    The times are greater now because of two reasons. 1. Seven steps before 1st hurdle . 2. Speed maintain after 7th hurdle during 110mh run. To execute both , you have to have power. The reason for that power is
.

    I actually started doing this technique 12 years back in 2012. Here's the video I put up then showing some of my initial goes with such: czcams.com/video/P5veZmxB4lU/video.htmlsi=3CT_YS-8tUdweK6P Such a technique is certainly amazing for the first half of the race. The 2nd half I'm not so sure but surely can be perfected for a full 110mH race as well.

    Just being honest do not mimick great athletes 100% there is no perfect technique and everyone has certain things about them that are outliers , that's IMO it could work for you buy no guarantee

    • @steviej9332
      @steviej9332 Pƙed rokem

      Couldn't agree more. He got to this by training it over and over again. We all have to do the same thing and go through trying different things. Only than, we will be able to find our own things and clues that work for us individually. However, I believe studying and trying what other athletes are doing can rapidly increase the speed of self discovery and technique development.

    • @Sealae80
      @Sealae80 Pƙed rokem

      @steviej9332 yes but I'm saying it as I too have done this in the past and made my self run slow at conference and regional meets in college, if it works by all means go for Stevie but make sure it works for you without taking away what you do best if it's doing that it's probably not the answer again this is my opinion I'm not certain at all

  • @selimnurudeen7180
    @selimnurudeen7180 Pƙed rokem

    Pay attention to Grant's frequency between hurdles in the 110m. He's always slowing down. After the 7th hurdle. He gets up to speed so quickly that it pushes him up on the hurdles layer I. The race and it subconsciously makes him slow down. That's where he typically loses. He either has to not start as fast so his race frequency has a more consistent tempo or force his lead leg down faster over those last 3 or 4 hurdles so he has more real estate to sprint. Either way, it's a glaring issue and he has the ability to have broken the 110 world record 10 times over.

    • @thechosen3136
      @thechosen3136 Pƙed 3 měsĂci

      This is so true and I noticed it when Hansel parchment walked him down to. Another thing is that he tenses up at the end and the slowdown is so obvious

    • @kiansanches1192
      @kiansanches1192 Pƙed 2 měsĂci

      Great that you noticed that. My trainer told me it is because he takes his lead leg over the hurdle from behind instead of only in front of you, what this does is that it takes away the tension in your feet. If you kick your lead leg from only in front of you, you are way more efficient and more powerful when you land. That is why at the last 3 or 4 hurdles he fails to pull through and run a new world record. He doesn’t have this problem in the 60mh because there are only 5 hurdles.

    Not many vaulters, even elite vaulters can do some of the things Mondo does in his jumps. The bending at the knee of your take-off leg as take-off is completed is a fault that should be worked on to improve reasonably.

    The best advice I can give budding athletes is: Chin up, chest up & look straight ahead (efficient breathing, races are lost when looking left or right) Pump the arms & heel to the butt (to accelerate & to keep economic medial movement) Breathing - in through the nose for 4 & breathe out through the mouth for 4 in a smooth rhythm (nitric oxide delivered through the sinuses - a vasodilator which delivers oxygen to the muscles efficiently leading to less exhaustion & greater running economy). Breathing out through the mouth for the removal of waste products quickly. Shoulders relaxed & down & keep torso still (minimises energy wasting lateral movement) The weather & incline training has an important effect on your breathing so in through the nose and out through the mouth can be very beneficial. With regard to diet, some runners find that eating at round 8pm the night before gives them more energy when running next morning. Another good video to watch on CZcams is Sprinters Analyses by Michael Johnson.

    It would be quite interesting to get some split times for these different race sections. Like 0-100, 100-200, 200-300, 300-400. For me as a former 400m Hurdles athlete I'd be very interesting to know. Also I'd like to see an analysis of his sprint technique because his way of running is quite unusual. But what's making him so fast? His frequency of steps? His length of steps? That would be super cool to analyse! Greetings from Germany 🙂

    The stable upper body is an excellent signature of a good hurdle sprint. Especially for Grant Holloway. In his winning and record breaking races he gets a fantastic start, gets clear of the field and maintains his stable upper body until the end to protect his leadership. But in Tokyo he got anxious, his upper body started to rotate back & forth, he lost his form and got beaten. As long as he stays relaxed his upper body stays stable and he wins. If not, he gets caught. ItÂŽs really drastic on him.

    One thing I have noticed is that when there is even a slight difference in the rhythm of the curve steps the takeoff angle is severely affected. The speed in the last steps is supposed to be perfectly smooth to allow the takeoff angle to be as far from the bar as possible. The work is done on the ground and when your steps all happen one after the other that's when those awesome jumps happen.
