His peeformnce in this movie is so underrated. If he didnt win oscar for this part, nobody else deservered an oscar. I have watched this scene like a thousand time and Im planning to watch it once in while for the rest of my life. He is unbelievably good. Why the hell did Pacino leave a simple task to an absolute simpleton like this lawyer who clearly is only driven by money? He actually charges $750 to a colleague and rationalized it by saying he's paying for lunch. That asshole doesn't understand quid pro quo very well and also didn't follow instructions to point out the clerical errors to the judge as he was expressly asked to do by Pacino. Just goes to show you if you want something done right you gotta do it yourself

Back in America's better days, when I was in high school, I saw this movie at a dollar theater ($1.00 admission) as I was hanging out there where a friend of mine worked. It was such a good movie that I saw it several times. Even at my young age I recognized that Pacino should have gotten a Best Actor Oscar for this movie. This movie was great and his acting for this role was superb.
