usually what comes with the taco filling. And, yes, they should have also included a snack bread or crackers if they are also going to include PB&J. Very strange. I would have also expected Spanish rice instead of apple pieces. You would think that they said, "Ok, we're down to the last meal in the case. What's left that we haven't used for the other meals. Oh, taco meat, peanut butter & jelly, tortillas and apples. Well, that will work. Throw all that in and we'll call it good."

I agree with you on the sides.WTF??? Menu 2 chicken fajita is perfectly thought out. If you get the MKS beef taco for the Canadian armed forces it comes with black beans as a side and hot sauce. Nice.

Why in the world didn't they substitute jalapeno cheese spread for the peanut butter and jelly? Sometimes they make the strangest component choices on these MREs. Also, another gripe is the accessory pack for every meal should include salt, pepper, red pepper flakes, and a packet of Tabasco sauce.

Add your salt to a slow or dead FRH.

There seems to be a recurring misconception that Spanish food is supposed to be spicy. I think you might be confusing it with Mexican food. Spanish food is actually known for being averse to spiciness and using mainly olive oil, salt, garlic, onion, non spicy peppers, paprika, tomato and things like that for flavor. It's also a culture that looks down a bit on over-seasoning and strong sauces in general as they might be used to mask the flavor of sub-par ingredients. Instead it highly values quality ingredients and enjoys their natural flavor for what it is. Hence the simplicity of the stew... what you can identify with your own eyes is what you'll taste: chickpeas and pork. Instead of coming up with some complex blend of spices, it relies on the pork fat for flavor lol Of course I'm not judging your tastes, just trying to offer some cultural context. So yes, if you ever decide to get the canned squid ration, it will very much taste like...squid. But these are the kind of things people are making and eating at home everyday so the company making it will make sure the texture and taste are up to standard.

Was lucky enough to find a crate of 10 of these with assorted menus for cheap. crazy amount of calories man could probably stretch them out into 2 days a pop if you needed to lol. have you tried any other menus?

Connétable is a premium brand in France. It's available in every store in France. They make in my opinion the best canned fish, especially the sardines - those in olive oil are my favorite. It's quite expensive though. Sardines are even served in restaurant from the can - I mean they set the can in the plate, with bread and butter... it's absolute delight.

I got one from guy in Guam on Ebay. Menu F. 2018 made. Came in fine in about a week. Only things still edible with caution, was the 2 mains, the mashed potato's, The can of cheese and bread was still OK, oddly enough. The can of peaches was about to explode. Add the entire salt, pepper and ketchup pack to the mashed potato's. Had to toss many items. Choc bar was solid bloom. Good luck, Bro. Nice work, anyhow.

The bitch's who put this meal together never had to do CRP for 45min without relief or spend an hour cutting a person out of a car. To this retired medic it is clear still after60 years of EMS history people STILL as a whole have no clue what goes on when shit goes wrong for the normal civilian.

if you look at th ingredients on the side of the stew can, it will say "puerco" if it is pork. otherwise it may say "carne de rez" for beef

This was actually my favorite menu/main. I've gone as far as recreating it as a homemade dish and pairing it with homemade cheddar bay biscuits.
