@@VictoryforVets I have the original documents (on microfiche) but where can you get that printed today? Ironically the VA and the records center will still send you either microfiche or micro copies of your records instead of sending them on CD or thumb drive. I remember we are supposed to be saving trees from the 1990s climate agenda.

@Panchitobear it is best to talk about each condition separately, if they are different. Example, migraines are very different from knee injury.... but maybe your knee injury is bad and also causing back issues. I hope this helps! Good luck

I want you to remember this: As a veteran, I went over 20 years without assistance from any organization and was even turned away by DAV, despite having active duty records of my physical injuries and proof of my MST. I spent two decades fighting without receiving help, missing out on benefits, and dealing with my PTSD alone because the VA wouldn't see me unless I was rated. It was a battle I fought alone, and I wish I had WSDV back then. I wish someone had been there to help me through the process instead of throwing papers at me and wishing me good luck. I reached out to so many people who were supposed to help me but only found myself in complete frustration and lack of any community or support. Many of my clients had been denied for years. One of my clients, a Vietnam veteran, fought for his ratings for 15 years and was desperate for help, but no one assisted him. However, in just 3 months, he was able to secure a 100% rating. Another veteran was turned away by the local chapter because he didn't deploy, and they refused to consider him a veteran and help him. While there are bad actors in every industry, I know that many veterans need more help than most companies can offer. I am thankful to the DAV for assisting my husband, a combat veteran, in reaching a 100% rating after 10 years, despite his broken back, 13 concussions, multiple stomach and knee surgeries, and migraines that landed him in the hospital. All these were the reasons he was unable to reenlist after 10 years of service. I appreciate the help in getting him to 100% after 10 years of struggle, despite not being well-informed about the process. I want to emphasize that I appreciate the efforts of all organizations that help us and will NOT speak ill of anyone. Each organization provides assistance in different ways. My clients have direct access to me and can attend live training sessions over 10 times a week, where they can get direct assistance with questions, concerns, or anything they need. They also have my phone number, and I strive to respond to them within 24 hours. I work 6 days a week, with an average of 70-80 hours a week. I call them when they are facing life challenges or simply need someone to talk to. They also receive motivation from a community of veterans. I cover all the necessary steps to help them obtain what they legally, ethically, and morally deserve through a well-informed process using the VA regulations to help them understand what they must provide and how to advocate for themselves.

The DAV? The same DAV that failed me in 2009 and then said there was nothing else they could do? The same DAV who refused to assist on a supplemental claim? No thanks. I have worked with Ash for several months and I just got 50% for my PTSD. She’s still working with me to increase it. Any payment she receives is well worth getting my rating. So, take a look at how she does it and MAYBE the DAV will do something correct.

Get diagnosed first

If you are submitting a claim for PTSD, then yes, you will need to complete this form. I highly recommend getting a diagnosis for your exact condition first. Also, please be sure to complete the correct form, as there are two types of PTSD forms. Good luck!

@@VictoryforVets my form is VA Form 21-0781a PTSD secondary to Personal Assault. I’ll get the diagnosis before submitting. It is documented in my service record also so the stressor is there. I’ll get there one way or another.

You should ALWAYS have a personal statement. This is your voice to the VA rater to advocate for your claim!

Great question. Make sure all of your software is up to date; it could also be the difference between using Adobe Reader and Adobe Pro. If those don't work, try printing it as an image. Let me know if that helps.

Great suggestions and questions. I am sure we could dig up the info, but the money has been passed along. Yes, this form is used for denials when you want to add more information. No, if denied again, you can keep fighting it. You can do supplemental at any time. If you do an HLR, then you can not do another one right after; you must do a supplemental to break it up. Good Luck!!

Call the VA to see if they have the C-file and if they do, then I would start with a supplemental claim, asking them to use it part of your claim evidence and give you a fair chance. If they do not have it, then do a supplemental and add it. Lastly, I would HLR and ask for someone with more experience to evaluate.

Hi! When you submit online, you will not put any conditions. The first claim to win will be backdated until the intent to file is dated. I recommend doing one or two claims at a time. Putting in a great claim will move faster and yield faster results. If you 'spray and pray,' which is submitting a bunch of claims that are not fully developed, can cause a lower rating than you actually deserve and can take longer to process. I hope this helps!
