Out in the Daniel Boone Backcountry Byway around the Red River Gorge for Overland the Red with @OverlandPioneers in the Jeep Gladiator. Any adventure that ends with fun and no damage is a good one. Unfortunately almost all of the footage is GoPro as we traveled in convoy and I didn't want to hold anyone up setting up my camera.

Attempted the Georgia Traverse for the first time. Heavy snow made me cancel on the second day; just too sketchy for a solo run. Still had a great time and gained even more appreciation for these BFG KO2s.

Taking the RAV out for a breath of fresh air after a long hiatus. Offroad build in progress, but in the meantime here are a few highlights from a nice morning excursion. Vehicle is totally stock with no issues minus some slipping with slick street tires.

Yes, some people do take their RAV's offroad. Why am I taking a bone stock and my brand new daily driver offroading? Cars are meant to be driven, and this car will surprise you how capable it is. I love your video, clean and not overproduced. I'm looking at doing it with my stock Rav4 hybrid, how important would you say the 1.5" lift was for the trip? It seems like having the right tires is most important with maybe a little underinflation. Thanks again!

A buddy of mine ran that trail a few years ago in his Montero. Those are some amazing and beautiful views. It's a bucketlist to run that trail in the future. Great video!

Would a hybrid do as well or is there a big difference in the awd systems?
The Adventure and TRD have different AWD systems than the other models in that they use torque vectoring that can send power to any wheel that has grip. The other models use wheel braking. That said, a hybrid with good tires and potentially a lift would probably be just fine
so when is the crosstrek guy gonna trade that subawoo for a rav4?

Hello, I’ve been watching several of your videos, your trips look amazing. I recently purchased the 2023 Toyota Adventure, ( last three vehicles were Rav 4’s xle ), I really do very little off road but plan on retiring soon and doing a lot of traveling. I figured with this vehicle I’d be ready for anything. I’m curious, since you seem to do a great deal of off-roading, why the Adventure and not the TRD. I was looking at both myself but figured I would be spending the majority of my time on decent roads.
The TRD is basically the Adventure but with all terrain tires, TRD wheels, and TRD "tuned" suspension from factory. With the Adventure you can get your own aftermarket wheels and tires and save quite a bit of money

I love taking my RAV4 off-road on AZ rocky hills and NC sandy beaches. Never had a problem.
I have a 2020 RAV4. For owning a RAV4 for 2 years. I have been to the rocky hills of AZ and to NC beaches. I have found that the RAV4 well, It just works.

I am glad you are showing Rav4 doing a little off roading. I was so set on a rav4, but it’s not capable for what I need I’m glad I got talked out of it,but I still do love the rav4 it’s my favorite suv all around. I decided to go with a 4Runner whenever the redesign comes out. That Subaru really impressed me.
That Subaru really struggled. I’m surprised the CVT didn’t quit.
No it did not struggle
I love Subaru but I have to admit there was a good amount of times it was struggling @@HarukiYamamoto 6:45, 15:07, 17:08, and some other areas. No car is perfect. All cars will have it's challenges.

Nice to watch the Rav4 on that terrain, it really held up great. You should invest in a skid plate to protect your oil pan. Your Rav looks great.

Good video.. I would like to see someone push these ravs to their limits.
I think if you put a lower and much stiffer suspension, remove the excess weight such as passenger seats, plastic, put on some pirelli AT scorpions or bf goodrich all terrains, you could potentially rally this. It's not much longer, taller, or heavier than the 4th generation RAV4 which was actually a wining rally car in stock form. Only differnece is that the last one was probably a bit more aerodynamic and "car looking". The 5th gen RAV4's body style is more similar to the original RAV4.
Too bad you don’t have good off-road tires.
