    I would never ride such routes as you do, with either no lanes or merely painted bike lanes. Way too scary imo. But hills, un-plowed snow, rain, etc... Will do every day of the year pretty much. The exercise is just so worth it. Wakes you up real nice. Much easier to stay in shape. I hope you get more safer routes as well, it's nice to be able to relax while riding without an increased risk of getting rear-ended or sideswiped. Also that would really help with more people realizing cycling is a decent commute option.

    I know this is an old video but I can totally relate. As a 43 year old I've been riding on road for decades but tried riding dirt bikes off road late last year. I've probably logged 6 hours total. And this is absolutely how I felt the first time out. I've noticed a few things built confidence quickly. 1. riding multiple days in a row or weekends in a row you just get the feel of the bike so much faster. 2. standing as much as possible especially on anything remotely technical... even up hill I just stand and crouch with my butt back to weight the rear tire. 3. setting up the bike well for my tall-middle-age-self. I used lower pegs and steg pegz which helped so much for climbing hills for me. I also added a throttle tamer to my ktm because I was struggling with how much engine braking there was. All of those mods gave me much more confidence and made me feel more connected to the bike (bar placement and suspension matter too). Lastly ride with someone who will push you a little from time to time but also understands your limitations. Great video!

    • @markgunnison
      @markgunnison Před rokem

      Yes, that is one of my older dirtbike videos. I agree totally with everything in your comet. I didn't try lower pegs but I did try everything else. Now I'm usually the best rider in the group of guys I ride with. I wish I had riders much better than me to ride with. I also found Steg Pegz really helped. Especially in getting me to stand when I would often want to sit. After a few years of using them I did take them off as once I learned to grab the bike I felt I was better without them. They were well worth having though as I learned a lot from using them. Good luck.

Off hand I can't remember how that part of the headliner is held on. However, I did just recently pull back part of my headliner on the pilot's side to install a new GPS antenna. It was not bad pulling it back and reinstalling it. I'm not sure about the passenger side though. I would start by pulling the trim piece near the windshield with the little screws as it is easy to remove and reinstall.

    Nice electronics workbench! I have also built my electronics workbench to get me back to electronics and sharing my knowledge and experience on electronics.

      I just subbed your channel. I had actually watched your workbench build. Looks like you used some pretty nice wood. I will look forward to more videos.

    Thank you Mark. I recall that 63 percent figure from years ago but couldn't tell you much about it anymore. I just got a new piano keyboard from Beth for my birthday.... early. Lots to relearn. God bless you and Beth.
