I love Spiral Bible and am going to order the NLT. I started with the KJV Gospels volume because it comes in Large Print, but even the regular versions are much more readable than the 8 pt type usually used in book-bound wide margin/notetakers Bibles. I love being able to fold the cover underneath, too.

I think the larger spiral is great for flipping it around to just have a single page showing. The spine is less likely to get broken.
I was thinking that, too. One way to minimize the pages getting hung up when turning the page is not to grasp the paper at the top corner, but instead at the middle.
I’d think metal would be even harder to break, more slick, and smaller to avoid hangups.

Have you seen the Saint Joseph New Catholic Bible by Catholic Book Publishing? It appears to be an original Catholic translation rather than a Protestant Bible converted to a Catholic Bible like the RSVCE or ESVCE. I would love to hear your thoughts on it.

Enoch is not considered apocryphal.
Once again, Mr Nickels, much praise for stepping outside the bounds of your own faith and at least making an attempt to explore what we Catholics treasure in these Deutero-canonical books.
Mr Nickels, I assume you are a conservative/evangelical Protestant, and so you must be commended highly for taking on both the reading and the release of a largely favorable review of the RSV, a translation that still generates much apoplexy among C/E Protestants. Thank you!

Is there any ESV Heirloom Text Edition. A text that is not updating every 5 or 9 years? 😅 Kidding aside, I love the Thinline. Though it's not a line match but it doesn't bother me because of its paper. For me, Thinline is the best overall. 🎉
As a Rancher. Psalms 144-14 is my guide. If it says may our cattle be heavy with young. Suffering no mischance or failure in bearing. I have prayed this verse over my cows for a long time. So the NKJV is not my go too. But I am tickled you like it. Love your content. My best regards.

Ah I KNEW it! NEW KJV Study Bible. I haven't read that one but I'm sure it's amazing. I've read the KJV Study Bible and it was a great edifying experience. I grew A LOT as a Christian. Probably helped take me from baby Christian to adolescent Christian. 😅 Thomas Nelson has done a FANTASTIC job with their KJV/NKJV study bibles. The notes and helps are solid.

I preach from it weekly. I hope Thomas Nelson leaves the text alone as well! No update needed. Lastly, I’m a TR guy and would love to see a translation from the TR in a more thought for thought process. Like a NLT based from the TR.
Tyndale would be appalled, with the translation and with the production of so many editions for the sake of making$$$. There is no reason for all these editions except profit.
Tyndale is a not for profit. Tyndale would be thrilled to know there are so many bibles available even the plowboy could read. Have you even checked the prices on many of these editions?

I have found the NRSV to be closer translation wise to the RSV than it is to the ESV... but stating that the ASV is an update to the KJV...?.. you may as well state that the NIV is an update to the KJV... ... I realize that was what the proposed intention for the creation of the ASV was said to be.. an update to the KJV... but the ASV.. totally changed the verses in much of the translation... the ASV is no more of an update to the KJV in reality... than the NIV is to the ESV... they are Not even close.... the ASV is an insult to the KJV...
The only official update to the KJV is the RV.

I know that that WAS the intent.. of the original ERV and ASV translators. .but what they spawned was something more destructive IMO than what most people realize.. If you are referring to the ASV as the RV... then you might as well state that the NKJV.. is the ONLY official update to the KJV... since in my opinion.. both the NKJV and the RV (as you call it).. have taken about the same amount of liberties in translation.. I am Not very fond of the RV However I DO have the complete set of Coffman commentaries.. and James Burton Coffman esteemed the ASV very highly.. I think he really appreciated the translators use of the word Jehovah for LORD in the O.T.... I do Not really care for the ASV or the NKJV nowadays... but I DO use them for comparison sake.. I can fairly tolerate the NASB..
How was the actual commentary itself? Was it insightful?
Mostly allegorical.
Another reason why I can never use the ESV for anything more than a supplement translation (along with a few others). I stick with the LSB and NKJV as my primaries. Good video Tim.
