Holy shit. This completely shook me, this is a very famous danish folk song, later turned nursery rhyme, "Chicken feet and carrots". czcams.com/video/MF41SHf9o4Q/video.html The chorus simply goes "Chicken feet and carrots, and the neck of a swan, the one who kisses the girls has a bad habit." The three verses talk about the female narrator marrying a man, although he was born in England, and she was born in Skåne. Then it talks about the children they will have.

Excellent, a favourite Welsh dance tune, of mine.
Beautiful. and I thought the Welsh were allergic to bagpipes. I have a passage in an old book where 2 Welsh Bard/Harpists fairly disparage an English Bagpiper at a border wedding. I defy any Harper not to find your pipes beautifully sounding.
@@paulcannell7188 there were definitely always pipes in Wales up to the 18th and possibly well into the 19th C, there are first hand accounts I've seen in about 1800 of pipes mentioned as is its still very normal. I find that harps and pipes go together very well.

Yes these are reproduction from a surviving example but they are really good for playing the modern UK repertoire and they can handle the modern Irish tunes as well, if slightly different to modern Uilleann pipes. And I see them mostly as a modern UK folk music instrument but it's nice to explore the history too.
Sounds great. I think this particular variety of bagpipe is still comparatively little known.
@@dbadagna I agree, it's not as well known. But I tend to find little is known among the wider public, most only know of the highland bagpipes, some ask if they are Irish or Northumbrian. So these are related to both. I find most people are astonished that there are other British bagpipes let alone bagpipes and related instruments originating from all over Europe, North Africa, Middle East and the Indus regions. And apparently from East Asia having a quick look at your videos!

Yes these tunes are Welsh as far a I know, Beth yw'r Haf i Mi is also a song. But there are obviously simarities with Breton music.

They are traditional Welsh dance tunes, there are obvious similarities with Breton dance tunes though. Beth yw'r Haf i mi is also a song, though sometimes the song version can sound very different, check out Kizzy Crawford singing it.
