I'm just not big on custom characters in smash. The whole appeal is the crossover of famous characters. It was between him and Ike and I've seen people say Ike is more popular. I don't care either way. I think Min Min fine. Nobody plays like her which is why I wanted to keep her.

If there's only one Xenoblade rep, Aegis would be the better choice. Plus, Nintendo owns more rights to Bayonetta than Pokemon. Nintendo and Sega each own 50% of Bayonetta. Nintendo, Game freak, and Creatures each own 33% of Pokemon.

Not even close. Ike is seen as the most popular Fire Emblem character and one of the faces of the franchise. You can't say the same for Sheik or Jigglypuff.

Removing all the fighters aside from one from a very popular series and also removing the oldest fighters in smash itself is just stupid. @@kayden2119 I agree it's a celebration of games, that's why I prioritized keeping as many franchises as possible instead of cutting them for more fire emblem characters. I would rather keep Little Mac/Ness/Mr Game & Watch over Marth or any other FE character. Fire Emblem is not a popular franchise, at least compared to the Nintendo heavy hitters. It doesn't need so many characters like Mario, Zelda or Pokémon.

Now it’s an active franchise Nintendo specifically promotes. @@theunbiasedopinion9132 It makes more sense for Nintendo to want to market the games they own and profit from. Smash is one big advertisement for all the other franchises, probably the biggest. Nintendo profits directly from the Bayonetta series doing well, not Minecraft, and the licensing is already done and settled. If you wanted to be truly unbiased and only have one third party character make it, then the answer would be Sora given that he was the actual ballot winner. But we both know that with Disney licensing and him being third party that the likelihood of him appearing again is next to impossible. The likelihood of Steve being in the next one is not that far off from Sora especially compared to Bayonetta.

@@s18cyt I'm not interested in which character will better help out Nintendo financially. Steve is a more popular character from a much more popular franchise. Steve takes priority. I don't even know why you're arguing about Minecraft, the most popular game in the world, over characters like Simon or Mega Man. We don't know for certain if Sora is the ballot winner since the results were never posted. Also, Sora won the ballot after several more popular characters already got it. I guarantee if the poll was done before any 3rd party character was added to the game, Sora would not win it.

I have no bias. That's why we're the Unbiased Opinion, not the Biased Opinion. Metroid is more popular than Fire Emblem. Always has been and always will be. I kept Ike since he's considered by fans to be the best and most popular character in the franchise. Fire Emblem only gets 1 character since it is a smaller franchise with a new cast of characters (almost) every game. I want to keep recurring characters, not the newest flavor of the month which will look terrible in 10 years.

What evidence do you have to suggest Metroid is more popular than Fire Emblem these days? Fire Emblem since 2012 has sold more than Metroid has since 2004. Fire Emblem Heroes has made like 61 Million in revenue. Its funny you are dunking on boomers and people that "dont play video games" throughout this video yet your perspective here is just as dated as them. And you are contradicting yourself by choosing Ike over Marth. If you wanted to keep recurring characters with staying power over flavor of the month characters, you would pick Marth since you would know he's been in the most Fire Emblem games and is referenced in nearly all of them. Yet you clearly know nothing about Fire Emblem and are allowing either ignorance or massive bias (despite claiming otherwise) to taint your opinion. Very disappointing for how much you were talking down the rest of the smash community for having similar tendencies.

Fire Emblem in the last 12 years has sold better than Metroid has in the last 20. Since the first Fire Emblem game released to present day the series has outsold Metroid as well. I think you are the one that needs help buddy, trying to pivot to something I never even said lol. Obviously Fire Emblem is not on the level of Nintendo's three biggest franchises. Its not even on the level of Splatoon or Animal Crossing. It is absolutely a big series though, its a bigger series than many other Nintendo staples such as Metroid, Pikmin, Warioware, and Xenoblade. Its nearly on the same level as Kirby.

If you're trying to sell the post-game content, the Friend Safari and hunting for mega stones isn't it. The friend safari isn't fun and feels tacked on. Hunting for mega stones isn't fun either since a guide is needed to hunt them down. Pretty much every game since Crystal has a battle tower so having it in X & Y isn't anything special. "Modern" online battling and connectivity started with Diamond & Pearl, X & Y just built on what was there. I've noticed that people who like X & Y generally have it as one of their first Pokémon games played. X & Y are not the first games I've played, I started with Ruby & Sapphire. X & Y are not just worse games, they represent the downfall of Pokémon that it has never managed to recover from.

@@theunbiasedopinion9132 I totally agree with you that most people like the generations they started on the most, but I'm a gen 1 baby and the funny part is that gen 3 is where everyone originally thought the downfall of Pokemon began. Also what I meant for online/friends for X and Y is before it, online wasn't really a main function of the game. You could go upstairs in the Poke Center and do trading/battling with friends but thats about it. I think gen 5 is where you could first do random ranked pokemon battles and that was about it for online features. X and Y introduced Wonder Trading, Friend Safari (which was not tacked on, it may seem like it in hindsight but at the time it was a main reason to add friends and try out the online features. If you had a ditto safari you were a giga chad online.), Online ranked battles became popular (IV and EV training became easily accessible in this gen where previously it was not.). Online was not just something hardcore players did to battle each other anymore, it was an integral part of the game now and it all started with X and Y. Looking back on this game now you might think oh no endgame content, but one the main focus's of gen 6 was playing online and that focus helped revive interest in the Pokemon series. Ruby and Sapphire, Diamond and Pearl, Black and White, were the 3 worst main line selling Pokemon games. X and Y did much better in sales than those games. Unfortunately it's hard to compare 1 to 1 since we never got Pokemon Z. X and Y weren't the downfall of Pokemon. The downfall of Pokemon is that we all grow up and want Pokemon to grow up with us, and it doesn't. It's a kids game and each new generation will have people who love it because it was their first generation. As well each new generation will have it's haters because it's not like the games they grew up with.

That's fine you had fun with friends or strangers, but these games are a step down from the previous games before it. Lots of people see X & Y as one of the weaker entries not because of nostalgia, but because they also noticed the dropping quality. To say it's is simply players "growing up" is being disingenuous. The director of X & Y even admitted to the missing content and drop in difficulty himself. He thinks that kids don't have enough of an attention span to play the games beyond the main game and there's no point in adding post-game content as some of the players might not see it. Pokémon was doing fine sales wise before X & Y. RS sold 16.22M. DP sold 17.67M. BW sold 15.64M. XY sold 16.45M. The interest was always there.

@@theunbiasedopinion9132 I mean I listed the reasons why it was actually pretty revolutionary and also being they basically had to remake the engine and sprites entirely moving from 2d to 3d. I'm sure it doesn't hold up today since the online features wouldn't be there and I'm guessing you were just playing it by yourself anyways. But if you don't want to read I'll stop tying to a brick wall. Kids are enjoying the current games and they will be their favorite gens growing up and they will complain about the future gens also. It's the cycle of Pokemon whether you can see it or not. If you want to stick your head in the sand and scream at game freak to make the Pokemon games the way you liked it back in your day, you'll be wasting your time but go for it. The next main line title will be just as childish if not more, so if you don't like it currently, then yikes your going to have a very bad day when the next one comes out.

@@roid1621 not bait. The games are 'ok' at best. Level curve is awful. Gen 4 engine is the worst in the series. Most of the Johto Pokemon available to you during the main story are absolute trash. Johto Rockets are straight up the worst villains in the series. Kanto is a laughably bare bones post game with every trainer except Red and Blue being weaker than the E4 you need to beat to unlock them. HGSS (and gen 2 as a whole) are quantity over quality. If you like them, good for you, but calling them Peak Pokemon is nothing but nostalgia blindness.

@@anthonyk3952 My main criteria for the games is the post-game content since that's where I spend most of my playtime. HGSS have one of the best post-games in the series.

@@roid1621 personal favorite games are BW2. Are they perfect games? No, far from it. Are they the closest to what I would consider the ideal Pokemon game (level curve, team variety, and post game content)? Yes. And before you ask, I started with gen 3. I used to like and appreciate HGSS back in middle school, but trying to replay the games for the gameplay as an adult is an absolute slog for the aforementioned reasons. Like I said earlier, the games are 'ok' but are extremely flawed in ways that hinder them.

It's in the OK tier. The DLC definitely helps the game. The base game alone would be lower.

MP2 is not really more unique. Torvus Bog and Agon Wastes are pretty similar and bland. The Pirate Homeworld, Skytown and Phaaze are much more visually interesting and unique. The biggest problem with MP2 is that it is a drag. It's not good enough to be called the "Majora's Mask" of Metroid.

I was so bewildered that I even talked to my wife about it and she informed me that their is a whole genre of "bro-casts" that blew up during the Covid lockdowns when people bought "Start your own Podcast" kits and decided to record themselves having bland and mundane conversations to share on the internet. Apparently there are tens of thousands of similar "content creators" but good for you I guess. Hopefully if the algorithm does ever send me your way again you will have at least made an effort to study the source material for your unbiased opinions and perhaps find a bit more passion in your voices. Lol, you heard it here first. I wouldn't be surprised if it is a climate change disaster at this point, the bigger surprise would be if the show lasts that long to show the downfall of Numenor. That's something that really annoys me about the adaptation is the removal of all religious/Christian references. A big reason why I like LoTR is the fact it is a Christian book. Its being changed to make it more "marketable" to the masses who don't want to see the faithful be rewarded for their devotion to Eru/Valar, and not falling under the influence of a santanic figure. - Craig

This is another good summary as to why someone like me, a bigger fan, would not like this show. I feel strongly that adaptations should try to bring the author's work to life with minimal interference. They should be seen as a shepherd, like Christopher Tolkien when he published his father's works with minimal interference because he wanted his fathers works to speak for itself. I know amazon only has the rights to the RoTK Appendices, but I feel like they got more than just that. They've shown Finrod and his wounds from the werewolf protecting Beren which was not mentioned in the appendices (from what I remember). So I feel they have more rights than just the appendices. Or they are violating their contract and have enough money to abuse the legal system. I know in the Hobbit movies, they were in legal trouble for just mentioning the Blue Wizards once. They know better and know the show isn't authentic. They probably aren't because they are probably hoping the show is a success so their channel grows.
