    Hi! Nice video but as others said in the comments the video is maybe too fast and there are several minor details that are overlooked. For instance. At min 3:30 you create the spline selecting the ref points with a selection box. If instead I click over the two lower points, when it creates the spline passing by the 3 lower points it says "the geometry does not define a plane". Following your video with the selection box it does not give the warning, but why? Does it change something in selecting the points by clicking on them instead of selecting them with a selection box?

      @@EngineerBear90 Hi! I tried again today and I noticed that when clicking on a point it changes the shown plane...it select a weird or horizontal inclined plane that I don't get if i select them with the selection box. Is there a way to prevent this change of plane upon the point selection? Because i if then click on the Front plane to set the previous plane it does not work, it gives the warning. The only solution at the moment is to Undo and avoid to change the plane in the spline tracking process.

Most of the avaliable courses barely touch the surface of what revit can do, and discovering them on your own without a well thought course to guide you, takes so much effort and time that it's prohibiting for most people who have to learn revit while working.

    Nice tutorial. Just to add some info from my experience. There is kind of issue with bridges in Revit. Because bridge geometry is mostly in horizontal and vertical curves, we are using adaptive family as you show. But If you want to make section in random position it is impossible :D It is snapping profile geometry from the beginning of the path. Anyways this can be avoided by creating multiple solids and splitting them where you want section. Another issue is when you want to reinforce it. If you place rebar in vertical curve-you can not anotate it and then you need some manual work.

    • @EngineerBear90
      @EngineerBear90 Před 4 měsíci

      Hey Ranveer Singh! Thank you. Yes, that is possible. I have two solutions. 1. Add a new instance parameter(important that the data type is set to area) that multiply the width and length. 2. Use dynamo to select all the area in the excavation pit (also the sloped area) and add the area together. I have created a video about how to do that(Revit dynamo - calculate area, length and volume for a complex object), follow the link in the description. You can also report back the area to the family, also did a video on this.
